Initial Expectations: It’s a Wicked release. Nuff said.
Initial Reaction: Ugh! I think this is the worst Wicked release I’ve seen.
Audio /Video Quality: The audio has quite a bit of wind or some other background noise. It’s a kind of fuzz throughout the entire movie. The video is what I’d consider good VHS quality. It’s slightly grainy and it isn’t helped by the bad lighting in most of the movie. There’s also a lot of pixelation flashes towards the end of the movie.
Music: To call it cheesy would be a compliment. It ranges from well balanced to extremely overpowering.
Review: Inferno tries to get by on the charm of leading lady Teri Weigel, which seems kind of strange as this is her first movie. Teri had a huge following, and she shows a lot of talent in Inferno . Unfortunately, that’s about the only thing that’s above average. The premise of the movie revolves around it being really hot. No, not sexually hot. Temperature hot. As usual when things get really hot people like to walk around naked and screw or they’re really ornery and fight a lot. That’s the entire premise and yes, the movie sadly ends up about as bad as it sounds because there’s just as much fighting as there is screwing.
The cast is led by Teri, who is married to Joey Silvera but cheating on him with Mark Wallice. Joey in turn, is cheating on Teri with April, who looks very hot in the white lingerie she wears during her scene. April is the only good thing Joey thinks he has in his life. Joey’s deadbeat brother (Joey Murphy) and his wife (Ashley Nicole) also live with Joey and Teri but don’t do anything to help out, which adds to Teri’s frustration. The only satisfaction she gets out of them is watching them go at it in the first scene of the movie while she rubs an ice cube across her body. Also in the mix are Teri’s friend Alicyn Sterling and Murrill Maglio, a stalker / beach bum who’s looking for any work he can find. With the exception of Alicyn, who was very sultry, I can’t really say if I ever cared if any of these people actually fucked or not. I actually felt the urge to vacuum my living room while watching Inferno . I admit that porn is normally intended to give guys certain urges, but I never thought housework was to be one of them.
Although she wasn’t great here, I can see why people liked Teri Weigel. She is cute and has good energy. Better yet, she’s very vocal. For her first movie she really shows a lot of talent and potential. She does a better job here in her first movie that many other ladies do after a hundred. Fans are sure to like her here, as she has two scenes and spends much of the rest of the movie rubbing ice cubes all over her body. Her first scene is with the repulsive Marc Wallice, and the other is with Alicyn and Murrill. The Wallice scene was okay, but hampered by the presence of Marc Wallice. The scene with Alicyn and Murrill was much better. Murrill brought it down a little as I thought he was even more unattractive than I normally find guys. I’m not sure if he’s that good of an actor or really was an out of work bum. He also reminded me of Devin Wolf, who I never cared much for. Alicyn is a fiery redhead with some great heat. She’s the only person in the movie who had me looking forward to their scene shortly after they took the screen. The scene starts out with Alicyn and Teri working each other over while Murrill does the windows at the other end of the room. Of course, things don’t last too long before he notices two good looking women going at it on the other side of the room and decides he’d like to make a deposit for his daily pay. It’s a better than average scene, but sadly the only one of its kind in Inferno .
I can’t say that I didn’t get anything out of watching Inferno. First, I got my living room vacuumed. Second, I gained a great appreciation of Wicked’s movies of today. Inferno lists X - Citement Video Productions as the maker of the movie. I can only assume that Wicked evolved from X - Citement. If so, it’s the biggest step in evolution since man quit swinging in the trees. If not, I can only pray that they bought the rights to Inferno without seeing the movie.
There is one positive thing about Inferno. It actually has credits at the end of the movie. They’re not just a list of everybody in the movie, either. Everybody is listed along with who they played in the credits as well as the crew. Thank you. It makes reviewing the movies easier for me as well as letting me know of any performers I’d really like to see more of or avoid in the future.
Extras: The slide show is automated lasting about a minute and a half with four seconds per shot. It’s a mix of full screen shots and snap shots. Almost all of them are very grainy. The bios are for Teri Weigel, Ashley Nicole, Alicyn Sterling, and April Rayne. They’re a little different from the normal Wicked style but still have the usual information. Trailers are included for The Kissing Game, Crossroads, Spellbound, and Heart & Soul . Of course, there’s also web site info, company profile, Wicked Casino (DVD-ROM), and AVN winners and nominations
Themes: Straight, lesbian, group, anal, voyeurism, and tit-fucking
Raincoat Factor: Medium
Overall: Currently, Inferno can be found online for between $23 and $29 with many stores offering it for under $25. If you’re a huge fan of one of the stars, rent it. I think this DVD is one of the biggest rip-offs out there right now.
Note to Wicked: This is another title that you should analyze your pricing structure for. It’s not up to your normal quality and I’m really disappointed in it.
