The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects leave a bit to be desired. The audio is normally well balanced and clear, but there are a few areas which feel a touch rough. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen, and is the bigger problem with the technical aspects. There's quite a bit of pixelation along with some camera motion and lighting imbalances. There's a fairly amateur feel to the presentation as well, but it's right on the edge of the lower end of professional porn.

Music: The music is nicely done and pops up throughout the movie. It varies in style a little as it does, but is always nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The main menu is pretty simple and just gives a few stills with the choices. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a still and title for each scene.

The Feature

Inside Marie's Play Place takes an adult sitcom look inside Marie Madison's website. From combating stress to keeping moral up to just putting out adult scenes, Inside Marie's Play Place makes its way around the office and sets taking a sexy and fun look behind the scenes.

While the guys take care of business, Marie takes little heavily tattooed brunette Presley back to see her new sex toy. This is a pretty good scene. There's great chemistry between the girls and I love how they each have their own personality come through the scene with Marie getting into it quietly and internally while Presley pretty much lets it all out. The scene moves at a nice pace and although the camera work is pretty basic, it does work well for the scene. This is a pretty good scene to start the movie.

After Mark goes around letting everybody know that the fan club has reached a thousand members, he walks out back where Marie is waiting blindfolded with her hands behind her back and on her knees. This is a nicely done oral scene. Brad gets into it pretty well and there's a touch of humor with her thinking that her “squirter” is broken. I also really liked how this was an oral scene that focused on the girl rather than having it focus on the guy like 99.9% of the other oral sex scenes out there do. This is a simple scene, but one that works well.

When the scheduled male talent flakes, Dave steps up to the plate to take on Presley. After an intentionally cheesy delivery boy opening, Dave shows Presley where the meat for her sandwich is by whipping away his apron and lets her go to work mouthing his manhood. Dave was obviously trying to be the cheesy porn star reciting his line, but it ended up annoying me instead of amusing me. This isn't a bad scene, but it just didn't work for me.

Inside Marie's Play Place is an okay start for Marie Madison's internet based adult sitcom. There's a lot about it that was hit or miss for me, both with the sex as well as the overall plot. Inside Marie's Play Place reminded me a bit of the movies people put together when they're first getting into making movies when they're using their friends for everything they do. The humor is hit or miss, but often has a feeling that it's personal and if you're not in the group you don't fully get it. That feeling is increased with this being an entertainment industry comedy, which is a genre notorious for having a small audience even when it's done extremely well. The cast does a pretty good job with it and looks like they're having fun, but they're never quite able to take it past that beginner amateur feeling, which is largely due to camera work that's plagued by motion, background noises, and pixelation. Sexually the movie does better, with Jade Houston's scene easily being the shining star in the movie. Presley Scott also does a nice job and Marie Madison does a very nice job with a blowjob scene as well as taking on Presley and Jade. Once again the camera work has a rough edge that didn't always work the best for me, but the chemistry and natural feeling to the scenes really helped the scenes to rise about some of its limitations. Inside Marie's Play Place is far from a great release, but it does have some very enjoyable moments and as the start of a new direction for Marie Madison it shows some good potential that left me more than curious about future installments.

Currently, many of Marie Madison's movies are available on her website for about $20. This one leaves me a little torn. I can see it working well for many people but I'd expect others to not get a lot of replay value from it. If you've enjoyed Marie's movies in the past I'd recommend picking it up, but others might want to check out her website and VOD areas a bit to see if they think it'd work for them. There is some good sex and effort put into the extras, but the technical aspects leave a bit to be desired. This is a decent release.

Note to Marie Madison: I know there were plenty of things that held this one back for me, but you do show a lot of potential for an opening release of a new series and it's great to see you paying such good attention to the overall DVD rather than just slapping a movie onto a desk and shoving it out the door.
