Imma Youjo: The Erotic Temptress 5: The Extent of their Collections (NuTech) Review

Initial Expectations: The rest of the series was pretty good overall and quite different. I’m hoping for more of the same here, although I’d like a little more consensual sex.

Initial Reaction: It’s okay but the weakest of the series.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of science fiction, mythology, and porno.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants to see consensual sex all the time.

Audio /Video Quality: Both the audio and video are very good but aren’t quite up to the previous episodes. Many scenes are done by panning across an image to give an animation effect rather than actually going to the work of animating each panel.

Music: The music has the feel of a lot of anime. It fits the feature very well and adds a lot of emotion to it.

Menus: There’s some decent animation that fits the feature pretty well.

The Feature: Those that have watch a little adult anime (not to be confused with enema which has a lot of the same letters) learn that it can be kind of an icky thing. Sometimes it’s handled very well, as in , but most times it’s not, such as in Cool Devices, Operations: 1- 4 . It doesn’t, however, normally just sneak up on you. It jumps right out at you like it does in Imma Youjo: The Erotic Temptress 5 . When the opening image is a girl with her tongue and nipples pierced, and each piercing has a string pulling it in a different direction while a large group of people watch, you know it’s probably going to be one of those icky ones more along the lines of the Cool Devices series. It does help to set up the story well, but that doesn’t mean it’s that likeable.

This time around Maya has just been hired as a new maid for a wealthy Japanese businessman, Master Ayanakoji, in a fairly traditional Japanese society. Of course, her duties go far beyond the normal duties of a maid and the society isn’t too traditional. It just looks that way from the outside. Unbeknownst to Maya, in addition to being a maid, she’s also considered part of the businessman’s collection of living sex toys who perform at his parties. The only hope she has is the Master’s son, Masao, who sees his dead mother in her. When another member of the Master’s collection fails at a show, he decides that he will debut Maya at another show in a week, despite his son’s love for her. Masao, however, might not let Maya end up with the same fate as his mother.

Unlike the other episodes in the Imma Youjo: The Erotic Temptress series, this episode falls short on plot. In the other episodes the plot drove most of the feature and made some of the icky sex stuff more tolerable. This episode isn’t quite as icky as the others, despite how the opening appears, but the plot also falls short. It feels weak, kind of like most sequels. It doesn’t have the same energy or sexuality the others do.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts about a minute, but seemed cut off. (In his review, reviewersaid it lasted about two minutes). On the plus side, I thought it looked very good. There’s also company info, a new release website link, and subtitle control.

The second side of the DVD contains trailers for the Cool Devices series, the La Blue Girl series, Twin Angels , and Venus 5 . It’s a nice format. The first screen tells you about the feature and you can choose whether you want to view the trailer or not.

Overall: Currently, Imma Youjo: The Erotic Temptress 5 can be found online for between $13 and $25 with a few stores offering it for under $15. The transfer appears to be very good but there isn’t much for extras. This is the weakest of the episodes, so I wouldn’t recommend paying close to the low price unless you’re finishing out a collection.

Note to NuTech: It’s a decent feature, but it seems short for the price since there’s virtually no extras. It would be a lot better if there was more than one episode per DVD, such as with the La Blue Girl and Cool Devices series.
