Initial Expectations: I normally like Rocco’s features, and haven’t heard a bad thing about this one. From everything I’ve heard, I’m expecting this to be one of the best DVDs I’ve seen this year.

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty easily the best DVD I’ve seen from Rocco, as well as the best DVD I’ve seen from Evil Angel.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants a feature with rougher sex

Who Should Avoid It: Raincoaters and anybody who thinks Vivid pushes things a little too far

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very clear and well balanced, without a hint of background noises. The video is often very clear, but there are also a few areas that look as if it where shot on film and treated right. Rocco also uses a few other effects on the video, and it all works to make the feature much more artistic.

Music: Angelo Taocci composed the music for The Ass Collector, and does an amazing job. His music helps give the first five minutes of the feature such a feeling that if you didn’t know you’d probably think this was a mainstream feature. He does just as good a job on the music during the sexual sequences, and raises up the entire movie.

Menus: The menus are very well done, and as usual with Evil Angel’s releases, show a lot of care. There’s a bit of animation and some audio from the feature in the main menu that gives a great first impression. The chapter menu lets you jump to clusters of chapters, and gives a short summary of each group. Finally, there’s the Evil Angel Fetish Menu, which lets you jump to things like blowjobs, anal, feet, or rimming.

The Feature: Chris Knight, the Ass Collector, has been hunted by Rocco Siffredi and the police for quite a while. The ass collector has kidnapped many women, and keeps them alive but drugged at his hideout. Rocco always gets close, but Chris always slips through his fingers only to taunt him with chess moves he leaves behind at the scene. When psychologist Melinda Casta is assigned to the case, Rocco finally catches the Ass Collector, but not before Chris captures Melinda and has her hidden away. The only way Rocco thinks he can find her and stop Chris is to use a mad scientist Andre Gabris’ experimental machine to get into Chris’ head and explore his thoughts and fantasies. Think a little bit of The Silence of the Lambs, a little bit of The Cell (from what I remember hearing), and a lot of Rocco.

At his home, cross dressing ass collector Chris Knight examines his collection. Jazmin, Amber, Juditta, Regina, Agnessa, Monik, Reka, Silvia, Katalin, Laura, B., and Mona Green, are all laid out on tables so he can have his way with them. Chris makes his way from table to table examining the asses and pussies, testing their toes, and even has Jazmin suck his cock. Although part of me wants to be disappointed that I didn’t get to see Mia get a good dose of dicking, Barbarella and Ludmilla did such a good job I can’t feel disappointed at all.

Rocco dreams of being the leather clad and hooded ass collector with Tiffany in the tower for the next scene. He has her suck his cock before going straight to anal with Tiffany riding him reverse cowgirl style. Rocco fingers her pussy as he fucks her ass, and has her lick the juices off his fingers before finally lifting her off and setting her down to receive a monster facial. It’s a very well done scene, with Tiffany looking noticeably uncomfortable in the scene. Normally this wouldn’t do anything for me, but after watching Rocco in some of his behind the scenes features and hearing from a few stars, Rocco shows his partners a lot of care. This makes a lot of difference to me, plus the scene fits very well into the feature.

Melinda Casta, looking fabulous in a rubber dress and studded collar, explores a rave party / fetish sex club with way too many people to name. Most everything you can dream of sexually is here. There’s guys getting facials from other guys, bondage action, transvestites, grannies and grampies getting busy, and more. Melinda Casta works her way through until she finds Franco Roccaforte, and then takes on henchmen Alberto Ray, Carlos, Chris Mountain, and Bob Terminator while Diana Storm takes on Franco. Melinda takes on the guys effortlessly, letting them immediately fuck her from behind while she sucks some of the others. Franco leaves Diana behind to examine Melinda’s ass with his tongue and fingers, and then lets the boys have their way with her ass. She finishes things taking the guys spooge sprays on her mouth and ass, and even looks like she might have taken a little in her ass. It’s a damn hot scene with Melinda showing some amazing abilities.

When Rocco first journeys into Chris’ mind, he sees Chris’ mother, Lola, taking on Steve Holms, Alex, and Choky Ice. Choky is the only one to fuck Lola, and the scene ends quickly. Rocco takes some major liberties with the video here that make it not much of a whacking scene, but it is artistic and works in the overall movie.

Rocco takes on ten girls in the next scene, with most of them teasing him. After a few tease him, another girl warms Rocco up by letting him vigorously finger her pussy and playing with his cock with her feet. Still more show up to tease him with their pussy and ass, and occasionally give him a taste before Rocco fucks Petra Short. It’s really too bad, since Rocco at the center of a massive all girl orgy really would be a thing of beauty. It’s the weakest scene in the feature, but still a very good scene.

Chris Knight and Manuel Ferrara, who Chris refers to as his “Bishop” take on Dana, a blonde in black lingerie, Susa, an extremely hot brunette with some red fetishwear, and Laura, a bit tittied blonde who’s also in a little fetishwear, in a slaughterhouse next as Rocco is forced to watch. The guys trade back and forth with the ladies as they warm each other up, and Laura puts her tits to some good use on Manuel’s cock. When the fucking begins, Chris goes between Dana’s holes and Susa’s mouth, while Manuel ignores Laura’s bald pussy to concentrate on her ass. The guys trade places, and soon after, Manuel sprays a load by and into Susa’s face and Chris decorates Laura’s big fat titties while the others lick it up. It’s another weird scene, but works quite well. I’m a little disappointed that Susa doesn’t get in on the action much, but the others do a great enough job that I can’t complain.

Back at his hideout, Chris Knight has his way with Melinda Casta as a drugged Rocco watches. Chris has Melinda suck his cock a little before climbing on and fucking her missionary style. There’s been a lot of positive talk about The Ass Collector, and after watching it, it’s all very well deserved. The movie is well written and creative, while still being extremely sexual, right up to the bloopers and behind the scenes clips as the credits run. The cast does an amazing job of bringing it to life, and put great energy, heat, and chemistry into almost every scene. Melinda Casta and Rocco both do a great job of leading the movie sexually, while Chris plays a psycho so well that Anthony Hopkins might want to make a note or two. There’s a couple scenes that didn’t hit me completely right, but nothing that wouldn’t make me want not watch the movie again. The Ass Collector is easily one of the best adult films to come out in 2002.

Extras: The extras are split over two DVDs, with the second DVD devoted entirely to extras. The photo gallery contains about sixty extremely good looking snapshots. There’s also two trailers for the feature, a cast list by scene, website information, and a list of what you can find on the second DVD all on the first DVD.

The second DVD contains most of the extras, as well as a list of what you can find on the first DVD. Starting things off for this DVD, there’s filmographies for almost all of the female cast that you might have seen here for more than a few seconds. Each filmography includes a photo of the star, a list of their movies for Evil Angel, and even lists a few of the other names they’ve went under. The behind the scenes photo gallery contains about three dozen extremely good looking snapshots. There’s also plenty of information about Rocco, such as a biography, a catalogue of all the movies he’s done for Evil Angel, a filmography that lists all the movies from John Stagliano and John Leslie that he was in, and a list of the awards he’s been nominated for and won. Of course, there’s also website information, but the main extras here are the extra sex footage and the behind the scenes featurette.

The extra sex footage lasts almost exactly a half hour. You can choose between watching all of it, and watching just what’s there from a specific scene. There’s footage here from Tiffany’s scene with Rocco, Veronica B and Stella Virgin, Chris and Manuel’s scene with Susa, Dana, and Laura, the “red platform” reverse gangbang, and the final scene between Rocco, Melinda, Monik, and Viki. There isn’t any music in the bonus scenes, but they all look as good as the movie.

There’s about three minutes which was cut from Rocco and Tiffany’s scene. You get to see a bit of foreplay and vaginal sex, as well as a little anal. Tiffany doesn’t look quite as scared through much of this, which helps out my feeling for the original scene. It’s a nice sequence, but I can see how it was cut.

There’s about five more minutes of Veronica B. and Stella Virgin’s tease of Rocco. The girls interact a little with each other, as well as letting Rocco eat a little pussy from each of them. It’s a nice tease that fans of the original scene should really enjoy.

The slaughterhouse sequence has about seven and a half more minutes. It starts with a decent sized oral sequence before Manuel fucks Susa, which I was really glad to see. There’s also a little more oral action and fucking for Dana. It’s a nice addition to the scene.

Approximately nine more minutes are included from the final scene between Rocco, Melinda, Monik, and Viki. You get to see Melinda work over a slightly uncomfortable Viki’s ass and a bit of gapage from Monik. You also get to see a little more anal bead action that Melinda gives Monik while Rocco fucks each of Viki’s holes, as well as the two blondes adding a little oral action for Rocco’s ass and Viki’s feet. This is easily the best of the cut footage, and a must for all fans of the original scene. Viki looks like she isn’t used to much anal action, or at least isn’t used to having somebody of Rocco’s size in her ass, which I’m guessing is why it was cut.

Finishing out the extra sex, there’s about four and a half minutes from the red platform reverse gangbang scene. You get to see a little more oral, a little more fucking, and a lot more of the girls around Rocco and his partner at the time. This was the best cut of the extra footage, as I thought the original scene was a little long and the weakest in the feature.

Finally, there’s the behind the scenes featurette, which lasts seventy eight minutes and even comes complete with its own chapter menu. The featurette is broken down by areas of the movie, such as The Tower, Rave Party, or Police Station. It concentrates quite a bit on Rocco and Gabriel Zero working with the cast and crew without bothering with any of the other things going on around the set. There are a few fun moments, but they’re very few and very far between. This gives the entire featurette a very documentary-like feel. Quite a bit of the dialogue is in Italian, which one would expect on a foreign movie, which also makes it a bit hard to watch at times. There are very few interviews or anything else that would give you a feel for the performers as people outside of Rocco and Chris Knight having a few moments with the camera. It also makes the featurette seem much longer than it is, and very easy to walk away from unless you’re really into movie making. The behind the scenes featurette is well done for its style, but won’t appeal to everybody that watches it.

If the two DVDs isn’t enough, there’s a bonus CD that includes the musical score for the feature. This is a great extra since the music is so well done here. It’s really great to see a company recognize just how important music can be in a movie.

The movie’s excellent, both sexually and in the non-sex moments, and has a great transfer. There’s even a lot of great extras. The Ass Collector is worth collecting!
