Initial Expectations: So far, Roy Karch’s movies fall on my list of things I like to do several spots below watching Ron Jeremy suck his own cock. I’m not really expecting things to change here.

Initial Reaction: It’s so good I had to repeatedly check and make sure Koy Karch made it.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who doesn’t want any anal, group, or lesbian sex

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting intense sex and anything other than straight vaginal sex

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part, but there are a few sequences where the audio is off balance. There’s also a few spots where the audio gets scratchy, as if it’s been maxed out. The video has some slight grain, and the lighting is on the low side.

Music: The music is pretty typical and fairly cheesy, and rests nicely in the background.

Disc Problems / Complaints: The DVD organization looks very juvenile. There’s only one title throughout the entire DVD, and no time stamp anywhere in the feature. The lack of a time stamp always makes me think the DVD might have been done by chimps. I sometimes like to be able to jump directly to a specific moment in the movie, but without a time stamp, it’s not possible.

Menus: The menus are very nicely done and show a lot of care. The main menu has a little animation and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a clip from the scene and the name of the female talent in the scene.

The Feature: Surprisingly, the behind the scenes going-ons at the studio where a soap opera is very similar to an actual soap opera. There’s backstabbing actresses, people fucking every chance they get, and even some bad acting.

Anna Malle starts things off with Steve Hatcher in the back corner of one of the sets in her first performance in about a year and a half. They strip down a bit before Anna devours Steve orally. Steve returns the favor, including a good tongue fucking for Anna’s ass, with Anna never dropping her enthusiasm a single notch and even squirting a couple times. It’s an extremely hot scene that’s probably the best scene I’ve seen from Roy Karch, who normally puts me to sleep.

I think this is the first time I’ve seen Kelly, and I sure hope it won’t be the last.

Bitchy actress (and extremely cute Oriental) Mia Smiles teams up with construction worker and off screen partner Chris Cannon in the next scene. Backstage Passes is a surprising gem of an adult film. Normally Roy Karch only makes me want to consume an entire box of No-Doze while watching his movies, but here the entire film is fun and filled with hot sex. Rather than trying to make things so slow they’re boring, the stars are allowed to do what they do best, and let the chemistry drive the scenes. This lets the scenes have some intensity, which keeps them interesting and fun to watch. There isn’t a bad scene here, and Anna Malle really stands out among the rest with an amazingly wet scene. There isn’t any anal, lesbian, or group sex, and everybody looks like they’re having a great time to the point they even smile and giggle a little in some of the scenes. This makes Backstage Passes a great feature to consider using to introduce that special someone to adult films. On the down side, a couple of the scene feel a little long, and the positions are extremely limited which might have something to do with this feeling. Backstage Passes is a surprisingly fun and hot porno.

Extras: Adam & Eve has put together a nice selection of extras for this DVD to rival that of their Premium Collection DVDs. Trailers are included for The Puppeteer and Invisible. Bios are included for Anna Malle, Steve Hatcher, Mia Smiles, Chris Cannon, Mia Demore, Billy Glide, Jodie Moore, Joel Lawrence, and Kyle Stone. Each bio includes a little information about the star and a photo. The photo gallery lasts about a minute and a half with about five seconds per nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. Of course, there’s also web links and contact information.

The first bonus scene comes from Sex Across America 6: Hawaii and stars T. J. Hart and Christopher Streams. They warm each other up nicely on the beach by a wall, with T. J. really looking great. He tenderly eats her pussy before she gives him a blowjob that she really seems to enjoy giving. She occasionally looks up at Christopher and smiles slightly as the waves come in around her knees. They work through several of the more common positions, or at least common when you can’t lay down, such as standing up and a few positions where Christopher can fuck T. J. from behind. T. J. finishes things nicely by taking Christopher’s dick droppings on her nicely done implants. It’s a pretty good scene that keeps a nicely romantic feel throughout the entire scene. Everything about the scene seems to bring out the romantic feel, from the camera angles to the music, and it had me smiling through much of it.

The second bonus scene comes from Naked Hollywood 1: Faking It with Keri Windsor and Jason McCain in the shower. Jodie Moore starts things out with a nice background of the movie and an interview. Kelly Warner gives a little interview next, as well as explaining some of what they’re doing, followed by Anna Malle, Mia Smiles, and Mia Domore. After each interview, things cut to the filming of that star’s scene. The interviews are very well done and do a great job of showing the cast as people rather than just fuck machines. The only thing that’s really missing is showing some of the other things happening around the set behind the scenes. It’s still a very good behind the scenes featurette that’s worth checking out.

Overall: Currently, most of Adam & Eve’s features can be found online for between $15 and $25 with most stores offering them for under $20. Surprisingly, this one is well worth the money. There’s a couple minor problems, but the movie’s fun and hot, the transfer is well done, and there’s some nice extras.

Note to Adam & Eve: Please try to be a little more consistent in your features. The lack of a time stamp is really annoying and the technical problems seemed to be more sloppy than anything. Sadly, this held the overall rating back a half point here.
