Synopsis:
Every year the Nudes-A-Poppin' Festival is held at the Ponderosa Sun Club in Roselawn, Indiana on the 3rd Sundays of July and August. The Nudes-A-Poppin' Festival is probably the most famous nude beauty pageant ever held. Every year, John Stagliano and the Evil Angel crew head over and chronicle the event and this movie is the result. This volume of Nudes-A-Poppin' was taped in July of 2003.

Audio/Video:
Buttman at Nudes A∙Poppin' 14 is presented with an English 2.0 Mono track. Considering that this is taped at a live event and is not a staged presentation, the audio is in great shape. It isn't up to the standard Evil Angel quality, but given that the film is made up of footage from several different cameras from around the same event, it is as good as could be done. Then again, considering that this series is different from the rest of the productions put out by Evil Angel, viewers shouldn't be expecting perfect audio and if it was perfect it would ruin the live event feeling that the audio here conveys to the viewer. Evil Angel hasn't included any foreign language tracks or any subtitle options for the feature film.

Buttman at Nudes A∙Poppin' 14 is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1, which I am assuming is the original aspect ratio for the feature film as this is a live event a widescreen presentation would seem rather silly and would be damn near impossible to shoot considering the limitations of the camera men at the event. The video isn't perfect but I don't think that is due to the transfer but instead was due to one of the cameras used at the event. Some of the shots are a little fuzzy and appear to be slightly out of focus. Due to the instances of this and the fact it isn't constant throughout the film, just on specific shots, I think that one of the cameras was probably malfunctioning slightly which caused this. It can be a little annoying at times, but giving the wealth of footage in the film, it certainly isn't going to destroy the viewing experience. And since this is a live event, there is no way to go back and shoot the footage again and I prefer the slightly fuzzy footage to missing those segments completely.

Special Features:
For an already extensive film, Evil Angel has put together a great selection of extras to compliment the film. There is the Nudes-A-Poppin' Info which gives the specifics of the event in general for those unfamiliar with the event. There is 18-and-a-half-minutes of extra footage included on the disc from the Nudes-A-Poppin' festival. There is a complete contestant list along with their entry number included on the disc. There is a text list of the contestant winners for the various events going on at the festival. There are five Nudes-A-Poppin' photo galleries included on the disc. Each one you flip through the pictures yourself. There is the dancing gallery with a whopping 92 stills, there is the go-go dancing gallery with 36 stills, the posing gallery with 88 stills, the second posing gallery with 80 still and the awards gallery with 42 stills. There are also extensive text biographies on John Stagliano and Tricia Devereaux included on the disc. There are Evil Angel filmographies on many of the contestants and some of the presenters. And last there is a list of the AVN Awards that the various volumes in the Nudes-A-Poppin' series has won.

Disc Design/Navigation:
The disc is designed with nice animated menus the reflect the lighthearted nature of the film. There are 24 chapters available from the chapter menu. Each one is identified by a video clip, the chapter range that it is going to and what is going on in that chapter range. There are 62 chapter stops within the feature film itself. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film.

General Review:
For those who are unfamiliar with the Nudes-A-Poppin' series from Evil Angel, this isn't their standard style film. There is no sex included in the film at all, instead this is a softcore presentation of a live event held twice a year in Roselawn Indiana. Now, before you lose interest in the title, this isn't to say that this isn't an enjoyable film. The Nudes-A-Poppin'festival is brought to you as only the crew at Evil Angel could do. The camera work by John Stagliano, Big John, and Tricia Devereaux is excellent and gives the viewer a much more explicit look at the women than you would normally find in a softcore film.

The three have done an excellent job of bringing the festival home to people on their televisions. All aspects of the festival have been covered, from the opening to the awards at the end. Ind between the footage from the various competitions, there is footage of the various contestants showing off their bodies for the camera. The footage has been edited together so that the viewer never gets bored with the festivities.

The best aspect of the film is not that all the events are chronicled in the video, but that the mood of the festival has been preserved in this presentation of it. If you can't make it to the Nudes-A-Poppin' festival, this video is the next best thing. There is also some footage included of John and Tricia arriving at the festival in the beginning of the film and if you stay tuned after the credits, you can hear John Stagliano's philosophy on Buttman.

Parting Thoughts:
Evil Angel has done a great job again capturing the Nudes-A-Poppin' festival. Viewers who are looking for hardcore sex will want to pass on this title however, viewers that love the female form and don't need sex in their film will want to give this title a look. There is a problem with the video in some places, but not enough to ruin the film.
