What’s in my DVD player (mainstream): Hoop Dreams (the Criterion Collection)
Easily, this is the best documentary I’ve ever seen and for it to be released on DVD under Criterion makes this the jewel of my DVD library. The documentary follows two high school inner city kids as they pursue their dreams of reaching the NBA and the challenges, whether caused by socio-economic or family factors, that life can pose.

My short review:
Vertigo is a new studio that cropped up and I’ve read some promising reviews of their budding catalog. They pay more focus on deepthroating BJ’s and having their camera lens get close to the action in the form of spit/drool/cum landing on the lens below during the deepthroating BJ’s or from dripping it down their mouth. However, rest assured that the lens is wiped clean immediately so we don’t miss any action.

This flick is heavy on the anal action and includes a double anal for Sandra. Each scene starts with the star going about their typical day or their hobbies before the hardcore action kicks in. For this review, I’ll provide a progression of sex acts and position as well as the highlight of the scene, if any.

Scene 1 – Victoria Sin with an unidentified guy:

Interesting premise for this scene. Victoria promised her ass to her boyfriend if they reached their 1-year anniversary and guess what, he’s ready to collect with a can of lube in hand.

This was a very good scene, especially if you like it a little rough with gagging BJ’s and hard anal action. Victoria and the guy had good energy throughout the scene. The DP with the can of lube in Victoria’s ass was a nice touch and the end of the scene was a riot. To toast their anniversary, she gets a glass of cum that she farted out of her ass while he gets a glass of wine. To recap, she gets a can of lube, no flowers, fucked in the ass, and drinks cum from her own ass on their anniversary. This scene will not be copied in any romance novel anytime soon.

Scene 2 – Haley Paige with Alberto Rey:

Haley has a cute face and some meat around her bones, which isn’t my ideal body type for porn actresses. This was an okay scene that didn’t have any standout segment.

Scene 3 – Sandra Romain with 2 unidentified guys:

Sandra is no stranger to double anal and she shows off her impressive BJ and deepthroat skills as well as her ass in this scene. Sandra looks unbelievable in an orange halter top and white cotton mini-skirt as she starts to fool around with her agent while her husband is on the toilet. All is forgiven by her husband as they get to share her gorgeous ass. Fans of Sandra and of double anal will love this scene as she brings her “A” game and the DAP dominates this scene. The chemistry was okay but does that really matter to Sandra? Good scene.

Scene 4 – Desire Moore with an unidentified guy:

Desire is the good-looking blonde covergirl and she invites a guy she has been watching on her telescope to her house. He takes control of the scene as Desire obeys his every command as he is forcing her mouth deep onto his tool. The sex action otherwise was okay and it was helped by Desire’s pretty looks. Too average of a scene.

Scene 5 – Sunshine with Mark Davis:

Anyway, Sunshine has this new to the porn business look and feel and it’s what drives this scene as Mark is the veteran meat puppet. There is a nice amateur theme and it extends to the sex action as it did not seem orchestrated. An okay scene.

Extras / Production values:
The extras contain a photo gallery, a BTS segment, and trailers for F to the A #1, Outgunned, Flip the Switch, and Double Vision. The lengthy trailers were a nice touch for a new studio to promote their catalog. As for audio and video quality, the technical aspects were done very well, especially the picture quality.

Summary:
The hits were the 1st scene with Victoria and the 3rd with Sandra. The 3 other scenes were okay and average by today’s gonzo standards. If you like a lot of deepthroating/gagging BJ action followed by anal sex, then you might want to give this a view as a rental or as a buy, if you can find it for under $15. For my tastes, the focus on deepthroating and anal did not elevate the action that was too average and will not warrant any replay in my DVD player.

I wish Vertigo Video the best of luck as they join the maybe too cluttered porn industry.
