Initial Expectations: Wicked is one of the most consistent studios out there, so I always have high hopes for them. For some reason, there’s something about this one that makes me have not quite as high hopes as I normally do.

Initial Reaction: It was a lot hotter than what I expected, but the ending sucked.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of the cast, especially Anna Malle, people who like most of Wicked’s releases, and people who like incomplete movies

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who likes extremely hardcore sex

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is nicely balanced and clear, but appears dubbed in a couple spots. The video is also clear, but the colors seem a bit off at times. The lighting is very good, especially with how many purposely shadowed scenes there are which come off as shadowed and low lit rather than dark and poorly done.

Music: The music is very nicely balanced with the rest of the audio and very sexy. It reminds me a lot of some of Pink Floyd’s mellow stuff and really got me into the scenes right away. There’s also quite a bit of sexy familiar porn music.

Menus: The menus are fairly simple, but have a nice bit of animation and dark feel to match the movie. The chapter menu is listed by number rather than the performers in the scene.

The Feature: Creatures of the Night stars Colt Steele and Anna Malle as, well, creatures of the night or at least people who feel a need to be out when there’s a full moon. They roam the night as two of a lost breed not knowing the other exists but feeling something when they cross each others path. On their travels through the night they find unsuspecting people and use their charm to get them to fuck. It’s a pretty simple and lame premise, but Colt’s charisma and Anna’s animalistic nature help it to work much better than I would have expected.

Colt Steele starts things out surprising Alexandra Silk as he quickly moves toward her in the dark, somehow resisting the urge to shout something about freeing the weed, and then reassuring her that he doesn’t want to hurt her by kissing her passionately and caressing her softly. She’s immediately put so at as that she feels the need to suck his cock, which she does with the same intense tenderness as Colt’s caresses and while giving Colt plenty of doe-eyed looks. She finally stands up and strips down before sitting down on a convenient park bench with her legs spread. Finally, Colt and Anna hook up for a very short tease. They look like they’re going to fuck, but the movie cuts out. It’s a horrible ending and brought the entire movie down a notch for me. If this would have turned out like any of the previous scenes from these two, I would have been tempted to give the sex a 3.5 or maybe even a 4. As it is, it annoyed me so bad that I only gave it a 3.

Creatures of the Night works very well despite having a pretty silly premise. Thankfully there isn’t much focus on the premise, instead devoting more time than normal to the sex scenes. The sex is normally very hot and helped out even further by some great down and dirty performances by the stars. Sadly, it’s reigned in quite a bit by the ending, which starts out with a very sexy premise and then drops it.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts over four minutes with five seconds per photo and some great music in the background that really reminded me of Pink Floyd. The photos mix full screen photos and snapshots all look very good, especially with the feature being originally released before DVD. Audio bios are included for Anna Malle, Alexandra Silk, Felecia, Yvonne, and Colt Steele. Each bio screen was designed for this feature and includes a little bit of personal information as well as a link to the star’s scene. Trailers are included for Crazed, Heartache, Flashpoint Dream Quest , Double Feature! Overall: Currently, Creatures of the Night can be found online for between $25 and $30 with a couple stores offering it at the low end. Although the price seems a little high for what all you get, the transfer is very good and the movie has some great sex. If you’re at all interested in this one, either pick it up at the low end or give it a rent to see if you think it’ll be worth the price tag.

Note to Wicked: Nice job here on the overall DVD. After watching some of the movie I read a few reviews complaining about the technical quality. It’s great to see you cleaned up the movie to make it look and sound better. It’s nice to see that you put the effort into your DVDs to make them worth the price tag.
