NOTE ON CAST IDENTIFICATION:  Jim Powers tends to cast his own stable of male performers in his videos.  They don't tend to be the best looking guys in porn, and because they aren't often featured by other studios, I really don't know who's who.  My apologies to the men, as they are as much a part of the movie as the girls, but I'm not going to try to identify them by scene.  It would take too much time and effort, for very little reward.

PREFACE:
Jim Powers is a sentimental favorite director of mine.  He was one of the first to start shooting some of the more aggressive sex that I really enjoy, and to shoot the women I like to see doing it.  Besides that, he has a very hit or miss sense of humor that is uniquely inseparable from the kind of sex he likes to shoot.  At times his work can be too hard, kinky and perverted for my tastes, but other times he hits the mark beautifully with some extremely intense and enjoyable scenes, peopled by some absolutely insatiable performers.  One of the downsides of Jim Powers, though is that his video is always very raw, and his production values are sometimes questionable.  I often find fault with his more creative and somewhat amateurish use of over-saturated lighting, which can detract from the simple beauty of the often very attractive young performers he likes to cast in his movies.  Some of my favorite Jim Powers work includes among others, Chamber of Whores with Caroline Pierce and Alison Chains, Gutter Mouths #9 with Alex Dane, White Trash Whore #16 with Kelsey Heart and Mirage (A.K.A. Briana Banks), as well as a few titles from the Babysitter and Naughty Little Nymphos series'.  Producer Jeff Steward and Jim Powers have worked together at JM Productions for many years, and have a reputation for a very hard edge, including a few titles that I don't care for at all--most notably the Gag Factor series.  I don't watch much from them anymore since I've educated myself and found better and more consistent studios, but I still have to get my Jim Powers fix every once in a while...

INTRODUCTION:
What better way to get my Jim Powers fix than with a movie that caters to some of my own personal fantasies and features two of my current favorite female performers?  Girlvert #2 is a sequel to Girlvert (a movie I haven't seen yet), and is based on the premise of a small young girl, dominating the hell out of other girls (and boys for the that matter) while not being afraid to get dominated herself.  I have so far passed on the original Girlvert because I hadn't seen enough of Keegan Skky (the main performer) to generate enough interest for me.  However, Girlvert #2 features Ashley Blue, who I not only find beautiful--with an absolutely perfect pair of small breasts and a small frame that won't quit--but I've seen her turn in some fucking amazing performances.  One of the most notable of them was in Service Animals #10.  The prospect of watching Ashley as the Girlvert is just too tempting to pass up, and the deal clincher is that Julie Night is one of the Girlvert's "victims" in this installment.  I'm sold.  Hopefully Jeff and Jim won't disappoint this time, and some of my own  "boy-vert" fantasies will take shape before my very eyes.

There aren't many reviews of this title, but I believe in offering differing points of view so that those who don't share my tastes can make a more informed decision.  The one and only Roger T. SCENE 1:
ASHLEY BLUE & JULIE NIGHT
The Girls
These are two of my current favorite performers.  Ashley Blue is a small, unconventionally beautiful girl with a pair of amazingly cute breasts and shoulder length dark brown hair that for the entirety of this video is up in pigtails.  Even more importantly, Ashley is an amazing sexual performer, who genuinely seems to like the rough stuff.  She shows a great deal of emotion during her scenes, and has even been known to cry due to the intensity of the sex she participates in.  I love to watch her very generous performances.  She's a special young woman who seems unusually comfortable with her sexuality.  Julie Night is very similar to Ashley in this respect.  Although not quite as attractive, Julie still has an enigmatic beauty about her that comes more from her sexual performance than her physical looks.  Like Ashley, Julie enjoys very dominant sex, and she gives the sense that she's allowing the viewer into a personal and emotional world when she performs.  It's amazing to watch, albeit sometimes it can be disturbing as well.  Julie is looking nice here, with pony tails and a plaid school girl skirt.

The Action
After Ashley gets in front of a video camera, donning a flashing "REC" icon, she reads from a little script and is happy to tell her mom a thing or two.  She says she's making this video for her and calls her mom all kinds of nasty names.  After I accepted that this is of course, fictional, I actually found it quite funny.  After a short title sequence, Ashley is seen running out of her mom's house and into her boyfriends car.  After some rather damn funny dialogue about pork rinds and bear, the two misfits spot Julie Night while stopped at a light.  Ashley is delightfully venomous in everything she does, and actually goes far enough in her acting to create a delightfully crazy and perverted little character.  I find it damn funny and rather enjoyable to hear Ashley talk like she does here, and I'm never left with any doubt that it's a fictional situation.  The two stop by Julie and Ashley convinces her to get in the car with her less than lady-like behavior.  She then continues to endorse the various advantages of the pork rind/beer combination.  It's funny... and it's damn dirty--just the way I like it.

Back at the house, Julie emerges from the bathroom only to encounter Ashley's boyfriend holding a bag of pork rinds.  He offers her some, and she refuses.  He then feels her up and offers her a dick to suck.  She again rebuffs him, and retreats to the bedroom where Ashley is in a rousingly spiteful phone discussion with her mom.  Again, I find some of this laugh out loud funny, and even though it's not sex, I find it worth mentioning because it further defines Ashley's relentless girlvert "character".  Julie confides to Ashley that her boyfriend tried to have sex with her, Ashley predictably takes this the wrong way and decides to punish Julie for trying to steal her boyfriend.  The sex then begins full force.

Ashley pretty much attacks Julie, and slaps her around a bit.  She calls her every name in the book--concentrating on the slut/whore genre of insults and then promptly pulls a strap on out of a nearby drawer.  She makes Julie suck it, and gag on it in a rather animated and forceful manner.  It's really great damn footage, and if I didn't know that Julie was well into this kind of stuff, I might be worried about her.  Ashley is a trash talking machine and totally gives it as well as she can get it, and Julie seems up to the challenge.  The boyfriend walks in and contributes his cock to the menu as Julie is made to suck and deep throat both.  Ashley lends the occasional deep throat assist before telling Julie that it's going to be straight to the A-hole for her.

Boyfriend is the first to get Julie's ass in the doggy position, which she does claim to like even as they continue to dominate her fully.  Ashley gets Julie's mom on the phone and makes Julie tell her that she's getting fucked in the ass and likes it.  After some more intense doggy ass fucking, Julie takes both the real and the rubber dick in the pile driver position, followed by some A2M.  Ashley takes over the ass fucking with her strap on and Julie does some gaping.  I wish they'd invested in a higher quality strap on, as this one seems to need a fair amount of hand assistance and guidance and isn't snug on Ashley's waist.  Oh well.  What'r'y'gonna'do?  Ashley ass fucks Julie while putting her shoe on her face.  It's DAMN dominant, and to me... damn sexy.  I can see where a lot of people would be quite offended by this, but although Julie is very submissive, I do get the feeling that she totally enjoys giving up control and allowing herself to be sexually dominated.  If it were anyone else, I might be concerned, but Julie is quite special in this regard and I really enjoy watching her.  Ashley can dish it out too, boy.  It's all anal, all the time as boyfriend finally fucks Julie missionary before coming all over Ashley's shoe.  Julie is then made to lick it off, and I may be going to hell, but I'm havin' a fuckin' orgasm and that is the end of the story.

The Gist
In my estimation, this is dominant sex at its best.  Many would disagree and call this type of stuff disturbing and socially irresponsible, but I loved it.  Ashley is perfectly cast, and I think I can say right now that I would very much enjoy her reprise as the Girlvert in volume number three.  She can dish out rough sex as good as she gets it, and is such a cutey besides.  There was no real choking, which is one of the only things about the rougher stuff that I have a real problem with, and although I could have done with less slapping, what was there wasn't too terribly bad.  I could be naive in thinking that Julie likes this type of sex, but I've met her personally--talked to her face to face, and I really believe that this type of sex is right up her alley.  Full consentuality of the performers is of utmost importance to me, and I was not left worried about that here.  What I did see was intense sex, out of control trash talk, and an anal pounding that would make most raincoaters stand up and salute.  What's more, the lead up was damn funny in the classic Jim Powers style.  Ultimately, I orgasmed, and that alone gives this scene my nod as an exceptional one.

ASHLEY BLUE & JASMINE LYNN
The Girls

The Gist
This is a damn hot scene.  If I hadn't held myself back because of the knowledge that Ashley would soon be fucking her own "man whores" I would have cum at the conclusion of this scene was well.  Jasmine was extraordinarily energetic and so was her "man whore", and she  seemed to be completely comfortable with this almost all anal scene.  She looked damn hot, and Ashley was damn hot as well.  There's nothing more to say--by my tastes, and from what I could see, this scene rocked.

ASHLEY BLUE
The Action

The Gist
I say this, and I say it with the utmost respect.  Ashley is an amazing fuck.  That said, this is definitely not the best Ashley Blue scene I've ever seen.  There were a number of real problems with this scene that really got in the way.  None of them had to do with Ashley.  The camera work was static, boring and concentrated on the wrong things.  While I was looking to see shots of Ashley's beautiful body and face, I was stuck watching long uninterrupted genital-cam work as the two faceless dicks worked their double penetration magic.  While I wanted to see Ashley deep throat cock, like I know she's totally capable of, I was stuck watching the guy do all the work.  While I'm certainly not opposed to a little throat fucking, Ashley is a great performer, and I wanted to see her actively bring those dicks home.  There was very little of that though, and that was a bummer.  On the bright side, Ashley is beautiful, nasty, cute, and above all, into it.  I love to watch her, even if the otherwise intense action was pretty much ineptly captured in this case.

SCENE 4:
ASHLEY BLUE & ANGEL LONG
The Girl
Angel has made a name for herself in the past several months as a very tall Brit with a propensity for anal sex.  She's blonde and has a very cute face, although she's not looking as good here as I've seen in the past (most notably in Fast Times at Deep Crack High #6).  She's still very attractive though, although a bit too tall for my personal taste.  Angel has a fantastic smile when she shows it, but unfortunately, we don't see much of that during this scene.  Her anal talents, however, are not in dispute.

The Action

After a fair amount more ass pounding, Ashley holds Angels mouth open as both men cum on her face in turn.  She swallows, and that brings the second installment of the Girlvert series to a close.

The Gist
Although Angel plays the defiant submissive here, it is clear that she is an anal pro, who clearly specializes in ass to mouth.  There's a lot of both in this scene, but for those who care about DPs (a group that I do not, myself, belong) that act is very sporadic here and not worthy of note.  In any case, Angel looks good, Ashley plays the dominant, little girl degrader-meister to a T, and there is plenty of enthusiasm to go around.  Although I would call this the weakest scene of the movie, I wouldn't call it a bad one by any stretch.

PRODUCTION QUALITY:
The biggest complaint I have about Jim Power's work is his production quality.  Here it is typically Power-sian, although I admit slightly better than normal.  This time he doesn't do any of his un-palatable lighting tricks, which is quite a welcome relief, and his camera work, on the whole, is a lot better than I'm used to.  However, my theory is that this happy change was more out of necessity than it was by design.  Powers usually has a high concentration of close up shots and genital-cam work. This drives me crazy because I want to see the girls--a dynamic and fluid view of their faces, their bodies, and yes, their privates as well--but I hate it when it's all about penetration, and nothing about beauty and interaction.  Girlvert #2 was better than usual, though, I believe because Powers had to remember to include Ashley in his shots on every scene.  This helped to add more fluidity, as well as long and medium shots to his close-up work and made for a better movie.  The exception was the Ashley Blue scene itself, which again defaulted back to Powers terrible close-up and static shot selection that made me want to step out of my chair and go behind the TV in hopes of catching a single view of Ashley's face and beautiful breasts while she was being fucked.  I had no such luck though, and what might have possibly been the best scene on the disc was marred by frustrating camera work.  

DVD QUALITY:
The video quality was good, but with some pixelation--especially with the big camera moves.  A better transfer would have been nice, but it certainly could have been worse.  The sound was fine--I heard Ashley dispensing her bitch talk like there's no tomorrow, and that's all that mattered.  The main chapter menu was screwed up, in the sense that the wrong girl's name was shown under the wrong scene.  Similarly, in the cast bios section, the wrong girl's photo was shown for a couple of the bios.  It's sloppy authoring, but from what little I've seen of JM Productions, their DVDs have improved over time.  Hopefully they will continue to do so.

EXTRAS:
There aren't many extras on the disc, but what is there is pretty interesting.  Besides the screwed up cast biographies, and the obligatory photo gallery, there's also a short behind the scenes video segment.  It has some fantasy killing stuff, that I would recommend you distance yourself from until well after you've watched the feature, but it also includes a golden shower from Ashley into Julie Night's mouth.  Very interesting.  Julie is apparently into this stuff and has said so on more than one occasion, which... well that's a good thing because if I didn't know that, I would think I was watching a European Max Hardcore video.  I found this segment strangely intriguing though and kind of liked it despite my knee jerk "MAX!!!" reaction.  What I find even more interesting though is that it's included at all.  Jim Powers and Jeff Steward definitely have some balls for putting this kind of content on an American release.  It's an invitation to an obscenity indictment, but when all is said and done, I'm not complaining... and I guess I kind of even wish that if they were going to stick it on the DVD, why not go ahead and incorporate it into the feature?  Alas... I certainly have mixed feelings, but love it or hate it, it was anything if not interesting.

OVERALL:
This is the best Jim Powers release I've seen in some time.  Ashley Blue single-handedly makes this movie work, and I love the premise.  The scenarios are downright funny, and Ashley establishes a wacked out, psycho-bitch, sex crazed character from hell that I really enjoyed watching.  The sex is very intense, and it's actually better shot than in most Jim Powers movies I've seen, largely I think because of the need to include Ashley in almost every shot.  The best scenes are those with Julie Night and Jasmine Lynn, and despite the male lack of comeliness, they do perform rather well (the guy who fucks Jasmine especially is having a convincingly good time).  Ashley's scene is good, but would have been much better if I could have seen what I wanted to see.  Angel's is the weakest, I think, but only because I'm less interested in Angel these days, and the chemistry of the scene didn't quite match that of the previous ones.  All in all though, I'm happy to own this one, and if you like Ashley Blue, Jim Powers, rough sex, the girl-dom premise--or all of the above, I would definitely check this one out.  Jim Powers has a knack for doing stuff that's out of the ordinary, and the Girlvert is definitely a series that I'll be keeping my eye on--especially if the beautiful Ashley Blue decides to reprise her role.
