The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Naughty America has put out some very fun scenes and this one has a great cast. Add in that they're starting to put a little effort into their DVDs can I can't help but have a bit of hope here.

Initial Reaction: It's a bit hit or miss, but the technical aspects and extras both need work.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a bit weak, which is happening a bit too often with Naughty America's recent releases. The audio balance and level varies throughout the movie, and I was frequently adjusting my volume to hear things clearly or not be blown away. The video is presented in the full frame format, and also looks a bit weak. The lighting is inconsistent with some noticeable bright areas while there's some noticeable pixelation through most of the movie.

Disc Complaints: The authoring is a bit funky, which doesn't seem to be anything too unusual with Naughty America. Rather than having the entire movie on a title that makes it easy for viewers to skip to where ever they choose in the movie, which is extremely nice if you get tired of a scene and just want to jump ahead randomly or if you're viewing the movie later and want to go to a specific point in the movie, each scene has its own title, similar to how some studios run their TV shows on DVD. Needless to say, this makes the DVD extremely hard to navigate. Thankfully, it sounds like Naughty America is going to be improving their DVDs soon so this will hopefully be a thing of the past.

Menus: The main menu nicely works through a little animation and a few clips from the movie for a very nice first impression. The chapter menu is pretty standard for Naughty America (which means it's a small step up from the typical chapter menu), and lets you choose a scene based on a still and the name(s) of the girl(s) in the scene.

The Feature

The Nanny. You know she's just an older babysitter, and the desires are all there. They're at the age where they still write in diaries, and here five of them tell about what happens to them. Maybe they have to put in that 'extra effort' to keep their job or maybe they make a move on the main man. Heck, maybe the Mr. And Mrs. decide to invite her in to play. You never know what's going to go down in the diary with these nannies.

Scene 1 – Roxy Jezel and Tommy Gunn

Roxy starts out lying on the bed and scribbling in her diary before the scene cuts to Tommy arriving home and finding her going at it with her boyfriend Justice Young. Tommy's none too happy as Justice slides out, and lays into Roxy wondering who's watching the kids before firing her. Roxy clarifies that she's fired before working off her top, pulling off Tommy's wifebeater, and kissing him. That said, there's one big blunder with the scene. Although you get to see Roxy writing in her diary at the start and end of the scene, there's no audio for the diary portions of the scene. This seems like a fairly big “oops”, but at least it's during the setup for the scene rather than during the action. This is a hot scene with Roxy heating things up very well.

Scene 2 – Sunny Lane and Tommy Gunn

Tommy comes in to chat with Sunny as she cleans up after the kids wearing a short skirt, flip flops, and loose shirt, and he overhears her telling one of her friends how hot she thinks he is over the baby monitor when she heads in to fold some clothes. Scene 3 – Crissy Moon and Ben English

Ben seems almost robotic through much of the scene and I never got the feeling of chemistry that often comes out in Naughty America's scenes. I never got into this scene much.

Scene 4 – Kimberly Kane and Steven St. Croix

When Kimberly's boss catches her laying around in a black tank, jean skirt, and bad shoes smoking and drinking in his living room, he's not sure how she came as highly recommended as she did. This scene didn't work well for me, but I think it will work much better for others and especially for Kimberly Kane fans.

Scene 5 – Kayla Synz, Niki Dominick, and Jack Lawrence

Brunette Niki was having a bad day complete with breaking up with her boyfriend before she headed over to babysit for Jack and Kayla with the one rule being no boys. This is a great scene. The setup is fun, and Jack, Kayla, and Niki all play their roles extremely well. I really like how Kayla goes in to break Niki in before Jack joins in due to Niki's recent breakup, and the entire scene has a great feeling of enjoyment and caring. It also moves along at a very nice pace and has a great balance between the ladies. This is probably my favorite scene in the movie.

Diary of a Nanny 2 is another nice release from Naughty America. The nanny theme works well to tie the scenes together while still offering enough room to mix things up a bit. I think The opening scene with Roxy and Tommy and the closing scene with Niki, Kayla, and Jack were probably my favorites, while Kimberly and Crissy's scenes lagged far behind for me. Kimberly's scene didn't work for me mostly because she doesn't do much for me, while Crissy's feel behind due to the chemistry being much weaker than I normally expect from Naughty America. Beyond that, Diary of a Nanny 2 gives you most everything you should expect from Naughty America. The setups are light but enough to give the scenes some substance, the chemistry is normally pretty good, and the sex is always easy to relate to and never gets so hard or nasty that one has to worry about scaring off somebody if you want a little something to get you in the mood. Yes, Diary of a Nanny 2 did stumble a little for me in the middle, but the other three scenes make this one worth checking out.

The Extra Stuff

The only extra is the standard listing of Naughty America online offerings. Hopefully with the other changes Naughty America has been making to their DVDs there will be other extras in the future.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Naughty America’s DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $27 with most stores offering them under $20. Aiming low or renting this one should be worth checking out. The sex is good, but the middle two scenes were a little weak to me. The technical aspects are also a little weak, and as usual with Naughty America there's no real effort put into the extras. This is a pretty good release.

Note to Naughty America: Please pay a little more attention to your technical aspects, as they really seem to have dropped in quality over the last few months. Yes, extr4as are important as well, but if your movie looks and sounds poor you're going to lose a lot more people than if you put out a reasonably priced bare bones DVD.
