Story: Odds are someone was watching Star Trek when then came up with the idea of Hologram. Who hasn't seen one of those crappy holodeck episodes and fantasized about what you'd do in your own holodeck?

Hologram tells the story of 3 guys who take their friend to a new sex club called “Hologram” for his birthday. Somehow, the makers of Hologram have harnessed the power of the holodeck to create realistic sexual adventures for their patrons. Drag queen extraordinaire Gender plays the proprietress of Hologram, and explains all the rules to our four hunky studs.

What I liked
I absolutely loved the first scene! There's a single glass shower stall standing in the middle of a pitch black room, where Rod Phillips and some dark haired honey have some of the steamiest shower sex I've ever seen!

Randall Maxxon's hologram fantasy involves 2 tighty-whities clad hunks making out under a brilliant chandelier. It's another great scene, and while a few of the hairdos are questionable, the sex is always interesting.

Zak Spears' fantasy is easily the nastiest of the bunch. He has a low-down little piggy orgy with 3 other guys in some dark, dank alley. Very hot stuff, which ends with Zak getting completely covered with a “cum-like” substance until his entire body is one big gooey mess.

The reluctant birthday boy finally gets his turn, but there's a cute little twist to it, that I won't spoil here. It's another very solid scene starring 2 handsome stallions.

Overall, I thought the story was very well done, and added a lot to the flick. Gender (who also wrote the script) did a great job, but depending on how you feel about drag queens, will either freak you out or crack you up. I personally thought she was hysterical!

What I didn't like
My main beef with Hologram is the goofy camera antics that went on during Zak's scene. For some reason, this scene is all done in black and white, blue tones or brown tones. It's still a great scene, but would have been better had they just used normal colors. I could see how some people may have problems looking past all the color weirdness, though. The quick-cut, out-of-sequence, MTV-style editing is a little much, here too.

Audio/Visual Quality
Some of the non-sex sequences look really grainy, but thankfully all the sex stuff is pretty clear.

Extras
Chi Chi does another interesting commentary, but once again, only talks between the sex. There's also a slideshow and previews from other HIS DVDs.

Final Word
I've actually had this one on VHS for a couple years now, but haven't seen it in ages. I was pretty excited to get it on DVD, and I have to say, it's really held up well. It's a cute story and I enjoyed all four scenes (which is rare). As a budget title, Hologram delivers pretty much all you can ask for. Hot guys in very good to excellent scenes. Check it out!
