Anal Romance 2 (Platinum X) Review

‘Anal’ and ‘Romance’ may seem contradictory terms to many people, and while I think that Steve has his tongue firmly in his cheek (pardon the pun) with his choice of title, I would still make a case for saying that good, hard anal sex, while not inherently romantic, can be passionate and enjoyable for both parties.

Having got the philosophical stuff out of the way, lets concentrate on what this title has to offer. The title boasts a good solid cast, with cover girl Haley, who never disappoints, English tart, Isabel Ice and ‘veteran’ performer Tiffany Mynx. So lets dim the lights, put on the Barry Manilow CD, sit back, and see what this title has to offer.

In the opener, we meet Michelle Banks jilling off to the strains of Amazing Grace, which is probably a first for Michelle and for a porno.

All in all this has to be one of the best extras packages I’ve seen. The Behind the Scenes footage features fun interviews with the girls as well as a look at the actual shooting of the movie.

The bonus footage is where this disc really scores however. Instead of the usual extra footage of the scenes you’ve just watched, we are treated here to some extra footage of the insatiable Tiffany Mynx taking on Steve after her scene with Manuel and a nice blow job scene with up and coming stars Taryn Thomas and Alektra.

CONCLUSION

Anal Romance hit the mark for me. I watch gonzo, and in particular anal gonzo, because I like to watch realistic, hot sex without the irrelevant plot. Over recent years however, the gonzo product has become increasingly similar with few titles standing out from the crowd.

In some ways this title is more of the same in that the sex takes place on the ubiquitous couch and there is little tease, but these weaknesses aside this film works by providing the viewer with a product that ticks all the boxes for a modern anal gonzo such as ATM, gaping etc, yet mixes in some passion and intensity between the talent.

Both Steve Holmes, but particularly Manuel Ferrara, always deliver a passionate scene and I love watching their work. The cast was good rather than top quality but all the girls put in top scenes and I’ve seen another new British slut in Isabel Ice.
