The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As usual with compilations, the technical aspects vary throughout the movie. Thankfully, most of the scenes are recent and fairly consistent. The audio is clear and nicely balanced through most of the feature, and I don’t think I really noticed any background noises. The video is much the same way. There’s a couple grainy scenes, mostly because the original movies were shot on film for those couple scenes, but other than that the video is nicely lit and barely has a hint of grain.

Music: As with the technical aspects in a compilation, the music varies as well. The music is frequently similar from scene to scene, but the balance varies quite a bit. It goes from resting nicely in the background to overpowering the rest of the audio.

Borderline False Advertising: Jordan Lee, Summer Storm, Holly Hollywood, Wendy James, and Juli Ashton are listed on the cover, but don’t ever get double penetrated. Heck, Juli never even gets naked in the movie, although she is a part of one of the scenes, and Wendy and Holly don’t do anything beyond a little masturbation. Although they’re in the movie I really dislike seeing these girls listed on the cover as part of the cast since they don’t get double penetrated. None of the guys are listed in the cast here, so it would seem perfectly acceptable to leave off the girls who didn’t get DPed. I was disappointed to not see a double penetration from a couple of these girls, and I’m deducting a half point from the overall score because of it.

Disc Complaints: You’re subjected to the same commercial for the Free Speech Coalition that I think they’ve used since before I could legally watch porn. It wouldn’t be so bad if you could skip past it, but you can’t. Thankfully you can skip past the commercial for Adam & Eve’s website which comes after it.

Menus: The menus are okay. The main menu has a fairly artistic feel, but didn’t do anything for me one way or another. The chapter menu is pretty basic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

Lately Adam & Eve has focused quite a bit on themed compilations. This time the theme is double penetrations. You get some of the nastiest scenes Adam & Eve has released, and they show that couples movies don’t have to be slow and boring.

Scene 1 - Violet Blue, Chris Cannon, and Tyce Bune

It’s a hot scene, but the artistic nature of the scene does interfere with it a little.

Scene 4 - Jessica, Evan Stone, and Randy Spears

Jessica takes on Evan Stone and Randy Spears in a bed covered with leaves in a scene from The Flesh Game next. The editing also feels very rough and didn’t help much. This is an okay scene that feels like it had far more to offer than what the camera showed.

Scene 9 - Nikita Denise, Ian Daniels, and Chris Cannon

Scene 11 - Nicole Sheridan, VooDoo, and Micheal Stefano

Double Dippin’ is a pretty good compilation. It does several things right, such as keeping a nice focus on double penetrations and letting the viewer know who’s in the scene and where the scene originally comes from. This is always a big thing to me because if I see a scene I really like, I want to see more of the people in it as well as the rest of the original movie. There aren’t many times where I’ve seen a movie with one spectacular scene and had the rest of them suck. Unfortunately, it does have a few problems. Normally the double penetration is treated very well, but in a couple of the scenes it’s softened up so much that it feels like the director of the original movie was afraid of the act. The style of the original movies also interferes with the action a little. Most of the scenes are pretty straightforward, but the heavily artistic stylings of Nick Orleans and Cameron Grant feel odd against the rest of the scenes. Double Dippin’ is a pretty good double penetration compilation, but it does have a few minor problems.

Currently, Adam & Eve’s DVDs can be found online for between $8 and $25, with several stores offering this line of DVDs for around $15. This one leaves me with mixed feelings. I think it’s worth the low end easily, but the sex is a bit inconsistent. The technical aspects vary a little, but overall are above average. Unfortunately there isn’t much for extras, but since the movie is nearly three hours long I think I can let that go here.

Note to Adam & Eve: Please watch your running time claims. I know it’s only a few minutes here, but it’s also the difference from almost being a three hour movie and actually being a three hour movie. Also, if you’re not going to list the entire cast, please only list the people who are involved with the sex act you’re building the compilation around. On a positive note, thanks for the effort you put into each scene to let the viewer know who’s in the scenes and where it comes from. It does make a difference.
