Ironically, I got "Jamie Loves Jeff" off the poor review of another critic. Everything he hated about the movie actually made me interested in seeing it, and now I wished I would've listened to him instead.

"Jamie Loves Jeff" is an incredibly amateurish looking early Paul Thomas vid. As in many of Thomas' early movies, it looks like it has been shot and edited by a high school student, with Grade Z acting and a script, which even by porno standards sucks.

The "story" involves around a high school reunion. Jamie (Jamie Summers) and Jeff (Jeff Stryker) were high school sweethearts who have moved on with their lives. Jamie is married to a dorky lawyer (Tom Byron) and Jeff is married to a ditzy housewife (Megan Leigh, possibly one of the worst actresses ever in the business). At the reunion, Jamie and Jeff get back together (we get a lame montage with Jamie going down a slide and playing in a park with Jeff before the sex scene), while Tom gets it on with Megan and Nikki Knights. This is much more exciting than Jeff and Jamie's boring sex scene, which we sadly get two of.

The plot is of no importance whatsoever, so I'm not even going to bother getting into the details. Even with a lame story, I was hoping to be impressed with the sex (as sometimes I am with Paul Thomas), but that was not to be. With the exception of the Tom-Megan-Nikki scene, everything else was poorly shot and boring to tears. Part of the reason for the quality of this scene has to do with the fascinating Nikki Knights. She is unlike any other actress I've come across in porn; she's not a traditional beauty, but brings more heat and passion to her scene than any of the "beauties" do in this movie.

Paul Thomas remains an enigma to me. He has directed some very good story-oriented films (such as "The Masseuse"), some hot sex-oriented ones (such as "The Enchantress"), and pieces of crap like this. All I kept thinking about while watching it is how much better it could be. The idea of a high school reunion could be a great set-up for a porno movie, but Thomas as he did with weddings in "The Scarlet Bride" botches this concept too. I understand the 5 scene rule for adult films, but why are we forced to see 2 scenes with Jeff and Jamie and not even one with Jamie and Tom (who are married, by the way- quite the easy set up for a sex scene). I call this the Thomas Lack of Logic Theory and still am shocked that such good and bad movies can be made from the same director.

I'm giving this movie a **1/2 soley for the Tom-Nikki-Megan scene, which belonged in a much better movie. Everything else about this movie can go.
