The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: For the age of the movie, DMJ 5 looks and sounds fantastic. The audio is clear and well balanced. There are plenty of artistic effects added in, and they’re all balanced nicely and don’t get out of control. The video is much the same way. It’s very well lit and free of almost all grain. This ten year old movie looks and sounds better than a lot of movies currently being released.

Music: The music often has a hard rock feel that works extremely well for the movie, but there’s also a fair amount of classical music. It and the scenes almost feed off each other, and it helps give the movie some of its unique feel.

Menus: The menus leave a lot to be desired. The main menu has a cheesy animated still. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene that’s almost big enough to let you see something.

The Feature

When Miss Jones, this time played by Juli Ashton, finds herself in Hell, the Devil, here played by Rip Hymen, is determined to educate her about sex. She’s put in situation after situation as he lectures on sex and sexuality trying to figure out what makes her tick sexually. The lead-ins to the sex are normally kept short, but they’re also almost always very amusing.

Scene 1 - Tammi Ann

Blonde Tammi starts things out wearing a headband with devil’s horns and energetically fingering her pussy while fucking her ass with a vibe. After a few seconds, she’s brought in front of the Devil and transformed. This scene only lasts a few seconds, and is quickly moved past.

Scene 2 - Juli Ashton, Dave Cummings, Amanda Addams, T. T. Boy, and another guy

Scene 3 - Juli Ashton, Jeanna Fine, Cal Jammer, Mark Davis, Nick East, and another guy

Juli is the center of a Roman orgy complete with togas, and immediately shows why she was passed over for the virgin sacrifice. She keeps a cock in her mouth almost constantly, and has a finger or cock in her ass almost as much. She also gets plenty of strap-on action from Jeanna, who isn’t about to be left behind. This is a great scene. It has a very music video-ish feel with plenty of fast cuts, but also plenty of energy and passion. This is a fairly short scene, but also extremely hot.

Scene 4 - Nicole Lace, Juli Ashton, Dallas, Mark Davis, Marc “Dick O Death” Wallice, Tom Byron, and Vince Voyeur

“Innocent” Nicole and Dallas takes on soldiers Mark, Marc, Tom, and Vince in a wood as Juli watches in a polka dot dress. This is another darn hot scene. The balance seems a little off between Dallas and Nicole, but they also look similar enough and the cuts are short enough that I had some problems keeping track of who was getting fucked when. There’s plenty of energy and chemistry once again, and once again Juli is absolutely amazing.

Scene 5 - Rebecca Lord and Jon Dough; Sindee Coxx and Rich Roberts; Juli Ashton

Jon and Rich start things locked in a cage with Juli in a cage between them. Rebecca, wearing black stockings, and Sindee, wearing white stockings, are brought in for them, and go right to blowing each of them with Rebecca taking on Jon while Sindee takes Rich. Scene 6 - Vanessa Chase, Jon Dough, and Tom Byron; Juli Ashton and Darcy McDaniels

In a scene reminiscent of Pygmalion, Jon and Tom test their project Vanessa while Juli watches and diddles herself with the help of a silver vibe. My main problem with this scene is that it seemed much shorter than many of the others scenes. I really like what I’ve seen of Vanessa Chase, and I was a little disappointed that I didn’t see more of her here.

Scene 7 - Felecia, Juli Ashton, Kelly O’Dell, and Serenity; Michael J. Cox and another guy

Things move to a prison scene with the girls all wearing black fetishwear as Michael J. Cox and another guy (who looks similar to Luc Wylder but I don’t think is) stroke it. Serenity and Felecia start things out together while Kelly lets newly arrived Juli fuck her pussy with a gold vibe. This is a great scene, and another scene that part of me wishes would have lasted much longer. There’s great chemistry between the girls, as well as a nasty spirit. The girls don’t get into any anal or really nasty stuff, but there’s just that kind of feeling to the scene. It’s hard, energetic, and smoking hot!

Scene 8 - Juli Ashton; Barbara Doll, T. T. Boy, and Vince Voyeur; Ariana, Luc Wylder, and Dave Hardman; Rowan Fairmont, Colt Steel, and Ted Hunter

Devil in Miss Jones 5 is one heck of a hot movie. Although it’s ten years old, it still feels incredibly artistic and original. When I look back at what the world of adult film was like in the mid nineties, it’s a no-brainer to see why people were quivering just at the thought of a Dark Brothers’ movie. Although a couple of the scenes seemed a little short here, they were all extremely sexual. They often had a very dirty feel to them, but at the same time they didn’t need to see how dirty they could get in order to have that feel. Juli Ashton does a fantastic job as Miss Jones sexually, and Rip Hymen does just as good of a job as the Devil. Where Juli shows great nasty tendencies in a body that seems innocent as can be, Rip is surrounded with humor while having a darkness hovering just below the surface. Devil in Miss Jones 5 certainly won’t be for everybody due to a lot of group sex, but at the same time I can’t help but recommend that people try it even if they think the sex might be a little different from what they like. It’s so unique that it really deserves a chance, and if you don’t like it you can always say that the devil made you do it.

The photo gallery lasts about three and a half minutes with roughly ten minutes per slide. There’s also a cast listing, contact information, and a few boxcovers. For the classic movie this is, this is a dismal extras package.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of VCAs Classic DVDs can be found online for between about $8 and $25 with a few stores offering them near the low end. At the low end, this one’s a steal. Yes, there’s basically no effort put into the extras, but the movie is fantastic and the technical aspects are great. This movie has the potential to make a fantastic DVD, but sadly the only thing VCA appears to have put any effort into for it was the technical aspects.

Note to VCA: Thank you for finally bringing this one out! I hope you put a little more effort into your classic releases soon! With some decent extras I would have had a hard time not giving this a 5 overall, but with the lax effort you put into the overall DVD there’s no way this one deserves it even with a fantastic movie.
