The Movie

Couch Surfing is a prime example of how a short subject adult movie should be made. There isn't a lot of story being told within the short movie, however, what is told is sufficient for the run time. The majority of the story is told through character development. More time is spent on the story than on showing sex scenes and the finished movie seems well-balanced on the amount of time that was spent on each. In addition, Couch Surfing is a funny movie. The movie doesn't go for cheap laughs either; it earns the laughter that it receives.

Skyler (Dane Cross) and Sage (Emma Snow) run a cam show from their house that is failing to get viewers and Skyler and Sage are falling apart from each other. February (Andre Shakti), who is couch surfing stranger that Skyler allows to stay at their house, arrives which adds to the void between the couple. Skyler becomes obsessed with her trunk that is in the living room and opens it one day to find it full of S&M gear.

For people who feel that adult movie performers can't act, this is one of those movies that proves them wrong; the whole cast does a great job within this movie. Cross and Snow are amazing in their roles as the two leads, Skyler and Sage. Much of the story told in Couch Surfing is told through the actions and emotions of Skyler and Sage and the two characters are spot on.

There are what can be considered two sex scenes within the short movie. The first scene is a boy on girl tease scene that is very short. The main scene is the second scene, which is a masturbation scene with Sage. Both scenes are incredibly well done, although the first one is done for laughs instead of eroticism, and the cast stays in character during the scenes.

Technically the movie is well done, for the most part, as well. Couch Surfing is beautifully shot with a multitude of angles and how the movie was going to look in its final form was obviously heavily considered before filming. The development of the movie was thought of just as much in how everything unfolds. Not everything is perfect, there is an issue with oversaturation due to the lighting at some points. But overall, a lot of thought and effort went into Couch Surfing and it shows.

Overall, Couch Surfing is a short subject movie that fans of plot-based adult movies will not want to miss. The story isn't overly complex but as it is presented in the movie, it works beautifully. The sex scenes are very well done and very enjoyable. Couch Surfing is just an all around great short subject adult movie.

Final Thoughts

Couch Surfing is an excellent short movie that should be thoroughly enjoyed by fans of adult feature movies. All fans of the genre are doing themselves a disservice in not viewing the movie. Viewers that hate plot or character development in their adult material will not enjoy this movie. Unfortunately, Adam & Eve has not released either the standard version or the director's cut of Couch Surfing on DVD and the only way to currently view the title is through their streaming service Adam & Eve TV.
