Initial Expectations: In the decades Bob Chinn has been around the adult industry he’s made some great movies. I’m hoping this is one of them.

Initial Reaction: It’s a decent couples movie, but the plot outshines the sex.

Who Should Watch It : Couples who are a little leery about watching porn with nasty things in it, anybody who wants quite a bit of plot with their porn

Who Should Avoid It: Raincoaters and anybody who likes their porn a little on the nasty side

Audio /Video Quality: The audio varies a bit. Much of it is nicely balanced, especially the dialogue, but some of the sex is a bit unbalanced. In certain angles the bed springs make more noise than the people on them, while in the next angle their barely noticeable. The video is much the same way. There’s some slight grain to the picture, but most noticeable is the overlighting in many of the scenes. It bleaches out many of the colors, and gives others a kind of odd tint that’s very noticeable. Bob Chinn is a very talented director who’s been around the adult game about as long as I’ve been on this ball of mud, so this could have been something he did on purpose, but if so, it didn’t work for me.

Music: The music is very soft, and sometimes even barely noticeable. Its style is very reminiscent of some of the late seventies movies, with a soft, kinda funky elevator music kind of style. Although this normally wouldn’t do much for me, with the level it’s balanced at, it helps with the couples friendly feel, while not interfering with the action enough that it hurts the scenes.

Menus: The main menu is nicely done and has some decent animation. The chapter menu is extremely plain, and lets you choose a scene based on a still of the leading lady’s face in each scene.

The Feature: Decades after creating the legendary Johnny Wadd with John Holmes, Bob Chinn has returned with a new dick, Peter Magnum (Lee Stone). This time, Peter Magnum is sent to find a missing step-daughter by a rich widow of an oil baron (Renee La Rue). Where ever he goes he seems to run into sex somehow, whether it’s by him or just the people he’s trying to find having sex. The trail even leads to a porn set, but Peter Magnum’s not the kind of guy to let a little thing like having to watch people have sex stop him. Of course, if things were easy, and people were always straight with him, Magnum wouldn’t have to carry a gun.

Renee La Rue and Lee Stone exchange deposits after he agrees to take her case. Renee starts off shy, stopping Lee from undressing her and making him turn away as she does undress, and then turns back into the ravenous sexual beast so many of us have loved to watch. She lets Lee lick her snatch as she lays back on his desk, and then pushes him back so she can drop down and suck his cock and tit-fuck him a bit. She also tries to deep throat him, but Lee appears to be just a little big for her to manage. Renee drops down to take a nice facial, and takes it with the most enthusiasm I’ve seen in quite a while. It’s a nice pop, and a great reception. I’ve really enjoyed Renee for a long time, and I’m reminded why right here. Renee gets into the entire scene very well, and plays both the shy start and the sexually ravenous woman very well. There’s also some very nice energy here that works to give the feature a great start.

Dale DaBone starts out the next scene with his tongue in Allysin Chaynes’ hootchie, which is quickly followed by a couple fingers. Allysin moves around to suck Dale’s cock, but apparently being one of those girls who seeks out guys wearing big gloves, keeps her ass close to him so he can keep playing. Allysin starts out taking control fucking Dale as she rides him cowgirl style, and then turns around to let him fuck her from behind and missionary style. She finally lets him cum on her tits to finish things up, which Dale does with a nice blast of nut goodies. It’s a fairly hot scene, but I wasn’t too happy with some of the camera angles. It was a hardcore scene, but just barely. It seemed like the camera shots were either close-up hardcore shots, or softcore distance shots.

Lee Stone gets pulled aside by horny homeowner Bridgette Kerkove while trying to track down a suspect at a porn shoot. Bridgette strips Lee down and sucks his cock while giving him some great eyes before laying back so Lee can finger her snatch and suck on her clit. Lee moves on to fuck Bridgette’s pussy from behind before rolling her over for a little missionary action. Rather than go for the almost always required reverse cowgirl, Bridgette has Lee fuck her ass. It’s another pretty good scene, and the camera angles seem a little better balanced. Nina Ferrari and Bobby Vitale get busy for a scene on the porn shoot. Nina starts out giving Bobby a short blowjob before he takes his time running his tongue around her pierced hood. Sadly, the twat tonguing is the most exciting part of the scene. Nina seems really into it here, but once they start fucking, it feels like kind of a sex by numbers scene. Bobby inserted tab B into slit N, worked it around in a few of the common ways, and then popped on Nina’s face. It’s a very average scene that really seemed to lack chemistry. The best thing about the scene was some of the extra happenings and people on the porn set, such as legendary director Henri Pachard and legendary star and now great director Veronica Hart. There’s some great chuckles between them that makes the scene enjoyable, and easily outdoes the sex.

In a twist that could be easily seen by Mr. Magoo, Dale DaBone gets some lovin’ from Renee La Rue. Even though it appears he’s a bad guy, he starts out as a gentleman licking both of Renee’s holes before having her put her very impressive oral skills to work. This time Renee does throat the cock a little, and once again tit-fucks it also before laying back for Dale to slide it in. Renee takes it both missionary and doggie style before Dale decorates her face. It’s a very warm scene with some good chemistry. As usual, Renee does a very good job and puts some nice energy into it. Dale also does a good job, but something just didn’t feel completely right about it.

Ava Vincent does her best job of comforting Allysin Chaynes in the best way two women can in a porno. Allysin returns the favor with a pocket rocket and a blue dildo, and never even gives Ava any pure womanly tongue and finger action. They finish things up with a short kiss and end this average scene. I shouldn’t really say it’s average, since the chemistry is very good and the girls really look to do a good job on each other. It just seemed so short and limited that I barely had a chance to really get into it.

Finally, Shelbee Myne and Cherry Mirage start to reward Lee Stone for a job well done with a double blowjob. They switch off nicely before Shelbee hops on Lee’s cock while she eats Cherry’s pussy. The girls trade back and forth, so Cherry can get fucked while eating also, but Shelbee, who claimed to be a lesbian at the start of the scene, fucks Lee twice. There’s some nice chemistry once again, but once again, I was a little unhappy with some of the camera angles. I think there was only one shot once the fucking started when you could clearly see all three people on the screen at the same time. Instead, the camera seemed to prefer switching between two of the people and the other person, rather than even switching between showing the middle person with the person on each end.

Blonde Fury is a pretty good couples feature. The plot is pretty well done and the cast does a good job acting their way through it. It’s well written and has some nice humor thrown in, especially on the porn shoot. Although the plot sequences are done very well, the sex scenes lack a bit for a variety of reasons. The chemistry is normally well above average, but the editing seems more than a little bland. I often had the feeling that they were really working on a softcore version of the scenes, and the hardcore was almost secondary. If so, I’m sure the softcore version of Blonde Fury is going to be very good, and hopefully very popular among the couples in hotel rooms that watch it. If you’re looking for an adult film that doesn’t feel like it needs to insult your intelligence, Blonde Fury should be well worth your time.

Extras: Trailers are included for Jade Goddess, Naked Angels, Blonde Fury, and Daughters of the Dragon. There’s also a nineteen minute behind the scenes featurette. The behind the scenes featurette does a nice job of balancing the stars working with Bob Chinn making the scenes, screwing around a bit away from the camera, and the photo shoots. It’s a pretty interesting featurette since you see how quite a few things happen in the movie, such as why Ava Vincent and Allysin Chaynes use the toys so heavily in their scene. You also get a little glimpse of an extra position or two and a nice little interview with Veronica Hart.

Overall: Currently, Blonde Fury can be found online for between $20 and $25 with a couple stores offering it at the low price. Although the plot is very well done, the sex is a little weak. The technical aspects are pretty good, but do have a few recurring problems.

Note to New Era: I hope you can improve the lighting in your future features. It was very noticeable here in almost every scene. Also, I hope you continue to include behind the scenes featurettes as you did here, since it really improved the overall DVD.
