As Hustler tries to bill High Octane as some kind of porno film noir series
(which it may well be in other editions, I don't know) I expected to have
to write about the story as well as the sex. But seeing as director Patrick
Handsome just lets the plot about the kidnap of a businessman's wife sink
without trace amid the gaggle of gorgeous girls, so I shall do likewise
in the review.
Suffice to say the story is barely worthy of the name, and the acting,
with European performers dubbed over by American voice "talent", is of
the "why bother" variety - the dubbing of the movie and the careless attribution
(or otherwise) of credits being indicative of Hustler's apparent desire
to homogenise their European-sourced products. So I shall simply focus
on the bulk of the movie, which is all about some undeniably gorgeous
women, and a lot of sex.
Julia
One of the problems here is the lack of accurate credits. Whoever put
together the chapter menu, for example, failed to notice that the striking
slim brunette girl with long braided hair who stars in this scene also
appears in the final scene - it's the same girl, different hairstyles,
that's all! Doh! Anyway, Julia, as I'll call her for now, is the mistress
of a business guy (played by the fellow I know as Gary, from Christoph
Clark's movies), and they get together over his desk. He hungrily sucks
her tits before she shoots him sexy glances as she drops to give a blowjob.
Sadly, she has more tattoos than I care for but I can't deny she's very
pretty indeed, and the vibe is good as he pulls her panties aside and
licks her pussy.
Missionary sex perhaps lacks urgency, but at least there's the chance
to admire her super legs in black stockings. A move to doggy picks up
the pace; a move to reverse cowgirl shows off her jutting breasts. Okay,
so she doesn't look as excited as she sounds and as he moves her sexy
body into spoons I am beginning to wonder more about her pubic hair -
perhaps the most pointlessly tiny bush, or more of a speck really, that

the worst scene I have witnessed.
Maria
It's on this horse-riding trip that the businessman's wife trots off and
is kidnapped, though that isn't shown. What is shown is a fairly tasty
encounter between the wife's riding partner and a muscular stable lad
(who looks like a skinhead thug to me). Maria, if that's her name (as
Wetmartini
observes, she seems to be one of the girls from that excellent "Stacy
& Lyudmylla" scene in Toni Ribas' excellent Leg Love), is a very sexy
brunette with small boobs and a really knockout ass in those jodhpurs,
which are soon pulled down to reveal suspender tights under them. She's
womanly, confident and sexy, and there's a real spark as the pair get
together. The scene is all outdoors, and plays on the idea of them being
caught "on the job."
Maria's fabulous rear is on show as she kneels to suck the guy's cock
and the guy shows he isn't is dumb as he looks as he presses his face
into that heavenly bum to tongue ass and pussy. She still has her riding
boots on as he takes her in a standing doggy, one leg raised. Again, I
can't help saying "what an ass!" as they move to reverse cowgirl, the
sex possessing decent energy. However, I couldn't help but notice a large
spot on the guy's dick. Makes me wonder - she rides away regardless. As

Now
I do know this girl - it's Nikki Montana, the cute little thing who impressed
me a lot back in True Anal Stories 14. She plays the businessman's daughter,
who gets it on with her boyfriend. That's pretty irrelevant, of course
- it's just another boy-girl scene. "Teresa" is pretty, has streaked blonde
hair, a nice body with perky tits and fine legs. There's some good kissing,
oddly enough, between the pair (the guy is a young fellow in good shape,
but I don't know his name) before some exchanges of oral sex.
One thing I should note is that the dubbed dialogue seems to give way
to "live" sound during the sex scenes - a good thing as it lets you hear
the lovely little noises she makes during sex. With a crafty POV blowjob
shot as an interlude between positions, it's quite well done and the scene
features the first anal of the movie. Indeed there's plenty ass banging
in a few potions and she coos her way through the lot until she tosses
his weak load on her face. It's fairly energetic stuff, but somehow it
just didn't grab me.
Antonia
Two burly musclemen, the brawn of the kidnap gang, entertain themselves
at their hide out by giving their hostage a good old shagging - with her
full consent, I should add. She is bound hand and foot and blindfolded,
but she can still reach out to free stud one's cock from his pants and
guide it into her impressively greedy mouth. Stud two meanwhile busies
himself with her pussy and ass, so she's on her hands and knees, sucking
cock while being fingered, and then with bonds and blindfold removed,
she's taken properly in the same position.
However, even with the blindfold off, we hardly see a decent shot of her
face. I can tell you she's all blonde, tan, wriggly, and damn sexy (again,
thanks to Wetmartini's
excellent review of this movie, with sterling work in the ID department,
I gather that she is Moonlight, who performed so admirably in Orgy World
2 - I am not sure I saw her face long enough to tell!). "Fuck me in the

ass a real pounding. Not to be outdone, his buddy takes the chance to

The position helps to show off her tanned body, before a double penetration
- the sex here is the hardest of the movie. She gets the guys off by hand,
mouth and enthusiasm, but even as the spunk flies, we still don't see
her face clearly.
Betty and Silvia
Who is meant to be who here? One of the girls is in fact "Julia" from
the first scene; she just has her hair up. The other is a very, very pretty
brunette who looks faintly like Cassidey/Paisley. Both seem tall, are
definitely slim and have great legs. The scene starts with the kidnappers
remarkably dilatory about preparations to get away - Nikki's boyfriend
is one of them, and he comes on to Julia, who responds with a blowjob.
He takes her doggy, while the other girl watches and uses a vibrator.
Like Wetmartini, I was dying to see her actually get into the action for
real, but her first proper involvement is a blowjob before Julia continues
to monopolise the dick, riding reverse cowgirl. Again, I can't help but
wonder why she's spoiled her wonderful natural beauty with nasty tattoos.
There's just no accounting for taste.
At last we see the other girl, her glorious bum in full view, as she takes
it rather firmly in cowgirl. Julia uses a dildo as she watches the other

Overall
There are two sides to this movie. It's a cheap production with a worthless
story that's just forgotten about by the end (even though they waste time
on "dramatic" scenes), and the direction of the sex scenes is generally
much more static than I prefer - they do tend to plough away in one position
for too long. More movement, more spontaneity and interaction between
the performers would be good.
On the other hand, director Handsome spends the meagre budget in the right
areas - the female cast is very attractive indeed and the girls are nearly
always shown off in a flattering light (more of "Antonia's" face would
have helped, though). The male stars look amazingly well cast in their
hoodlum roles too! It's certainly not the hardest movie ever made, but
I can live with that.
High Octane 9 is not exactly the sort of thing I wholeheartedly appreciate…well;
here we go into the "damned by faint praise" zone again. A lukewarm recommendation?
A guarded welcome? Well, if hiring extremely pretty girls earns you stars,
then High Octane 9 gets them for that. I don't like to second guess what
other people will go for in a porn movie, but my view is that while the
eye candy is sweet, I prefer a bit of spice to go with it. And that's
nothing to do with perceived hardness of the sex - it's all about passion,
lust, call it what you will.
DVD Comments
The extras are so-so: a very modest photo gallery, an interview with Patrick
Handsome which contains as many clips for other movies in the series as
it does quotes from the man himself, trailers, and so on. Hustler's discs
always annoy and delight in equal measures - the neat chapter menus contrast
with adverts (one for some kind of herbal Viagra, starring Ron Jeremy,
is so daft, it must be a spoof). Who puts adverts on their DVDs? Come
on. Picture and sound quality are good.
