Initial Expectations: I’ve had mixed results from The better Sex Video Series DVDs that were released earlier, but they were showing quite a bit of improvement which gives me some hope.

Initial Reaction: It’s a very well done feature on oral sex.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who’s interested in improving their oral sex skills.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who thinks they know it all when it comes to oral sex.

Audio /Video Quality: Both the audio and video are very good. The audio is very clear and well balanced. There’s a little grain to the video, but it’s not too noticeable.

Music: The music is soft and romantic, which should work very well to comfort those who aren’t quite comfortable with watching an video of this nature.

Disc Problems / Complaints: As with the rest of The Better Sex Video Series DVDs, there isn’t a time stamp. This always bugs me as I don’t always have time to watch an entire DVD in one sitting, and I know I’m not alone. A time stamp allows the viewer to skip to any instant whether they’re continuing to watch the feature from an earlier time or just checking out something during repeat viewings.

Menus: The menus are extremely simple, but that’s all that’s needed here.

The Feature: Since oral sex provides many people with some of the strongest orgasms, it’s only fitting that it gets its own feature. Although it’s often thought of just as foreplay, oral sex offers just as many, if not more, positions. Sadly, many couples are nervous or afraid of oral sex so many of the common fears are dealt with as well as a basic anatomy lesson to start things off. Of course, the key to all this is communication, which can never be emphasized strongly enough.

Fellatio (blowjobs) are dealt with first followed by cunnilingus (pussy eating). In both cases, a few techniques are covered, as well as demonstrated. There are tips on how to start out as well as which areas are most sensitive. Some fun with food is also covered, such as chocolate syrup along with a reminder that it’s not good to put anything directly into the vagina. I cannot stress this enough and remind you that there’s still a risk no matter how solidly you think the banana is frozen.

Dealing with the ejaculate (cum) is also dealt with. The main tip is that the couple should decide what will be done with it and should have a signal set up for when you’re going to cum. If you’re undecided on a signal, I’d suggest shouting “You found the marble in the oatmeal, now you get to drink from the firehouse!”. The taste and texture is also covered a little, as well as swallowing. Although there are very few dangers with swallowing, they are also covered.

More advanced techniques are also covered. The configurations for mutual oral sex (the 69 position) are covered first. Oral sex from the rear is also covered along with a little bit about rim jobs. Biting is also covered with the added reminder of communicating if you’re uncomfortable, and as a guy, I can inform you that we will let you know if you bite us too hard down there. Vibrators are also covered to add a little extra stimulation as well as using different locations, such as the woman sitting in a chair with her legs over the chair arms. Of course, different locations, such as at the dinner table at the in-laws during Thanksgiving, aren’t always needed for new positions. Your bed allows you the room for plenty of different positions.

Deep throating is also covered. Certain positions help her throat to straighten out. The woman can also start out with a limp penis to get used to some of the feelings. Since it can be uncomfortable for some women, you should always take things slow and let them set the speed. Some tears are also natural, due to the gag reflex, so you should expect this as well. Most importantly, relax.

If you’re unsure about oral sex, I strongly recommend picking up Better Oral Sex Techniques . It’s very viewer friendly and although clinical, it has enough demonstrations to get things across. It doesn’t get too wild, but it does cover almost all of the commonly talked about techniques, such as deep throating and the 69 positions.

Extras: Although there are a few other extras, such as the sexual health information that’s included on every Sinclair Institute DVD and the No Greater Love featurette that was included with Sexual Positions for Lovers . It’s a good commercial, but I would have liked to have seen something new.

The main extra, however, is a short film called The Couples Guide to Better Orgasms , hosted by Dr. Marty Klein that lasts about a half hour. Although there isn’t anything really earth shattering here, there are some good tips. Everybody’s orgasms is different, so you shouldn’t compare orgasms from one partner to another. Since each person’s orgasm is different, each person’s body also reacts differently to the big O. Although you should be concerned about your partner’s orgasm, it’s something to be careful about since putting pressure on your partner can sometimes make it even harder for your partner to cum. If things are right, some women and men even have multiple orgasms. For men, it takes a lot of practice and a few different things, such as breath control, but it can be done. Methods to heighten the orgasm are also covered, such as breathing, which is very important, as well as toys, blindfolds, and tying your partner up. It’s a nice little bonus that I’m sure many of the people who picked up this DVD will be happy with.

Overall: Currently, Better Oral Sex Techniques can be found online for between $15 and $22 with most stores offering it for around $20. If you’re kind of lost when it comes to oral sex, it’s going to be money well spent. There’s a lot of information about oral sex here, as well has having a bonus feature on improving orgasms. The transfer is also done quite well.

Note to Adam & Eve / Sinclair: This is another nice addition to your line of DVDs. The bonus feature is a great idea and one that often makes the overall DVD very worthwhile. Please add a time stamp to your DVDs. I suspect you want the viewers to check back on the DVD if they have questions, but without the time stamp it’s much harder to search through the DVD. I would have given this a 4 overall, but the lack of the time stamp shows a lack of caring to me so I bumped it down a half point.
