The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and balanced okay, with the music often coming in a little loud to interfere with the action. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks very nice. The picture is clear and there's very nice attention given to the lighting.

Music: The music holds the movie back a little. It often has a very hard feeling that didn't fit the couples focus for most of the movie as well as being overbearing and loud through most of the movie.

Menus: The menu blends a few stills with a little minor animation for a weak first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name(s) of the girl(s) in it.

The Feature

The Fetish Mansion is a place where couples can come and be who they really are and there's no difference between fantasy and reality. Codi and Steven head there for a night due to having some marital problems, and Steven soon learns that his wife might want more than just a night away.

I wanted to like this scene but just couldn't get into it much.

This is an pretty good scene that I just couldn't get into due to Aiden and Steven's changing roles.

The only things that really hold the scene back is that Codi never gets too much of a chance to please Roxanne outside of a little pussy licking and the scene feels like it was cut off with plenty still to go between them. This is far from unheard of with girl on girl porn scenes, but it's still something that often annoys me. This is a pretty hot scene that felt like it had the potential to be even hotter.

The entire movie led up to this scene, and it ended up easily being the best scene in it.

The Fetish Mansion is a pretty good couples release that tries to make things a little kinkier. The voyeuristic aspects are worked in fairly well and the movie does a nice job moving towards a very nice scene between Codi Carmichael and Steven St. Croix. It focuses very solidly on the couples aspect of the movie while making things a little kinkier, and for this reason there was quite a bit of the movie that fell a bit short for me as I would have liked a heavier fetish aspect through most of it. At the same time, with the movie not even lasting an hour and a half there should have been plenty of time to expand some of the scenes a little to strengthen them, such as having Codi give back to Roxanne a little more than she did in her first scene or strengthening the voyeuristic aspect of Steven and Codi watching Billy and Kenzi. The Fetish Mansion splits the baby between keeping a couples focus and being a fetish release, and manages to come out just above the average mark doing so.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about three and three quarter minutes with about six seconds per good looking snapshot. The bonus scene comes from Sinful. This scene started out giving me high hopes and quickly dashed them.

Currently, many Penthouse DVDs can be found online for between about $17 and $25 with several stores offering them for around $20. Aim low or rent this one first. The movie's not bad, but it's soft enough that I think it might be a little hit or miss for people. The technical aspects are nicely done but held back a little due to the music frequently intruding on the action and the extras are okay with a lackluster bonus scene. This is an okay release that just barely comes in above the average mark.

Note to Penthouse: This doesn't seem like it would be an easy title trying to draw the fetish crowd and the couples market as well. With that in mind you didn't do too bad of a job here.
