Daisy, a slim 5‘4“, barely 100 lbs Mexican/Filipino East LA hellraiser always had an idea of what she wanted to do with her life and what she wanted to be. In 2002, at just 18 years old she entered the adult entertainment industry through her then-agent Wesley Pipes. After a number of impressive outings and her popularity growing rapidly in an era of other waifish and rail-thin barely legal superstars (Aurora Snow, Gauge, Jenna Haze, Taylor Rain, etc.), Christian Mann‘s Video Team signed Daisy to an exclusive one-year contract in May of 2003.
Back after an eight month hiatus in which she attended cosmetology school, Daisy now 21, is as fresh as her namesake and ready to ease back into the world she left behind. Almost immediately Cherry Boxxx Pictures signed her to a non-exclusive six picture deal, Anarchy released the interactive Playing With Daisy and she‘s readying herself for her feature dancing debut. It doesn‘t look like our favorite latina has lost a step.
Crazy For Daisy compiles all of Daisy‘s scenes from the seven movies she shot for Video Team during the year she was under contract to them. It‘s amazing to me that she only shot seven movies for a grand total of nine scenes (porn auteur David Aaron Clark‘s highly stylized Santeria and gonzo wunderkind Van Styles’ three shoots from Mamacitas 2 & 3 and Crema Latina being my favorites and the best). For someone they deemed special enough to sign to an exclusive contract, it can be argued that Video Team didn‘t do the best job of promoting Daisy or maximizing her tremendous sales potential. The scenes on this two-disc compilation are as follows:
Driving Ms. Daisy - This is the supposed star-making vehicle that Daisy headlined, her first feature for Video Team after signing. A decent scene but the Bryant Gumble of Porn, Tyler Knight is so non-descript, bland, boring and vanilla it‘s hard to get into. She may as well have fucked Wayne Brady. And this is supposed to be the climax of the flick? C‘mon Tyler, you know I‘m kidding you, pal! Daisy was hot even if the scene itself never rose above lukewarm.
Driving Ms. Daisy - It‘s never a good idea to put two scenes in a row from the same movie on a compilation. This is the opener featuring Daisy and Kenya double-teaming a guy who probably should‘ve walked away from the business a long time ago, Steve Hatcher. It was 2003. This was the best male talent you could find to work with your premier contract star?
Santeria -
Madness Pictures Exclusive Contract Director, David Aaron Clark: “SANTERIA was as close as I came to “serving my corporate porn master” during my contract with Video Team – indeed, it was “requested” that I quickly churn out a feature starring VT’s only viable contract girl, Daisy, despite my strict devotion to female Asian beauty in my work … Truth be told, that part wasn’t really a burden, as I have always found Latinas quite attractive … the hard part was casting enough token non-Asians in the other roles to satisfy my boss’ desire for a “mixed” feature! Creatively, I went on auto-pilot and revisited many old themes from my work – S/M & fetish, the lifestyles of professional dominas, psychological & supernatural aspects of Sex Magick, etc. -- having to do the shoot in two days made sure there would be no attempt at breaking any personal new ground. I feared dealing with Daisy, since VT tended to spoil ALL their contract girls and she was infamous for not doing the most spirited of scenes. However, she turned out to be the most pleasant of surprises – she was friendly, down-to-earth and ready to work hard. Though she had no idea what “Santeria” was, she took to the dominatrix role effortlessly and I think her scene with Surewood is great – the ugly, magnificent bastard made her squirt for the first time, three times in a row and indeed it was captured well. She got quite the kick out of working with Brian -- she enjoyed how game he was at playing her "dog," and thrilled that he could so quickly turn the tables and give her the very hard yet expert fucking that several of us at VT had suspected she'd been looking for in some time. In the grand scheme of things, I would give her a B-plus for that scene.”
Santeria -
David Aaron Clark: “Her other SANTERIA sex scene, a girl/girl with Kimmy Kahn, was considered something of a throwaway, heat-wise, even before we started shooting it. She and Kimmy got along great – two petite, doll-pretty ethnic divas with sly senses of humor, they bonded immediately. But neither one is particularly into girls, so we concentrated on the artsy, cable-friendly aspects of that scene. Thankfully, Daisy exudes enough Ghetto Star personality that -- at least in my eyes -- the deliberate over-artiness of her SANTERIA scenes never descends into the glossy anonymity of Michael Ninn product.”
Mamacitas 3 -
Hustler Exclusive Contract Director, Van Styles: “A few months later [after shooting MAMACITAS 2] and a contract, Daisy is Video Team’s new contract girl and I was getting ready to shoot MAMACITAS 3 so the logical choice was to put her in it. As far as the scene went it was fun to see Daisy being so playful. This scene (with Talon) was a good one in my opinion but I still thought Daisy needed to be shot in a gonzo...something where no softcore was involved.”
No Man’s Land: Latin Edition 3 - directed by Dee. As DAC previously stated, Daisy doesn’t seem terribly into girls but it’s pure eye candy heaven seeing these two gorgeous latinas in a bubble bath together. I always found Simone absolutely beautiful. Seeing her alongside Daisy, with their similar creamy complexions and body types, is a treat. The only thing missing here was a dick.
Mamacitas 2 -
Van Styles: “This was shot in March of 2003. I was excited to shoot this scene because Daisy was originally supposed to be in the first Mamacitas but she didn’t have her test with her at the shoot so we weren’t able to work that day. But there we were finally getting to work. And I think that’s when we started to vibe off one another and I knew it was going to be a good shoot. When we got past the dialogue/intro for the scene the chemistry was great. Sledge’s dick is about as big as Daisys' arm but that didn’t intimidate her. Rather, I think she saw it as a challenge. Watching Sledge sink his meat into her was something great to see. And after that scene I knew I would be wanting to shoot Daisy more.”
United Colors of Ass 10 - directed by Andre Madness. This is easily the best non-DAC or non-Van Styles shot material on the disc. Not to cite DAC’s words again, but this scene lends credence to something he mentioned earlier in that, Daisy always seemed like she was up for whatever, but her male partners in most cases came up short (like Tyler Knight in Driving Ms. Daisy). Daisy seems genuinely into Chris Cannon or at least into what he’s doing to her but you get the feeling he never gives her the fucking she wants or can take. Her energy and enthusiasm give off the vibe that Cannon could’ve screwed her six ways from Sunday and she would’ve loved every minute of it but unfortunately, I guess he didn’t pick up on that and it never happened. This is another scene where Daisy was fantastic but her partner dragged the scene into mediocrity.
Crema Latina -
Van Styles: “This was the scene I had been waiting for to shoot with her. And everything seemed to fall into that place that day. Her outfit, the still photos and especially the sex. It is obvious that her and Marcus had great chemistry. I can remember I had a big smile while filming this scene. And I even got Daisy to attempt anal. This was definitely one of my most memorable scenes just because of how in-place everything was.”
David Aaron Clark: “Though I remain quite pleased with the result of the Daisy/Surewood pairing [in SANTERIA], I’d have to say the Daisy scene I enjoy the most is Van Styles’ pairing of her with Marcus in CREMA LATINA– though I remain opposed to creampies being part of the porn repetoire, the interplay between the two performers is like static electricity – the charge grows the more they rub up against each other. I also thought it was a breakthrough scene for Van Styles, camera-wise!”
I couldn’t agree more. At least this comp ends on a high-note and whoever sequenced this realized that the lone scene shot in 2004 (the rest are all from 2003) is also Daisy’s best. I wrote in my review:
“This is probably the most I‘ve seen her [Daisy] truly enjoy herself in a scene ever and seeing girls really get off really gets me off...that‘s worth half a ’[star]’ by itself. It‘s a small miracle she managed to make a scene with Marcus in it even remotely strokable.”
Overall:
There it is. Nine scenes of Daisy from Video Team. If you‘re a Daisy completist or just feel the need to own a compilation of scenes featuring only her, this isn‘t a bad rental. This isn‘t her best work by a long shot (she‘s shot MUCH hotter scenes for New Sensations and Red Light District, most notably) but this is a decent start, a nice testament to her work at this point in her career and a time capsule of her time under contract with Video Team. This is a primer of sorts for people perhaps unfamiliar with Daisy and will whet your appetite for some really hardcore Daisy scenes nicely.
