Initial Expectations: I’m really not sure what to expect here, but after Firm Hand Will Spank, I’m not expecting too much.

Initial Reaction: It’s kinda fun, but the technical aspects really hold it back.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The movie was originally shot in the early nineties, and the video looks like it was copied about three times before it was put onto DVD. It’s dark and so grainy that you can barely tell who’s who unless it’s a close-up. The audio isn’t as bad, but there’s still a hiss in the background almost like wind.

Music: The music is very cheesy and rests very quietly in the background.

Menus: The main menu isn’t too impressive, and there isn’t a chapter menu.

The Feature

Pale Bottom Needs Color (or Spanking 8 if you want to go with the traditional title) collects two unrelated sex scenes. Each scene is completely independent, and the only thing they have in common are that they have no men, the girls are supposed to be in college, and they all like a good spanking.

Scene 1 - Alicia Rio, Meekah, and Kelli Thomas

Alicia Rio starts things out paying a visit to Meekah for a study break. She brings her stuff in while Kelli Thomas takes a nap, and lets Meekah spank her ass on the starcase before going up. Alicia returns Meekah’s spanking favor before they head up to find Kelli hard at work studying. Kelli sucks Alicia’s tits while Meekah gets the bag, and then lets Meekah go through the contents of the bag, bringing out the ruler, hairbrush, and paddle. They play gently before Alicia takes the ruler to Kelli’s ass while Meekah spanks her with her bare hand. The spanking works its way all around, and the ruler, paddle, and brush get put to good use, as well as a few other things. It fades in and out a few times, but always returns to about the point it left, until it fades out at the end.

This is a pretty average scene. The girls mix things up nicely, so that everybody gets a good spanking but not so much that you ever get tired of anybody. It also never lasts so long that you feel anybody is getting picked on. The spanking action is all done with a fun spirit that makes the scene quite enjoyable. The biggest problem with the scene is that it focuses on close-ups a bit more than I care for and that it fades out at the end rather than coming to a decent end.

Scene 2 - Fallon, Kiss, and Tanya Foxx

Fallon, Kiss, and Tanya Foxx handle the second scene. After going for a run the girls collapse in the living room of their apartment, Fallon heads to the shower and Kiss gives Tanya a massage. She spanks Tanya’s ass after Tanya starts grinding against the couch, which I guess shows that one should just lay there when getting a massage rather than enjoying it to its full potential. Tanya gets into it nicely, and then thanks Kiss by sucking and biting her great titties before getting a bit more of a spanking. Meanwhile, Fallon works herself over in the bathroom, first in the shower with her fingers and then with her fingers and a vibe while sitting on the toilet. She comes out of the bathroom looking for her bath brush, only to find Kiss spanking Tanya with it. Kiss and Fallon trade places so Kiss can take a shower. Fallon gives Tanya a bit more of a spanking, and then tells Tanya that she wants a spanking too. Tanya spanks her with a paddle and her hand, and the spanking works back and forth between them before the scene fades out.

This is a slightly more likeable scene. It feels much more focused, but the action remains enjoyable. Fallon and Tanya looks to really be into it, and there’s plenty of smiles, laughing, and playing. Although I wanted to like the masturbation parts of the scene (which might have been there for Fallon to squirt, but with the video quality I just couldn’t tell), they just didn’t feel right here. It might have helped if Kiss would have diddled herself a little too, but as it brought a kind of clunky feel to the scene. That said, Kiss and Tanya were cute enough that I still ended up really liking this scene.

Pale Bottom Needs Color is a different type of spanking movie. It’s fun! I’m used to seeing spanking done with a bit of intensity, but in both of the scenes here it’s done very playfully and it’s obvious that each of the girls really enjoys it. It never seems mean spirited or like it’s pushing things, and even mixes in a bit of masturbation. I enjoyed the second scene a bit more than the first, as it seemed just a little more focused, but both were decent scenes. Pale Bottom Needs Color is a decent spanking feature that mixes spanking and a light heart.

Currently, many of Metro’s fetish DVDs can be found online for between $12 and $25 with a couple stores offering them for under $15. Check this one out at the low end or rent it. The movie’s fun, but there basically isn’t anything for extras and the technical aspects suck.

Note to Metro: I know that this type of title isn’t normally a huge seller, but a little restoration would have gone a long way. It also seems to border on false advertising to release a previously released title under a different name without ever stating so.
