The Movie |
Girls of Wrestling is the newest all-girl feature film by co-writer and director Ricky Greenwood. Since Ricky Greenwood first appeared on the adult movie scene with Confessions of a Sinful Nun in 2017, he has been a driving force in adult features. Girls of Wrestling is no exception. In this feature, Ricky Greenwood is offering a drama about female wrestlers.
The general story idea behind Girls of Wrestling is one that everyone has seen before. The story is the backbone to most sports-based dramas, and Girls of Wrestling contains all the standard components of an underdog sports-themed film (along with all of the necessary components of an adult movie). What makes Girls of Wrestling so wonderful is how Ricky Greenwood has put it all together.
Girls of Wrestling introduces us to Layla (Ariel X), a wrestler who is at the top of her game. However, she is about to take a massive fall. After being involved in an accident, Layla is charged with DWI, which causes the Girls of Wrestling organization to put her on indefinite suspension, potentially ending her career. Her long-time friend Nina (Nina Hartley) offers that she spends her community service time training amateur wrestlers at Nina's gym. While Layla works with the girls, her inner demons start to get the best of her.
Girls of Wrestling looks absolutely beautiful. The movie was shot by James Avalon and Matt Holder, both of whom have impressed this reviewer before with their cinematography. Every frame of Girls of Wrestling is fantastically photographed immersing the viewer into the visuals. Quite often, you will forget you are watching a porn movie. The sets and locations that are used in the movie are top-notch as well. All fit the film perfectly and helps the viewer fall into a suspension of disbelief while watching the movie. The only issue with the sets is the series of matches at the end. The set itself is fine; however, there isn't an audience. During each match, the referee (Stef Onzo) and the Girls of Wrestling announcer (Charlotte Stokely) are present, but an actual audience is missing.
The cast in Girls of Wrestling is pronominal! Ariel X is amazing as the lead Layla. She handles the dramatic aspects of her role in the movie beautifully. Sinn Sage is equally enjoyable as Layla's protégé Sophie. Ariel X and Sinn Sage carry the movie perfectly breathing life into their characters. The supporting cast does an excellent job as well. Some of the supporting cast has non-sexual and sexual roles, and others have only non-sexual roles. Regardless of which kind of role, all of the cast members do an excellent job.
The sex scenes themselves are excellent. The sexual cast members bring excellent heat to their scenes. Ricky Greenwood has worked with the assets of a wrestling-themed movie to bring the viewer some unique sex scenes. For instance, he has a nice group scene in the wrestling ring that makes great use of the ring ropes. None of the sex scenes are a letdown.
The wrestling sequences are well choreographed and edited. The wrestling practices and the matches look realistic and add to the overall feel of a sports-themed adult movie. Ricky Greenwood has done a great job of selecting the music for the movie as well, helping to create the proper dramatic mood for the movie.
Ricky Greenwood is on the top of his game with Girls of Wrestling. Like with his past large-scale feature adult films, Ricky Greenwood doesn't disappoint the viewer with Girls of Wrestling. The story is strong enough to captivate the viewer, the cast is top-notch, and the sex scenes are very enjoyable. Girls of Wrestling is highly recommended.

Final Thoughts |
Girls of Wrestling is the sixth adult feature film from Ricky Greenwood since he entered the adult film industry. Ricky Greenwood entered the industry with a powerhouse movie and, in all honesty, his movies have gotten even better since his first one. Girls of Wrestling is Ricky Greenwood's second sports-themed all-girl movies. Girls of Wrestling tells the story of Girls of Wrestling star Layla (Ariel X) and her fall from the top and her mentoring of a new rising wrestling star Sophie (Sage Sinn). Girls of Wrestling is a beautiful movie to watch that never disappoints the viewer. This film is highly recommended.
