Initial Expectations: Inside Marie's Play Place was a nicely different release. Even without being quoted on the cover I'd be looking forward to this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects leave a little to be desired. The audio is normally clear and decently balanced without any obvious background noises to interfere. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and leaves a little to be desired. While much of the movie is well presented, there are quite a few areas with a little camera motion and even more where you get a little digital breakdown or grain showing up. I love that Marie Madison cares enough about her product to present her movies in anamorphic widescreen, but the video could definitely use a touch more care and is easily the weakest part of the entire DVD.

Music: The music is nicely balanced with the reset of the audio, and has a fun and friendly style. It also works because it shows up here and there in the movie rather than being constantly in the background.

Menus: The main menu blends the boxcover with the choices for an okay first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a still from each scene and a title for the scene.

The Feature

The Inside Marie's Play Place series takes a sexy “behind the scenes” look at the making of Marie Madison's website. Between writers trying to do their own thing, keeping talent relaxed and happy, and the other day to day antics around the office, Marie has more than enough on her plate.

After the “worst date ever” (where they don't even leave the driveway), bottle blonde psycho Sydney lets Dave know that she had a great time and that a blowjob isn't out of the question. This is a hot and very friendly scene.

After watching part of Hurley's movie, Jade feels the need for a shower and Marie quickly comes along to join her. This is another very nice scene. Jade, as always, looks fantastic, and once again Marie brings plenty of chemistry with her to the scene. The action stays nicely realistic and there's a very nice focus on each girl's pleasure with the action being nicely captured. This scene worked very well for me.

Jade brings Iggy back to get a little more loving. After an adventure to be alone they find themselves in a back hall where she quickly lets him suck her tits before dropping down to suck his cock. Inside Marie's Play Place 2 nicely builds on the original Inside Marie's Play Place. I know this isn't a worthy comparison, but there's a part of me that couldn't help but be reminded of TV sitcoms like Action and Sports Night with how the characters grew on me over just a couple episodes. Dave Hurley is his own special brand of crazy that had me looking covering one eye in fear of what he might do next while the other eagerly looked forward to seeing how much more twisted he could get (and yes, there is a surprise or two from Dave that I left out of this review). Jade Houston also really grew on me, and I found myself looking forward to seeing more and more of her in action with each scene. Her first boy – girl scenes are included in this volume, and she does a great job in both a full sex scene and a blowjob scene. Throw in some nice action with Marie, a little fun between Marie and Presley, and some of Dave Hurley in action and you have some surprisingly nice sex sandwiched into a nicely amusing sitcom style framework. The style of Inside Marie's Play Place 2 might not be for everybody, but I loved that it felt unique for an adult movie as well as that it felt like something the entire cast was having a lot of fun making. Although far from perfect, it feels like a labor of love and is showing some decent improvement over time that makes me look forward to Inside Marie's Play Place 3 even more than I was looking forward to this installment. Inside Marie's Play Place 2 has its faults, but it also has some very nice sex and nails the behind the scenes sitcom style better than most other adult films I've seen that have attempted it.

The Extra Stuff

Hurley's Casting Couch lasts about a minute and a half with Dave interviewing a watermelon. Hurley Needs a Fluffer lasts a little under two minutes with Dave asking Presley for a bit of help. There's some nice amusement in each of the scenes, but it's also easy to see why each of them was cut. That said, their inclusion does add a bit to the overall DVD.

When slightly overweight middle aged dirty blonde Molly heads inside to have some paperwork signed by Mark, He quickly throws the papers aside before walking around her to check her out including pulling up her skirt and removing her top and bra. Currently, many of Marie Madison's movies are available on her website for about $20. Although I think this series is going to be a bit hit or miss for people, this is a pretty fair price for what you get here. The movie is light and fun and there's some decent care put into the technical aspects and extras even if they don't always work out the best. If this release seems interesting to you, make sure you check it out.

Note to Marie Madison: Things seem to be coming together for the series with this installment. It definitely has me looking forward to more in the future.
