Les Bitches Review

So, I bought this movie not expecting much. I haven't really been impressed with Kira Kener in the past, and the back cover really didn't tell me much. Yet... I found myself intrigued with the movie. So, was it a waste of money?

The Movie: I was very impressed with Les Bitches. The direction, acting, story, and sex are all very tight. I would have to say this is up there with HeartBreaker in terms of quality, and Paul Thomas really has some interesting little touches in the movie.

The movie follows Kira Kener, Roxanne Hall, and Lezley Zen, the three bitches. Each woman has a seperate story that get pulled together by the men in their lives. This does create a slightly disjointed story. Still, each character is very fleshed out, and I felt that the story focused on each character as much as it should.

There is less a plot, as there are simple characters heading towards their downfall. Kira plays a woman who is so obsessed with herself that the first time we see her she is masturbating to a mirror. Roxanne is the rich bitch who his hiding her darker side. Finally we have Lezley Zen, the girl who wants everything handed to her. She is the brat of the bunch. Each girl has a man in their lives as well. Kira has Nick Manning, a rather shady character. Roxanne has Alec Metro, the nice but hardly faithful husband. Lezley has Dale Dabone, the just plain nice guy. No one stays with who they started with, and the eventual outcome is the downfall of all three women. How they end up is the interesting part.

I would go through a scene by scene, but the movie just has so many scenes, that I will just sum it up. The sex is good. There is no really poor scene, but no real stand outs. All the sex is very even, and very well shot and performed. If you like anyone in the cast, you'll be happy, because everyone has at least two scenes, if not more. Paul Thomas continues to impress me with his ability to direct great dialogue, as well as good sex. Good work.

Tech Stuff: The picture is grainy, and far from crisp. It's what I've come to expect from a Vivid movie shot on film. The sound is good though. The levels were just right.

Extras: The usual extras. The behind the scenes stuff is very interesting, and a good watch. You also get trailers (more on that in a second), and extra scenes. If you watch the trailers, you will see the trailer for the next big Paul Thomas movie, The Villa, and I have to say, I can't wait. It looks like they took the plot from Swimming Pool, and hyped up the sexuality (hard to do considering how sexual that movie was).

OverAll: This was a very good, although not outstanding, feature. The plot is interesting. The acting is tight. The direction is top notch, and in the end, you have a very interesting porno soap opera. This is what Paul Thomas really shines at, and I'm glad that I get to add Les Bitches to my collection. Recommended.
