Lexington Steele's first installment in the wonderful showcase for women of color, BLACK REIGN (2003, Red Light District-Mercenary Pictures) features 5 African American performers (Vanessa Blue, Courtney Devine, Victoria Styles, Shari and Ayana Angel) plus an Asian performer (Katsumi, the small breasted version before she became Katsuni) all in individual mostly top-notch encounters with Lex himself. Extras are also terrific. Quickie reviews following the main review detail a later edition of the series that might even top this well-done opening entry. No condoms. 2 hours and 15 minutes not including the extras.

Vanessa Blue lands the opening scene. This terrific straight sex encounter starts with teasing on and around a pool table that leads to the duo landing on and around a leather couch leading to a facial followed by more doggy and reverse cowgirl with cum dribbling onto Vanessa's ample breast duriing the after-facial fucking process. "Shit" screaming Shari is up next with her smoking body looking yummy in fishnets. Her screams of "shit" are actually a turn-on here in what appears to be her only hard core scene. "Shit," that's a fine 21 minutes encounter. !!!!

Ayana Angel, the light skinned buxom beauty with the pouty lips, dons a wacky "contraption" that features chains attached to rings covering her areolas that seem to stay in place for most of her terrific 25 minute encounter with Lex that features extensive doggy at the scene's center plus a couple of fine facials. So, BLACK REIGN (2003, Red Light District-Mercenary Pictures) is a super start to this gonzo DVD series. More women, shorter scenes, make this an easy recommendation. Add Lex's intense presence to each encounter and this DVD gets a rare !!!! outta !!!!! from a reviewer who tends to frown on most gonzo releases.

Domina X/Vanessa Blue takes over the directing duties for BLACK REIGN 2, 3 and 4 so those are worth a look. In my hands, I have some later volumes so below are quickie reviews of BLACK REIGN 5, 6 and 8 from Lexington Steele's Mercenary Pictures.

BLACK RAIN 8---2 hours and 35 minutes--!!!

Lex brings in plenty of other dudes to help out with this solid 6 scene disc. Two-couple encounters bookend the action. Look for busty Alexis Silver and Destiny Summers on the front end. A three-way encounter with Latina Marquetta Jewel on and around some gym equipment does give this disc much of an added boost.

BLACK RAIN 5---2 hours 11 minutes---!!! 1/2

Lex's scenes are best here as he takes on the Asian duo of Lucy Lee and Naomi Marcella in the terrific second scene that's a straight sex encounter. Three guys including Lex gang up on the sex-crazed Monique for a wild finale that includes anal, DP and plenty of cum shots to the face.

BLACK REIGN 6---2 hours 24 minutes---!!!! 1/2

A dream gonzo disc for those of us who like women of color: the two bookending scenes are the most hard core as cute Vanessa on the front end and Hypnotiq on the back end get DP honors; two terrific blow job encounters are in the mix as stripper girls Carmen Hayes and Stacy Cash take on Brett Rockman's cock plus Mone Devine sucks a guy's cock in a bathroom bit; at the core of the DVD is a Latina tribute of sorts with Lex pounding the oh-so lovely Victoria Sweet followed by the super sexy MILF Monique Fuentes prancing down a flight of stairs for a marvelous suck and fuck encounter with Mario Rossi; lovely DVD cover girl Mika Brown/Havana Ginger gets the difficult chore of taking a pussy and anal pounding from the mighty Lex in a tricky kitchen environ and scores with maybe the best scene of the 7.

The above rating for BLACK REIGN 6 is the highest rating I've ever given a gonzo production so kudos to Lex for uncorking this one and keeping it all on one terrific DVD.
