Initial Expectations: Jules Jordan is easily establishing himself as one of the best gonzo porn directors around. With both Temptress and Leanni Lei here I’m really looking forward to this one!

Initial Reaction: It’s much better than its predecessor, and shows a great jump from where Jordan started to where he is now.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants very high technical aspects

Audio /Video Quality: The audio and video both lack a bit, but I expected that. This was one of Jules Jordan’s very early features, and he didn’t have close to the budget or skill that he now has. That said, I’m not sure if some of the audio problems are due to the original recording or the DVD creation. The audio often gets crackly and feels maxed out, which feels like a problem with the final creation rather than the original capturing. There’s also a fair amount of the audio that’s not even closed to balanced. The video is also a bit of a mix. It’s often a little above average, but there are a lot of soft focus problems and a few lighting problems.

Music: The music reminds me of those guys on the street corners with play drums on pails or whatever else they have handy. It’s an odd style of music, but is enough to add a little beat (as opposed to beating which I’m sure also happens during most of Jules’ scenes) to the action. It’s normally very nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Disc Problems / Complaints: The chapter menu is very slow to load, which is a little annoying but nothing more than that. The main feature is divided up into about four titles with about three chapters for each title. It’s very annoying, especially if you want to return to the middle of a scene. It also makes the DVD creation look a little amateur. I’m hoping this is because this was one of Pleasure’s earlier DVDs, since they normally look much better than this.

Menus: The main menu has a little animation to give it a decent opening feeling. The chapter menu is pretty typical and allows you to choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a chapter number.

The Feature: Jules Jordan returns again with a sequel to Live Bait. Once again many of the girls appear to be amateurs and there’s no plot. Well, there’s a little bit of setup here and there, but it’s still just a collection of scenes Jules has put together without any recurring theme.

Leanni Lei starts things off watching a little of one of her scenes with Jules and getting ready for her scene. They decide to try a little anal, so Leanni starts warming up Jules orally while he fingers her asshole. They move around a bit so that Jules can tongue Leanni’s twat as she sucks his cock before cutting to Leanni squatting down on Jules’ sheathed sword. Jules keeps things going by fucking Leanni missionary style before moving his cock down and into her ass. She moves on to take it doggie style before finishing with a great facial. Unlike some cum dodgers, Leanni gets really into it and smiles and laughs through much of the pop. It’s a hot scene, and a very nice start to the feature.

Leanni returns for the next scene, this time with Faith, an attractive black woman. From the start you know it’s going to be a slightly nasty scene since this was the scene Leanni started watching in the previous scene. After some quick kissing they skip directly to the action as Leanni fucks Faith with a double dildo doggie style. This also doesn’t last long, and Faith invites Jules to join them. As most of us now know after seeing how far Jules has come, he isn’t any kind of dummy, and quickly drops his drawers for the girls to go to work on him. Surprisingly, Faith gets the first poke, which she takes while in a sixty nine with Leanni before Leanni takes her first turn cowgirl style. It’s another hot scene, but the energy and chemistry between Jules and the girls help it to rise slightly above the opening scene. Once again Leanni has some great enthusiasm for the scene, and it passes nicely to Faith.

Jules heads to the mall with Kristen and Camille, who let Jules follow them up on the escalator as well as capturing a couple upskirt shots in the food court. They finally head back to the hotel where the ladies can work on each other as well as show off a little more to Jules in the vacant halls. The quickly move to the bathroom, and the opening of the scene immediately reminded me of Rocco’s bathroom scene from Buttman’s European Vacation. The girls slowly work each other over with their tongues while also undressing each other before moving into the bedroom where they add a double dildo and a buttplug to the mix. Sadly, the action cuts out without feeling close to finished and we’re shown that afterwards the girls wash up together in the shower. It starts out as a great scene, but sadly ends up as a bit of a letdown.

Temptress, a gorgeous brunette with a natural body that many porn stars ironically seem to try to mimic with a ton of surgeries, leads Jules on with a few teases that show off all of her amazing body. Fulfilling the dreams of many red blooded American boys, Jules gets his rod sucked by Temptress. As usual, Temptress puts some nice effort into it, and sucks Jules’ cock with enough nasty style and enthusiasm that most people wouldn’t think she would have been signed by Wicked, with its reputation for couples films, later on. Jules returns the favor with some vigorous finger and tongue action. They move on with a bit of missionary work before Jules gives Temptress a fair helping of guy goo on her face. He upholds the very low standards of porn stud marksmanship by nailing her in the eye with his first pop, but Temptress takes the remainder of hit nutty goodness with a great smile. It’s a fairly short scene, especially compared to some of the other scenes here, but has a great attitude and of course, Temptress!

Harley Raines shows up just a little after her big fat titties, which I think is a fairly normal occurrence. She shows Jules a little, which at the size of her body parts isn’t as easy as it sounds, and then moves up to Eric Everhard so he can smell but not taste her snatch. She gives him a little reward by sucking his cock, and then lets him slide his cock into her pussy. After working her first hole over a bit, Eric slides it into hole number two first in missionary and then in doggie, and keeps it slow the entire time. Jules joins in the end for a little head, and helps Eric finish Harley off with a very nice double facial. It’s a very good scene, but I wouldn’t call it great. Harley seems mildly into the action, but never gets all the way into it. Although Jules getting a little action at the end of some of his scenes sometimes amuses me, it brings this one up just a notch towards the end since it gets a little more enthusiasm out of Harley.

Nikki, who appeared in a couple scenes in Live Bait shows up to suck on Jules’ tool in the next scene. As they near the end, she tells Jules to cum all over her face, a request he grants shortly afterwards with a very impressive pop. It’s a short scene, but decently done.

Harley Rains returns for another scene, this time an oral one. I’m not sure if she really wanted to drop down to her knees or if gravity finally had its way with her body, but she drops down and gives Jules some nice oral action along with some nice looks from her pretty green eyes. Unlike the last scene, this time the camera moves all around and even catches the action from below until Harley catches the results of her action on her face. It’s an okay oral scene, but nothing that struck me as too amazing. I will admit that I’m probably a little biased here as I start out every one of Harley’s scenes on the down side due to how much she’s mutilated her body.

Claudia Fields, a dark haired college student with a nice and natural body and a 3.8 GPA, auditions for a scene with Jules next. After talking a bit about what she’s done in the past and what she likes, Claudia shows off what she brings to the party and starts sucking Jules’ shaft. She sucks and strokes Jules while giving him some great eyes, and finally finishes things out taking Jules on her face while appearing a bit afraid of it. It’s a pretty good scene that seems to go on just a tad too long. Claudia shows some great enthusiasm for cocksucking, and turns out the best oral scene of the bunch.

Live Bait 2 avoids the curse of the sequels and provides a nice bridge between Jordan’s earlier Live Bait and his current work. There are still a few bugs in the style and his direction is a bit rough at times, but it’s nowhere near as basic as in Live Bait. Leanni Lei helps make this one a keeper, as she turns out two very good scenes, and Temptress also helps things out. No, it’s not as good as his current work, but you can also check it out for a heck of a lot less. If you’re curious about Jules Jordan and don’t want to spend the big bucks to check him out, Live Bait 2 is a pretty decent place to look.

Extras: So-called bios are included for Leannie Lei, Faith, Temptress, Kristen and Camille, Nikki, Harley Raine, and Claudia Fields. There isn’t any personal information or anything, just a few shots that let you identify the players. The slide show contains about sixteen nice looking snapshots which are presented two to a screen. There’s also the standard offering of trailers from the Pleasure family, internet information, and phone sex commercials.

Overall: Currently, the Live Bait series can be found online for between $10 and $24 with most stores offering it them for around $20. At the low end this one is a pretty great buy. Yes, it has a few problems that show up here and there throughout the feature and in almost every aspect of the DVD, but for $10 and Jules Jordan you can’t go too wrong!
