Defiance Review

DEFIANCE! aka DEFIANCE OF GOOD as it says on the print used on this dvd is a film from 1974 and I went into this film not knowing much about it, excep having read a brief outline of the film and it sounded interesting. The outline to this story is that Cathy (Jean Jennings) a young girl is caught using drugs by her mother and her parents decide that it is best for her to go to a psychiatric hospital for a short period of observation. This hospital is a hell hole and all manner of strange men and women approach her in this place. She is raped by patients (one of whom is played by a very young Jamie Gillis) and the nurses and just when we think she may never get out of this place along comes a doctor who promises to get her out of this place. Fred Lincoln plays this doctor. He does an excellent job as this creepy doctor. He takes her out of this horrible hospital to his private clinic and submits her to his treatment which involves her being tied up and forced to have sex with other patients. This doctor is trying to establish his own religion and tries to control the girls through sex. Maybe this movie was using the Manson theme that was popular still in the early 70's. Ultimately she meets her best friend in this place who has also been sent here by her parents for doing drugs and Cathy (Jean Jennings) agrees to help her escape. There is a very surprising twist ending which I won't spoil for you, because it really is a shocker.

This is perhaps the best film to combine sex and story that I have seen so far. This film is fantastic, if you are into the classics at all then you absolutely have to see this film.

The video for this dvd is pretty good, it's not great or anything, but it's decent for a porn film from 1974. The picture doesn't jump around like some past VCX dvd's and it's fairly sharp. The audio is fine and everything can be heard easily. Unfortunately there are no extras at all. This dvd would have been great with a commentary track.

The girls are all fairly attractive, with the star Jean Jennings in my opinion being the least attractive in the film, but some guys like the innocent blonde look more than me. The guys all looked crazy well they were in an insane asylum so that's natural though. This is a movie where everyone looks their part is what I'm trying to say I guess.

No condoms are used anywhere in the movie, vaginal sex, oral sex, anal fingering, and some rough sex are the main themes of this film.

If you like a movie with a plot pick this one up, you won't be dissapointed.
