Tarantino XXX's Grindhouse XXX 2 claims to be a spoof of Robert Rodriquez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse and an unauthorized sequel to Andre Madness and David Lord's Grindhouse XXX that was released by Adam & Eve. Where Grindhouse XXX made two original adult movies spoofing the grindhouse exploitation genre Grindhouse XXX 2 — which has no connection to Adam & Eve, Andre Madness, or David Lord — appears to try to take on directly Rodriquez and Tarantino's work.

Rodriquez and Tarantino made two “grindhouse” style feature films and put them together with fake trailers for other non-existent “grindhouse” films. What Tarantino XXX presents here is a hodgepodge of ideas, none of which were ever fully realized before they were shot and assembled for this movie. What Tarantino XXX gives the viewer is three fake “trailers” and a something else, none of which is a feature length movie, although one of the trailers manages to run for almost the length of a feature length adult movie.

First up in Grindhouse XXX 2 is a fake trailer for a movie called “Big Black Shaft.” Tarantino XXX actually manages to trick the viewer at first into believing that he has created a fake porn trailer spoofing 70s blacksploitation films. The trick quickly fades away when the “trailer” quickly goes into a full-blown 22-minute sex scene with Chris Cock and Bella-Nikole Black that spoofs nothing and looks very modern including a plastic water bottle sitting on a table. The sex scene for “Big Black Shaft” may be one of the cut scenes from the original version of It's a Gangbang Fu!

Tarantino XXX has, presumably, shot Grindhouse XXX 2 digitally and has added fake aging to the movie with added effects to resemble print damage and dirt. He has also added fake handwritten editing marks in the movie, which one normally doesn't see on a film print for some reason. The “Big Black Shaft” segment also has some sort of fake aging making some of the colors hyper-colorful. This reviewer understands the use of damaged film effect in the movie since the effect was used in Grindhouse. This reviewer just wishes it was done better in this movie because the fake handwritten editing marks doesn't fit well and the effect is on a loop so it is exactly the same each time.

The second segment is “Machete XXX,” which presents itself as a spoof of the trailer from Grindhouse. However, if Tarantino XXX was trying to spoof a trailer, he missed by a long shot as the spoof trailer manages to run for 51-minutes, the longest of any of the four segments present in Grindhouse XXX 2. It also contains the most plot of any segments contained here, a whopping three minutes at the most. However, note, this is being presented as a fake trailer, not a feature.

“Machete XXX” suffers from some of the standard issues that Tarantino XXX has riddled through his movies. The direction has been left in the movie instead of being edited out. There is some horrible green screen work along with some absolutely horrible CGI effects. The gun on Machete XXX's motorcycle rarely stays attached to the motorcycle and is more often floating on the screen somewhere. Even the clerical collar worn by the padre appears to have been added later and always seems off as well. These are just some examples of the horrible CGI and green screen work. The narration is literally cut off mid-sentence and cuts back in later where the cut was.

Tarantino XXX has actually managed to get adult film legend Nina Hartley in the movie, unfortunately, he partially wastes her. As any long time fan of adult movies knows, not only is Nina skilled at sexual performances but she is also skilled in non-sex performances. Tarantino XXX tries to turn her appearance into a joke about the last presidential election with a spoof of the election adverts at the end making her Hilrod Clinton. However, this just comes across as a mess since remember, we are in the middle of the world's longest spoof of a trailer still. He also has managed to get noted adult movie non-sex character actor James Bartholet, as the Padre, but wastes him by having him in literally 30-seconds of the movie.

The third segment is another fake trailer for “Fuck,” which is probably the best aspect of Grindhouse XXX 2. While the black and white segment mostly consists of just a sex scene with Tarantino XXX and Zoey Portland and runs for 21-minutes, it appears to be wholly original to Tarantino XXX. There was no real plot to this segment but I liked the atmosphere created and the sex scene was good. This reviewer wishes that Tarantino XXX had worked on expanding this idea more.

The fourth, and final segment, of Grindhouse XXX 2 is “Fuck Proof,” which one would assume is supposed to be a spoof of the Death Proof film in the original Grindhouse film by Quentin Tarantino. However, anyone who is expecting this assumption to be correct will be sorely disappointed by the “Fuck Proof” segment as the segment is nothing but 49-minutes of sex scenes with some shots of the dashboard of a car mixed in for no known reason since this segment has absolutely no plot at all. Not even the hint of one. The technical issues continue with the camera even appearing to get hit at one point.

Not all of the sex scenes included in the “Fuck Proof” segment were shot for Grindhouse XXX 2 even. The scene with Leo Supernova, billed as Vincent in the end credits, and Tori Avano, billed as Butterfly in the end credits, originally was part of Tarantino XXX's Pulp Fiction XXX, that was released in a final cut version under the name Porn Fiction, sans the Supernova and Avano scene along with other scenes.

The other characters that appear in “Fuck Proof” from the Quentin Tarantino universe are Ordell (Chris Cock), from Jackie Brown, in a scene with Jungle Julie (Lotus Lain as Jungle Joolia), and Pam (Zoey Portland as Pam) with Stuntman Mike (Tarantino XXX as Stuntcock Mike). Don't worry that one of the characters is ripped completely out of a different film by Quentin Tarantino as the only place you will find out who is playing who (with the exception of Leo Supernova who is clearly ripped out of Pulp Fiction) is in the credits when they tell you. Other than that, the sex scenes in “Fuck Proof” could literally be dropped into any generic all sex movie and no one would be the wiser.

As far as the sex scenes go, this is an adult movie don't forget, some are hit and some are miss. The first scene, from “Big Black Shaft” with Bella-Nikole Black and Chris Cock, is pretty good but could have used some editing to tighten it up a bit. Also the dog tags Bella-Nikole is wearing clanking together got old fast. As are the first and second scenes of “Machete XXX” with Tarantino XXX and Katrina Zova and Tarantino XXX and Nina Hartley respectively. The scene with Tarantino XXX and Nina Hartley runs for a better overall length than the rest of the sex scenes in the movie. The sex scene from “Fuck” with Tarantino XXX and Zoey Portland is also good.

Tarantino XXX has the beginnings of some great ideas in Grindhouse XXX 2. However, all of them come from the original content that he made for the movie, not what he was copying or filling up with all sex scenes. Unfortunately, he never fully developed his good ideas and possibly also uses some recycled footage in places that probably should have been shot new for the movie. The original material works better than the parody material. Also figuring out if something is going to be a trailer or feature would be good. Turning a trailer into a piece longer than 50 minutes ultimately creates a feature without the plot. The technical details need to be strengthened too. It is far better to work within the budget than to use poor effects as they destroy any sense of suspension of disbelief the movie has created and made the entire project look amateurish. Unfortunately, all of these aspects hit Grindhouse XXX 2 very hard making it hard to recommend to fans of the feature genre. Some of the sex scenes aren't bad but it is still hard to recommend this movie.

The edition of Grindhouse XXX 2 screened is the streaming edition available at TarantinoXXX.com. The edition at TarantinoXXX.com appears to be the same version that is streaming at other VOD sites as well. Grindhouse XXX 2 is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 720p, 480p, and 240p. Grindhouse XXX 2 appears to have been shot digitally. Despite being available in three definition levels, Grindhouse XXX 2 appears to only be in 240p no matter which definition one selects. This could be due to poor internet connections on the day the movie was screened or the movie may have very low definition video only. Other than the definition issue and damage that was purposely added there are no other issues with the video quality. For “Machete XXX” and “Fuck Proof” there is a bug consisting of a yellow box with Tarantino XXX and the A Porn Apart logo in the lower right-hand corner. For “Big Black Shaft” and “Fuck” there is a bug consisting of the A Porn Apart logo in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

Grindhouse XXX 2 is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo audio track. There doesn't appear to be any issues with the audio and the dialog is clear and easily understood.

Tarantino XXX hasn't included any extras for this release.

Grindhouse XXX 2 claims to be a parody of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse and an unauthorized sequel to Andre Madness and David Lord's Grindhouse XXX from Adam & Eve. Sadly, Grindhouse XXX 2 doesn't live up to either mostly trying to spoof Grindhouse with a 51-minute spoof of the Machete trailer from Grindhouse called “Machete XXX” and a 49-minute all-sex “spoof” of Death Proof, called “Fuck Proof,” that is just a string of unconnected sex scenes. It has probably become clear at this point that Grindhouse XXX 2 suffers from huge plot issues, however, it also contains a multitude of technical issues. Some of the sex scenes aren't bad but they could have used some tighter editing. Tarantino XXX's release has some issues with what appears to be a low definition picture but good audio with no extras.
