The First Word: John Leslie's offbeat and voyeuristic style in Fresh Meat 8 makes for a like-it-or-hate it porn experience, but Jasmine and Nacho's chemistry should be savored by all. What's It About?: John offers up five vignette scenes, each without any dialogue or music to get in the way. First off, dyed redheaded Christine and blonde Suzi, both decked out in PVC outfits and heels, walk into an industrial plant. Frank Gunn and Reinhardt are bottomless, jerking off, and reading magazines. The style of videography is very familiar to John Leslie fans: lots of slow motion, constant camera movement, and no music (you can hear background machine noise). The scene gets off to a slow, leisurely start with unhurried blowjobs. It's not attractive when Christine and Reinhardt start fucking while standing up since you can see her cellulite better when he grabs her ass. I like the hard doggy that follows, especially when Christine fucks his cock, but the lighting is hit or miss--it's either well-lit or completely hidden in shadows. Unfortunately, there's really nothing going on with the blonde during the scene other than a standing doggy anal that also suffers from bad lighting. It's a fairly boring scene with a couple of highlights that ends with a big load that mostly misses Christine's face and cum & reinsert anal RCG finish for Suzi. Next, Stephanie Steel, wearing a hot red dress and licking a vibrator, is joined by masturbating David Perry and Nick Lang for a few seconds before they disappear. It's a fairly average scene that doesn't do anything for me--I don't think I'd want to watch it again. The fourth scene starts out with Caroline Cage, a blonde with nice tits and a hot purple velvet dress, in a men's bathroom. She walks over to the urinal, and although we hear some telltale noises, I think she's just pretending to pee and that it's just an excuse to show off her ass. She walks out of the bathroom into an empty nightclub/bar. She sits down and starts to finger herself while smoking a cigarette. Jasmine is one of my favorite petite, natural babes, and she's the star of the final scene. It begins with Jasmine sucking a big black cock just after receiving a facial. Hygienic it's not, but it is very intense, very hot, and very much the best scene in this video. What I liked: Although I enjoyed Stephanie Steel's scene quite a bit, the winner in Fresh Meat 8 is the scene I just described. It has a lot going for it: the combination of Nacho's gigantic member and Jasmine's spinner body, chemistry that rivals their famous scene in The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women, and a lot of really great looking positions. Holy crap, this is a smokin' hot scene! What I didn't like: Constant camera movement: While I think some camera movement is good (since it adds more realism and spontaneity to the situation, JL's non-stop moving around gets really annoying after watching the video for a while. I'd really prefer more editing instead of the long-running shots with the camera roving back, forth, up, down, close-up, and around. Odd pacing: One of my problems with John Leslie's work is that sometimes the action moves very quickly, while other times it just drags. In either case, the eye candy is usually top notch, it's just that the pacing varies randomly--sometimes in the same scene. For example, there's no question that the final scene is just a non-stop, primal fuckfest, while the first scene is more artsy and relaxed. So I never really know which Leslie will show up in his movies. DVD Extras: It's a pretty cookie cutter Evil Angel release...some basic informational extras, plus a photo gallery and 30 minutes of extra sex (more of the same; it's not just stuff from the cutting room floor). While there's no question that the extra half hour of fucking makes the DVD a great value, for an extras junkie like me, it leaves something to be desired. I wish that Evil Angel's directors would keep DVD in mind when producing their videos. Instead, the DVD distribution through Evil is mostly an afterthought, I think, which is disappointing. A/V Quality: There are several problems with the video quality. First, there's an annoying lens flare from set lights in most scenes. It's okay once and a while, but I think just about every one of the scenes has a distracting light flare that reminds us that there's a harsh light illuminating the performers. I'm also not sure if John Leslie intentionally introduces grain into the video, since there are times where the quality is almost perfect and others where you can see a huge amount of graininess. Finally, there are noticeable jaggies (stair step patterns) along the window blinds in the third scene. The Last Word: I've never really been that dialed into the Fresh Meat series; John Leslie's style is a little too unconventional for my tastes and the sex can be mechanical one moment and explosive the next. I do think that he's improved his formula as the series matures, and this volume, like his earlier ones, still shows that maturation in process. Aside from the final Jasmine/Nacho scene, it's mostly average Eurobabe porn, i.e. not that interesting to me. However, that final scene is easily worth the purchase of the disc--it's hot, hot, hot! Buy Fresh Meat 8 for that scene and then enjoy the other ones as bonus filler.
