The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: When it comes to compilations, one normally expects the technical aspects to vary a little. That doesn’t happen much here, mostly due to Wicked normally paying a lot of attention to the transfers. The audio is normally clear and well balanced, and for the mid-nineties, the video also looks pretty good. There’s normally a little grain to the scenes (and a little more for Jenna’s pairing with T. T. Boy as it was shot on film), but for the age of the feature it looks very good.

Music: With compilations the music normally varies from scene to scene in both balance and style. Since Wicked keeps their movies fairly focused in style that isn’t much of a problem here. The music ranges from being nicely balanced to being a little on the loud side, but is normally pretty typical porn music.

Menus: The main menu is very nicely done and gives a good first impression. The chapter menu is pretty standard and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip from each chapter.

The Feature

Anybody who’s watched porn, or even paid the slightest bit of attention to it in roughly the last decade has heard of Jenna Jameson. She’s arguably the biggest female name the adult industry has ever had, and has one of the most devoted fan bases as well. For quite a while many of her fans have been wanting a compilation of her Wicked movies, and it finally arrives with Jenna Jameson’s Wicked Anthology: Volume One 1995. In it, interviews with those who worked with and around Jenna are used to lead into scenes from some of the movies she did in her first year with Wicked Pictures. Directors such as Jonathan Morgan, Michael Zen, and Jim Enright talk about Jenna, as well as Wicked VP of Sales Joy King and Wicked Creative Director Brad Willis.

Scene 1 - Jenna Jameson and Peter North

Jenna starts this off with Peter North in a scene from Priceless. He starts out working on her inflated chest before jumping down to Jenna’s lower lips for some oral action. They do a great job of moving around as they fuck, changing locations as well as positions. Scene 3 - Jenna Jameson and Brad Armstrong

Jenna takes on Brad Armstrong in a Civil War styled scene from Cover to Cover next. Brad works over Jenna’s obviously implanted tits and works his way down to her pussy, which is either the most sensitive in the world or Jenna overdoes things quite a bit. Scene 4 - Jenna Jameson, Tiffany Million, and Jon Dough

Jenna’s candle lit pairing with Jon Dough from The Wicked One appears next. This gives most of the scene a very dark feel where you often can’t see everything. Jon caresses Jenna’s body before she drops down to suck his cock. As she sucks, and the camera angles change, her image is sometimes replaced by Tiffany Millions’, which gives things an eerie feel. This is a borderline hot scene. It nicely set up some of the story in the original movie, but I think this scene was edited a little. As I remember, this scene was about half Jenna and half Tiffany, and here the scene is almost all Jenna.

Scene 5 - Jenna Jameson, Anna Amore, and Taboo

Anna and Taboo hook up with Jenna to give her a lesson in strap-ons for the penultimate scene, which comes from The Kiss. She sucks each of them before riding Anna reverse cowgirl style. She also lets Taboo fuck her from behind while she sucks Anna’s plastic cock before they go their separate ways as if the porno timer went off.

This is an okay scene. There’s some nice potential to start with, but the scene doesn’t do much with it. It feels way too short, and almost seems like it’s there just so the movie can claim it has an all girl scene. Jenna does a nice job with the strap-ons, but by the end it feels more like a tease than anything.

Scene 6 - Jenna Jameson and T. T. Boy

Jenna gets it on with T. T. in his jungle hideaway in the final scene, which comes from Blue Movie. She lets him kiss his way across her body before giving him some very nice looking head with great eyes. Jenna climbs up to ride T. T. in both cowgirls before T. T. creams on her bush. Since Jenna brings things out of guys that few other women can, T. T. keeps going, giving it to her from behind before giving her a little more guy goo on her ass. T. This is a pretty hot scene! The lighting seemed a little off at times, but Jenna does her usual very nice job. Jenna gets into it nicely without going too overboard, and I can’t help but be impressed with T. T.’s volume. It’s a hot scene and I only wish it could have went a little longer.

Although it would have been a great compilation a few years ago, I can’t help but be disappointed by Jenna Jameson Wicked Anthology Volume One 1995 now. To start with, it’s the shortest compilation I’ve seen come out in years. If that’s not enough, there’s nothing new with Jenna here. Almost every other company out there who’s put out a really good compilation in recent years has included interviews with the featured star and most of them have included a new scene with the star. Just check out Private’s Life of..., VCA’s Deep Inside... or Adam & Eve’s Signature Series compilations. Every one of them has given the viewer something new with the star. Okay, I can maybe see not having a new scene as the focus here is Jenna when she was getting her start, but there’s no reason to have this few scenes! Finally, there’s the choice of people to talk about Jenna. Yes, people like Jim Enright and Michael Zen are great choices as they directed much of Jenna’s early works. Joy King and Brad Willis also do a nice job of talking about why Wicked was so impressed with Jenna and how well Jenna did right from the start. Joy nicely tracks Wicked’s progress with Jenna, and although that’s a good start, how about an interview with Brad Armstrong, who I’d think Wicked could find the time to come in, or some of the other performers who worked with her in her early years? For that matter, how about Steve Orenstein, the head of Wicked Pictures? Jenna was a golden goose for years for them and a big part of what put Wicked on the map. I can understand Jenna not appearing herself here due to her current contract, or possibly even the size of the check she’d want for a five minute interview, but here she’s treated almost as if she’s dead. Yes, five years ago this would have been a great compilation, but compared to what else is out there for compilations Jenna Jameson Wicked Anthology Volume One 1995 lacks badly.

The Extra Stuff

Photo galleries are included from each of the movies featured in the compilation. Each gallery lasts about two minutes and gives you about five seconds per nice looking photo. Stats and a little personal information is included for Jenna, as well as a link to one of her scenes. Trailers are included for Bordello Blues, Heat, Falling From Grace, Hercules, and XXX Training. There’s a bonus scene as well as the usual Wicked extras of promotional materials, DVD-ROM Extras, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coaltion.

Bonus Scene - Jenna Jameson and Nici Sterling

The bonus scene features Jenna and Nici, and comes from The F Zone. Nici finds herself in two places at the same time, and watches as Jenna eats and fingers her. This is a pretty good scene. There’s nice chemistry between Jenna and Nici, and they keep things moving nicely. The camera work lacks a little at times, but Jenna and Nici were hot enough together that I never lost interest. My biggest question here is why this scene wasn’t included in the main feature, as there’s more than enough time to put it in.

Currently, many Wicked Pictures DVDs can be found online for between $16 and $25 with a large portion of stores offering them for around $19. Unless you’re a huge Jenna fan, rent this one first. It lacks as a compilation and leaves out a good portion of Jenna’s scenes from 1995. The technical aspects are well handled, as usual with Wicked, and they include a bonus scene to help round out 1995 a little better.

Note to Wicked Pictures: You started with a decent idea here, and I hope you found my criticism helpful enough to make Volume Two a much better release!
