Synopsis:
Four angels (Miko Lee, Allysin Chaynes, Lezley Zen, and Summer Storm) go to a rehabilitation center disguised as nurses and bring some life back to some terminal patients.

Audio/Video:
Angels of Mercy is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo track which works well for the film. There are no sound effects, long dialog sequences or anything of the sort, so no fancy audio track is necessary for the film. The dialog that is present in the film is clear and easy to hear at all times. Adam & Eve hasn't included any foreign language tracks or any subtitle options for the film.

Angels of Mercy is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1, which appears to be the original aspect ratio for the film. The picture quality on the film is great sporting a crisp and clear print that contains no artifacts, blemishes or glitches anywhere in the presentation. The color levels are perfectly set. As far as this transfer goes, I can't find any flaws.

Special Features:
For a below average film, Adam & Eve has gone out of their way and compiled a great collection of extras. All the extras for the film are on the 'B' side of the disc. There is an hour and fifteen minute Behind the Scenes feature which goes into great detail on the making of the film and features behind the scenes footage and interviews. Unfortunately, this piece is better than the movie is. There is a photo gallery that contains 20 stills from the film. You are given a portion of the still and if you click on it you get the whole picture. I wasn't very impressed with how the photo gallery works and I hope Adam & Eve doesn't make to many more of them this way. There are two bonus scenes included on the disc, one from Naked Hollywood 7 with Keri Windsor and Pat Myne presented in the full screen aspect ratio and one from Unforgettable with Jewel De'Nyle and Julian presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect of 1.85:1. There are also trailers on the disc for Taste of a Woman, Flesh Game, Photogenic, and Pin-up Girls.

Navigation:
There are ten chapters available from the main menu for Angels of Mercy. Four of them are hotshot links and the other six are identified by a video clip from the scene that the chapter goes to. The chapters are decent for navigation, but more would be preferable. There is a time code for the feature film encoded on the disc.

General Review:
Considering some of the excellent names that are involved with this film, it's a shame that it turned out so poorly. The biggest problem with the film is that it transcends down to what most people consider stereotypical porn on many different levels. The end result is this film is easily forgettable and most viewers won't want to see it repeatedly. To begin with, the plot is horrible, even for an adult film. The sole purpose of the plot here is to provide something other than sex scenes in the film. The plot itself never serves any real purpose nor is it ever really developed, so the end result is even viewers that like a plot will find this nothing more than fast forward fodder.

The film sports some excellent looking females but some of the men are well below average. Especially Steve Hatcher and Gino Greco, neither of which I find to be among the better looking and Gino looks like he is starting to get too old for this line of work. I don't mind when it serves the plot and character to have an older actor in a role, but since the plot here is disposable that isn't the case. The acting, what little there is in the film is pretty bad, but then again, I can't blame the cast for this given the material they have to work with. If I had been presented with this material I don't think that I would have tried very hard either.

As far as the sex scenes go, they are rather straight forward. There is nothing overly nasty in any of the acts, which makes this film more accessible to beginning porn couples and viewers that don't like nastier sex, but the scenes themselves seem to lack enthusiasm. When watching this film, I got the impression that everyone was just going through the motions and weren't really into the scenes. Also, an overwhelming percentage of the shots in the sex scenes are very close up without a good mix of medium and long range shots thrown in. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal and anal sex with lesbianism, pussy eating (male to female and female to female), blow jobs, pussy fingering and anilingus (female to female). For viewers that care about condom use, condoms are used in some scenes but not in others.

The Scenes:
The first scene brings us Steve Hatcher with Summer Storm for a scene that starts out with a blow job. Then the scene goes into some pussy eating before the vaginal sex. The scene concludes with some anal sex. The second scene gives us Gino Greco with Miko Lee and Lezley Zen and starts out with a blow job and pussy eating combo before going into the vaginal sex. The scene concludes with a vaginal sex and pussy eating (female to female) combo. The third scene features Allysin Chaynes and Stormy for a lesbian scene that includes pussy eating and pussy fingering.

The fourth scene brings us Trevor Zen with Summer Haze for a scene that starts out with some pussy eating. The scene then goes into the blow job before concluding with some vaginal sex. The fifth scene gives us Jon West with Miko Lee and consists of a blow job only. The sixth and final scene in the film features Lezley Zen, Summer Haze and Summer Storm and is another lesbian scene which includes pussy eating and anilingus.

Parting Thoughts:
Adam & Eve has done a great job of putting an excellent disc together and fans of the film will be very pleased and will definitely want to pick this disc up. Unfortunately the film on the disc isn't that great so most viewers will want to pass on the disc. Fans of porn with a decent plot or nastier sex will definitely want to pass on this title whereas fans of one of the stars might want to pick it up if they can find it cheaply.
