The Farmer's Daughter and Her Punishment Pony is a bizarre short film by Terry Sullivan, using the pseudonym Katrina Lee, that will leave most viewers scratching their heads trying to figure out what Terry Sullivan thought when he made the film. In this reviewer's opinion, Terry Sullivan was never a very good filmmaker, and the movies he made under the Katrina Lee name were the worst of the lot.

First and foremost it should be stated, if you are looking for bestiality, this film doesn't contain any. Despite the title that sounds like the film is a bestiality film, viewers will be happy to know the film only includes homo sapien with homo sapien sex. However, it seems that Terry Sullivan does have an odd fetish for people having sex on a pony. The Farmer's Daughter and Her Punishment Pony isn't the only film that Terry Sullivan made where people have sex on a pony; he also had a similar scene with Candida Royalle and David Pinney in Pony Girls that was released two years earlier than The Farmer's Daughter and Her Punishment Pony.

The Farmer's Daughter and Her Punishment Pony has an odd design. This reviewer isn't sure exactly what theatergoers would have expected to see with a title like this but chances are most were heavily disappointed after viewing the film. The film has a narrator, who makes the film sound as if it is a documentary on live sex shows in San Francisco. Don't be fooled; the film isn't a documentary on live sex shows in San Francisco.

During the first thirteen minutes of the film, while the narrator discusses the state of live sex shows in San Francisco, three rather ugly looking loops are shown. Unlike Terry Sullivan's earlier loop film Thirteen Blue Doors, none of the loops in The Farmer's Daughter and her Punishment Pony have any names. The loops are likely from the early seventies since they tend to utilize mostly gynecological close-ups, a style most adult filmmakers had discarded by the later seventies.

Then the film goes into the “main feature,” if one can call it that. A 3 a.m. live sex show from the Kearny Street Cinema in San Francisco that features a woman (Sally Equine) who rides in on a pony and has sex with her stablehand takes up the rest of the runtime of the film. The live sex show is a genuinely odd show that doesn't have anything erotic in it unless you are into couples having sex on ponies. Live shows are hard to shoot due to the nature of the shows. This one was poorly shot, apparently by someone (Jim Babb using the pseudonym J. Slater according to the credits) who was unfamiliar with how to shoot a live show.

There isn't anything within The Farmer's Daughter and her Punishment Pony that is worth watching. The three opening loops are poorly made, and the stage show is, well, the stage show. Like most of the other offerings from Terry Sullivan that this reviewer has seen, The Farmer's Daughter and her Punishment Pony is an easy pass.

Vinegar Syndrome has done a nice job with their streaming-only edition of The Farmer's Daughter and her Punishment Pony. The Farmer's Daughter and her Punishment Pony was shot on film, and it looks like Vinegar Syndrome has used a film print for this release. The film is presented in the Academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The colors in the movie look good, and the expected amount of artifacts and print damage are present.

The audio for The Farmer's Daughter and her Punishment Pony is a monaural track. There are dirt and crackles present during the presentation. The dialog in the film can be understood at all times.

The Farmer's Daughter and her Punishment Pony is a dreadful film that will disappoint almost all who decide to view it. The film is a combination of three tedious adult film loops and an abysmal live stage show. The only good thing about the film is that it is short. Vinegar Syndrome has done a nice job with their streaming-only edition on Exploitation.TV with good audio and video quality.
