Angel X (Wicked) Review

I had never really seen a Michael Raven movie, so I decided to start safe, and went with Angel X. Over all, I'm happy I did.

The Movie: Okay, first off, this movie is set up as the first in a series. I really wish they would continue it, but as of now, this is the only one.

The sex is the most important part here, and over all it, does very well, with no real flaws that I could see.

The movie starts off with a sex scene between Asia Carrera and a Warrior. The scene starts slow, romantic, and has a nice build. There is both female and male oral (a plus) and when they actually get to the sex, there is a great heat, and you can tell that both performers are enjoying themselves. There is no anal in this scene, which is fine by me, and helps because this is a softer scene.

The next scene is a flashback of how Angel X was born, and is between Nick Manning (the villian) and her mother, the Queen of Light. The scene has heat, mainly because of the actress, and while they set her up as more of the soft character, it seems to work. Again, there is no anal, but there is a nice pop at the end, and the extreme heat of the scene carries this one very well.

After this there is a scene between Asia Carrera and the star (and at this point soon to be contract girl) Kaylani Lei. There scene is good, with a nice build, although you can tell that Kaylani is just starting out at this point, and her sexual performance is a tad bit fake. Still, it is a nice girl/girl scene that doesn't last to long, but just long enough.

After this is the weakest scene in the film, an orgy. Nick Manning is the main focus, and is in full villian make up (a rather odd looking mask). The scene is alright, although it is very short, and doesn't really amount to much. It starts with some of Nick's slave girls servicing him, and then some guards get in on the action. Not long after they start pumping the girls do they pop, and then all three slave girls go down on Nick, and he pops on their faces. It's one of the quickest orgies I have ever seen, and really has no effect on the movie. It also might turn some people off that all the girls are made to look rather grungy, and have weird buttons glued on to their faces to look like piercings. The weakest scene.

Then there is a bit of story, and we get to the final scene, a kind of out of body fuck scene with Kaylani, and her dream guy. The scene is good, and Kaylani looks beautiful as always (she is one of the few performers who can look glamorous in a fuck scene). The scene has the usual oral (both male and female) as well as some good standing positions. It ends with the dream guy popping on Kaylani's face. A nice final scene.

The movie, story wise, isn't to mind blowing, but works very well. Kaylani plays Angel, a girl whose boyfriend is murdered. She is almost killed but Asia Carrera (Fujiko) shows up, and saves her. Kaylani passes out, and wakes up to find out that she is destined to be Angel, a warrior against Gobudigon (Nick Manning). This is just the begining to what Michael Raven has planned for the character of Angel, and so it does end on a cliff hanger, but it's still worth it to see.

The story and the sex blend and Michael Raven really knows his way behind a camera. This entire film looks amazing! There are some truelly cool sequances with Kaylani and Asia training. Also, there are no hand held shots, and the movie feels very proffesional, although it also feels a bit soft core because of it. Still, this is a couples movie, and I see nothing in here that would turn a woman away. This is a great title to ease a girlfriend in to porn, mainly because the girls are the strong ones in the film, and they usually have the upper hand in the sexual experiences. It also helps that movie just looks great.

Tech Stuff: The sound is very good, and the picture is nice, although at times the colors look a bit off, but still, the picture is strong and clear. Another great DVD transfer from Wicked.

Extras: You get interviews, behind the scenes, the box cover shoot, and much more. This DVD is packed, with all the extras on a second disc. You also get the usual trailers and the like. A very good DVD.

OverAll: A very safe, fun title for couples with a decent plot, and some very well filmed, hot (but mild) sex. I say go for it on this one.
