Lana is one of Greg Lansky's showcases from Tushy.com, in this series featuring new adult actress Lana Rhoades, that was released in five parts between December 22, 2016 and March 12, 2017. When all five parts are assembled together on this release of Lana there is a complete, and coherent, story told from one piece to another making the showcase look as if it was originally made to be one feature adult movie.

In Lana, the story of Lana (Lana Rhoades) is told a young student at UCLA School of Law in her last year. Between school and her unpaid internship under Mark Kaiser (Mick Blue) at the law firm of Wakefield and Meyer, Lana has no life, no money, and too much stress. Her roommate Kate (Penny Pax) introduces Lana to the lifestyle of a high-class escort to solve her problems.

There isn't a ton of story in Lana, all of which is told in a combination of narration and dialog. However, what is here for the plot works very well since the plot fits with the sex and the whole work ends up being a better adult movie vis-à-vis more complex adult movies where the plot and sex are constantly fighting for the viewer's attention but never work in tandem.

Much of the credit for how well Lana works as a movie has to go to writer and director Greg Lansky. Lana is an absolutely beautiful movie. The sets and locations, the lighting, the camera work, and the editing, Lana comes across looking like a mainstream movie, not an adult movie. Lana is a cinematic marvel that isn't often seen these days in adult entertainment!

The photography in the movie is beautiful with obvious thought behind the shots. The movie features some of the most beautiful camera work since the great directors of the golden age of adult films. Nice establishing shots help the movie as well. The movie utilizes nice locations that fit the movie. Lana is tightly edited making for a nice all around movie as far as the visuals go. There are a few special effects in the movie that look nice and add to the mainstream feel of the movie. Both of these are text conversations between Lana and Kate and Mr. Pierre (Jean Val Jean) and Lana that go up the screen.

Not all the credit can go to Lansky, however, since the cast does a nice job with both their sexual and non-sexual footage and no matter how beautiful a movie Lansky made if the sex or acting fell short the movie would still be a failure. Tushy features anal sex so, as can be expected, Lana has an emphasis on anal scenes and since this was shot as a series of five web scenes, the sex scenes are long, especially for a feature style adult movie. The acting looks good in the movie. There is limited non-sex material for the cast but none of it comes across as awkward.

Lana matches up newcomer Lana Rhoades with some seasoned industry professionals like Manuel Ferrara and Mick Blue, who have proven time and time again that they can create a great looking adult scene. The same goes here. The sex scenes look great. The cast looks like they are having a great time and with the beautiful shooting of the sex scenes, it is hard not to have a winner on your hands with this movie.

Overall, Lana combines a beautifully shot feature-style adult movie with a nice looking cast and some great sex scenes making for a great well-rounded adult movie. Fans of the feature genre, despite the movie being composed of five web scenes, will find Lana to be an enjoyable venture. Lana is a very rewarding adult movie.

Tushy has done a great job with their DVD release of Lana. The release consists of two DVDs. The first two web scenes of the movie are located on the first disc. The second disc contains the last three web scenes along with the extras.

Lana is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1. Lana was shot digitally in 4K ultra high definition and is presented on the DVD in 480p. The image is flawless. The colors are beautiful and vibrant. The image is clear, crisp, and clean. No one should expect anything better on the DVD format. However, in an odd decision, the feature opens with the trailer for the movie for some reason. Playing the feature is the only way the viewer can access the trailer.

Lana is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio track. There aren't any discernible issues with the audio that are detectable by this reviewer. The dialog is crisp and clear and the sound has good depth to it. This is the best one can expect from a Stereo track.

Tushy hasn't included much in the way of extras on the release. The trailer for the movie is on the disc, but can only be viewed by playing the feature movie. Tushy has also included a photo gallery and a cumshot recap reel.

Lana is a feature-style adult movie that combines five web scenes from Tushy into one complete, and comprehensible, feature movie. The director, Greg Lansky, has done a beautiful job of creating an adult movie that looks like a mainstream film with a beautifully shot and wonderfully polished final movie. The cast looks great and does a great job with both the sexual and non-sexual portions of the movie. All-in-all, Lana is a definite must see for fans of feature-style adult movies. Tushy has done a great job with their DVD release of Lana. The extras are lacking but the audio and video presentation are top-notch.
