Initial Expectations: Alexander DeVoe made some pretty good movies from what I remember, but it's been a while since I've checked one out. I'm looking forward to seeing if they're as good as I remember.

Initial Reaction: It's a bit inconsistent and not quite to my tastes, but there is some good stuff here.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of black sex and big butts

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting warm and fuzzy or short scenes

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects show some pretty good care. The audio is well balanced, but some of the dialogue is a little on the quiet side and there were a few quiet background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks very nice. It's well lit and smooth, and always looks nice and clean.

Music: There's a little music here and there that helps a lot with the moods. It's always quiet and never feels like it's being forced into a scene.

Menus: The main menu works through a little animation before settling in on a still and a few tinted clips from the movie. The chapter menu nicely lets you choose a scene based on a still of the girl(s) and her name (or their names). There's also a fetish menu on the second DVD to let you go directly to specific fetishes such as blowjobs, hams, or cumshots.

The Feature

Freakaholics 3 collects five scenes that are on the dark side. The guys are all black while the girls look to be either black or Latin. The subjects are also frequently dark, with none of the scenes coming out warm and fuzzy.

Lust and Betrayal starts things out with Mimi tied to a chair in a little pink plaid skirt, a black corset, black heels, and a blindfold and her man tied on the floor as Prince Yahshua roughs him up. This is a pretty good scene. The opening is much darker than I expected, and Prince Yahshua plays into it very well. At roughly fifty minutes the scene does get a touch long, but there's still plenty to like about it. This is a hot scene that starts out the movie on a strong note.

Keep it in the Closet has heavily tattooed Cream in a slutty maid's outfit cleaning up and looking none too happy about it. She checks out a few clothes and toys as she cleans, and even masturbates a little. She kicks things up a notch when she finds a pair of dark dildos, and puts one to work on herself. I just couldn't get into this scene. The scene is nicely spaced out with Cream working a nice tease and masturbation opening, and she also has some very nice chemistry with Rico. The problem for me was that I'm not a big fan of ink on women, and Cream has a lot of it and it comes off as very gaudy to me. If you don't care more about black women taking big dicks than you do ink, this one should work much better for you than it did for me.

2 Times the Fun closes out the first DVD with Pleasure Bunny playing with a chain wearing a black bra and ruffled red panties in a bathroom. This is a pretty good scene. The lesbian action to start the scene is incredibly hot, and although I normally like a bit of back and forth action between girls, Pleasure Bunny and Chelsea got into it so much that I didn't care that Bunny was doing all the work while Chelsea received all the benefits. Sadly, the scene didn't continue at that high of a level once they moved in to where Justin was. Yes, both girls did a great job taking on his big dick, but most of the time he seemed content to just lay there and do nothing. There was definitely a sense of enjoyment there, but it wasn't anywhere close to the level that the scene started on, and it started to drag because of it. This isn't a bad scene, but it ends up feeling slightly disappointing because it didn't keep up the momentum it started with.

Sunday Drive starts out the second DVD with good looking black babe Aryana walking to her car in a nice white dress and driving away only to have Marco grab her from behind as she's driving down the road. He gives her directions, and when they stop she tries making a run for it that's not too successful due to having to run in porno heels. There's some great shots of her ass as they fuck, and the scene has a very nice pace where it doesn't feel rushed even though it's one of the shorter scenes in the movie, nor drawn out. This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie.

The role reversal feels fairly natural in the scene, and there's great chemistry between Aliana and Marcus from start to finish. Throw in nicely done camera work and editing and you have a scene that works from start to finish for me.

Freakaholics 3 is a pretty good movie that just didn't fit my tastes that well. I really liked Aliana Love and Aryana Starr's scenes on the second disc, but the scenes on the first DVD often seemed overly drawn out and often just plain didn't fit my tastes. Alexander DeVoe does a nice job behind the camera throughout the movie, and I also have to give him credit for taking some fairly dark openings and building on them to the point that the sex is still hot with plenty of chemistry coming out. At the same time, enough of the scenes dragged to the point where I couldn't help but think that the movie would have been much better if at least a half hour were cut out of the first DVD. Freakaholics 3 is a bit hit or miss for me, but mostly misses due to a difference in tastes.

The Extra Stuff

The behind the scenes featurette lasts twenty five minutes and is nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. Mimi starts out tied to the chair with a smile on her face, and she and Yahshua each have a few words while hanging out and posing. Cream is next, who makes her way around cleaning and shows off a bit before things move on with Chelsea and Bunny cleaning up and playing around after their scene. Aryana shows off a bit and chats before her scene and chats a little more afterwards. Aliana also has a few words after her scene before Chelsea shows off her body and a few outfits and talks about the butt while being played with. Aliana also shows off a bit while laying around on a bed and chats about getting in the business before the featurette comes to an end. This is a pretty good featurette. There's some nice personality from some of the stars and some good eye candy. It feels a little jumpy moving back and forth across some of the stars, but still brings a good feeling to the shoot.

Currently, many of Jules Jordan Video's DVDs can be found online for between about $24 and $37 with very few stores offering them near the low end. Aim a bit low or rent this one unless you're an Alexander DeVoe fan. The movie isn't bad, but it was a bit hit or miss for me and I'm not sure if it's going to justify the big bucks because of it. The technical aspects are pretty good and there's some good effort put into the extras. This is a decent DVD release.

Note to Alexander DeVoe / Jules Jordan Video: I know some of my tastes aren't the aim of this release, but the care you put into your product does show nicely.
