The Short Story

Initial Expectations: I’ve been curious about what Dream Girls has to offer for quite a while. I’m going into this one very curious.

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty fun and actually has some nice heat to some of it.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody looking for a “Girls Gone Wild” type of release

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting actual sex or a lot of strip teases

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty impressive. The video often has a bit of a “home video” feel with plenty of background noises and balance problems. Normally this might be a problem, but here it helps with the amateur feel of the release and always comes off feeling well done for the location. The video is very impressive for the location. It’s clear and comes off as very well lit for being shot in a club. There’s a bit of camera motion, but once again, for the location it’s pretty impressive.

Music: The music is your typical club music. It rests pretty well in the background, but rarely moves out of the “home video” feel in its balance.

Disc Complaints: The viewer is subjected to a short commercial that one can’t skip past or scan through before the main menu. I’m not sure of a single person out there who likes this, so I’m deducting a half point from the overall score because of it.

Menus: The main menu is pretty good, and works the choices with a bit of the movie. The chapter menu is pretty good, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a title for the scene.

The Feature

Way down south in New Orleans, radio station 106.7 FM puts on one heck of a party. There’s plenty of babes there, and almost all of them feel the need to get naked for the camera.

The show starts out on stage with a few girls doing shots out of test tubes. They pull the tubes out of each other’s pants to drink them, swap groups of tubes from mouth to mouth, and even pours them into each other’s belly buttons and lick them out. The girls take the tease a little further with some nipple licking before letting a few other girls come up to shake it wearing only a few stickers, some whipped cream, or anything else that can’t quite cover them. The camera moves around and encourages girls to flash them and play with each other before moving back to guys doing shots over a chick’s tits. The action continues to move through the club, and frequently returns to the contests and girls around the club.

Sorority Strip-Off 20 is a pretty darn enjoyable amateur release. Yes, it has the style made famous by Girls Gone Wild, or at least I think it appears to because I never paid attention to that series for anything more than the commercials and even then I phased out of them. The concept is simple here, but it works nicely due to the reality. Just like in any club, there’s a bit of variety to the looks of the girls, and most of them appear to be having plenty of fun. The shots were easily my favorite part of the movie, but there’s some nice dancing as well. Surprisingly, the only thing that seems to be missing is a lot of stripping. The strip-tease that most people seem to think of is nowhere to be found here, and I’d say that it’s exclusion was easily my biggest problem with this release. The main thing to keep in mind when going into this one, however, is that this isn’t really a porno, it’s girls getting crazy and showing off. There’s a few nipple licks, but that’s as heavy as the action ever goes. That said, when that action is done right it can work just as well for me as does the hardcore stuff, and Sorority Strip-Off 20 does it right. Sorority Strip-Off 20 is a nicely enjoyable release.

The Extra Stuff

The only extra is a photo gallery lasting just under three minutes with about give seconds per full screen capture.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Dream Girls DVDs can be found online for between about $16 and $25 with many stores offering them around the $20 level. This seems a bit high for me, especially since there’s no extras. If you want teasing and girls partying and getting naked, this one’s definitely going to be worth your time to at least rent. The technical aspects are nicely done and there’s some very hot action. This is a good feature on a pretty good DVD.

Note to Dream Girls: You have a very nice main feature, but a little effort towards the extras would be great. You should have room on the DVD to include extra footage or a bonus scene from other Dream Girl releases. You might also want to do some kind of credits and maybe something like the date the movie was shot and what town it was in.
