Initial Expectations: Something about this one really gives me high hopes

Initial Reaction: It’s a good movie, but the technical aspects leave much to be desired.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting a more artistic couples movie

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting an extremely tame couples movie or one with a lot of plot

Audio /Video Quality: Although this is only the second DVD I’ve seen from Outback Productions, they’ve already shown that the technical aspects are the things holding them back the most. The audio varies throughout the feature. Some of it is very clear, while other areas are rough and scratchy, almost as if the microphones were adjusted so that they maxed out repeatedly through the scene. It also varies quite a bit in balance, going from a nice level to dropping so low I couldn’t hear anything and then going back up a little later. At times it would even go louder with music only. This was more than a little annoying, and definitely interfered with the movie for me! The video is similar. It’s nicely lit, but has enough pixelation to be easily noticeable and hold the feature back.

Music: The music varies in style, but rarely feels like typical porn music although it’s normally extremely sexy. It varies in balance between being the only audio and being a little on the loud side, and at times completely disappears.

Menus: The menus are completely uninspiring. The main menu is unanimated and the chapter menu lets you choose a still based on a still from each scene.

The Feature: Nicole London’s daughter Envy is about to get married. Nicole loves her daughter, but Envy isn’t quite right in the head, as it looks like she has a few other people in there who don’t always want what Envy does. Then again, Mom isn’t looking too normal either, so the reality of the situation isn’t always too clear.

The opening sequence isn’t a regular scene, but instead a montage of several. In one, Lezley Zen and Lee Stone get it on. In another, Temptation takes care of herself naturally. In yet another, Temptation and Lee Stone get romantic while Lezley watches. It’s a very artistic opening sequence, and lets you know that this isn’t going to be your average adult film.

The first typical porn scene happens between Aria and Barrett Blade in a theater as Lezley Zen pays attention to the movie. Aria gives Barrett some impressive deep head before laying back for him to return her oral favors. She stays there so Barrett can bone her beaver missionary style before climbing up and riding him in the mandatory reverse cowgirl. Barrett finishes Aria up nailing Aria from behind before finally decorating her face.

This is a pretty good scene, and has nice chemistry and energy. Aria almost always puts in an energetic performance, and this one is no different. Barrett is one of the newer guys on the block, but shows that he has plenty to offer too. This is a good scene to start things out with.

Kelly Steele, an attractive big tittied redhead gets it on with her real life hubby Hamilton Steele in the second scene. Hamilton energetically eats and fingers Kelly’s asshole before moving his focus up a little so Kelly can grind her muff against his mouth. Kelly reciprocates by taking Ham down her throat and between her big fat titties, and is rewarded by a couple light slaps on her face which seems to get her going even more. Kelly rides Hamilton cowgirl style before turning around and letting him work her ass up to four fingers and what looks to be a great anal orgasm. Hamilton fucks and spanks Kelly’s meaty ass from behind as well as missionary style before finally giving Kelly a respectable pop on her stomach.

As usual, Kelly and Hamilton don’t disappoint! Kelly and Hamilton seem to be a fairly unknown quantity, and I really don’t know why. They’ve turned out plenty of scorching anal scenes and there’s no doubt they’re both into it. This scene is no different, and should satisfy many anal fans out there. My only complaint about the scene is some of it looks like it’s shot from behind a curtain and if concentrates on the anal close-up a little much rather than showing Kelly’s reaction as well as the penetration, which holds the scene back from getting as hot as it could be.

Temptation finally gets a full scene with Lee Stone in the third scene. He kisses her naughty parts before she gobbles his knob while he spanks her. They go at it missionary and cowgirl style before Lee finishes her up from behind and sprays down her asshole.

This is a pretty average scene. Temptation gets into it okay and has some nice energy, but something seemed just a little off for me. I think it might have been the camera work, as the only time the camera stopped moving was to go into extreme close-up mode. It might have also been that the scene felt extremely generic, with the pop shot being the only thing that felt a little different from normal.

Venus, Aria, and Kelly Steele get it on in the penultimate scene. The two girls work on Venus, sucking her toes and playing with her pussy before changing things around so Venus can give a little. The girls keep things moving so that they each have a chance to be worked on by the other two. They finish things up kissing with things feeling like it’s come to a decent end.

This is a pretty hot all girl scene, and shows that lesbian scenes don’t always need all the toys. Venus, Kelly, and Aria work around each other extremely well here, and keep nice momentum and energy going throughout the scene. It’s a fairly typical lesbian scene, but also a well done one.

Lezley Zen finishes things up with Lee Stone. Lee gives Lezley’s holes a taste test and letting her suck his schlong. She moves up to ride him cowgirl style so Lee can suck her titties before Lee picks her up and moves her into missionary. They finish things up doggie style with Lezley getting up to take a very nice facial.

I’ve been a fan of Lezley for a long time, so I was happy to see that she was going to have the lead in :Envy. She didn’t disappoint me here, and puts in some nice intensity and chemistry here. Hopefully this is just the start for Lezley, as I think she’s more than earned the right to be the lead in movies.

Envy is an interesting adult film, but not something I think will be for everybody. The sex varies from standard to very good, but normally stays very couples friendly. Hamilton and Kelly Steele easily have the nastiest scene here, and show that anal can definitely have a place in couples films rather than making them so bland that there’s a chance for finding a market in nursing homes. What makes Envy different is the plot. There isn’t much of a plot, but it revolves around Nicole London and her daughter Envy, who’s played either by Lezley Zen or Temptation. You never really know throughout the movie, but it looks like Envy is insane. Of course, there’s just as strong a chance that it’s Nicole that’s bonkers, turning Envy into a good mind-fuck when it isn’t giving the standard fuck. Personally, I like a good mind fuck, and it’s not often that you can find one blended with sex as well as it’s done with here. The sex is fairly standard couples fare, but there’s some nice chemistry and energy through it. The biggest problem with the sex is that it often feels very limited. There’s only four positions used in the entire movie, and I think over half the time was spent in either cowgirl or missionary. This made the sex seem a bit repetitive, and the camera work focusing on close-ups as much as they did didn’t help things too much. All that said, Envy did keep my attention almost the entire time, which I think makes it a very worthwhile movie and a good start for a fledgling studio.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts five and a quarter minutes with roughly six seconds per nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. There’s also a behind the scenes featurette which lasts about fourteen minutes. There’s some nice interviews with Aria, Venus, and Kelly Steele, where they talk about their piercings or lack thereof to start things off before showing the making of the scenes complete with a few more interviews. This would be a nice behind the scenes featurette, but the audio and video don’t even come close to coming together. Heck, the Clintons and ethics come closer together than the audio and video here. Sometimes the audio disappears completely. This should have been an extra that would have given the DVD an extras rating of at least a 3 rather than earning what it did, as well as bringing down the overall score.

Overall: Currently, most of Outback Productions’ DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $25 with stores offering it everywhere in between. If you like a mind fuck and sex that doesn’t get overly nasty, this one will be well worth the low end. Unfortunately, the technical aspects leave much to be desired and are so bad that they almost completely ruin the behind the scenes featurette.

Note to Outback Productions: Please pay a bit more attention to your technical aspects. You do improve a bit as the movie goes on, but I think the amount of grain and the audio quality early on in this scene will lose a lot of people for you.
