The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is well balanced and pretty clear, but there are a few spots where it seems a little hollow due to the location. The video is also very well done. There’s a hint of grain, but I think this might be on purpose since Axel has a slightly artistic look to the movie. He uses a fair amount of natural light and even mixes in a little black and white and color-altered footage.

Music: None

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu gives a decent first impression, but just works together a little animation and a still. The chapter menu is also fairly unimpressive and just lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each chapter.

The Feature

Axel Braun keeps things simple with Anal Retentive. Each scene starts with a quick tease before getting right to the action. The sex has a definite focus on anal action, and there’s barely any vaginal sex in the entire movie.

Scene 1 - Ashley Long and Mr. Pete

Ashley starts things out giving a nice tease in a black outfit which quickly comes off. Axel does, and with Ashley and Mr. Pete makes this a great scene to start things out with as well as one of the best in the movie.

Scene 2 - Ashley Blue, Katja Kassin, and Mark Ashley

The scenes normally feel like there’s only a single camera on them, but Axel seems to know just what he wants from behind that camera. Ashley Long and Jamie Brooks easily have the best scenes in the movie, and I can’t help but think that a lot of that has to do with Mr. Pete. I’ve often come down on Mr. Pete, but he seems to have the ability to bring out the nasty side of his partners while making it look passionate, and that definitely paid off here. Anal Retentive is a nicely done anal feature that does a great job of blending dirty sex and well done camera work.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for six of Digital Sin’s series, as well as one of their features. The photo gallery includes roughly thirty very nice looking full screen photos. There’s also a behind the scenes featurette, a bonus scene, internet information, and company information.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts eleven minutes. Things start out with an interview with a girl who I’m not sure of and who isn’t in the movie. She talks a bit about sex and dating before things move on to Taylor Rain. Jamie Brooks shows up next, and gives a little show and talks about her tits. There’s a little talk with Ashley Blue and Katja Kassin as they take a break with Mark and have a lot of fun. Shy Love and Ariana Jollee, neither of whom appear in this movie, also show up for a little fun. It’s an enjoyable behind the scenes featurette, but it doesn’t strike me as the most organize due to focusing on several girls who don’t even appear in this movie.

The action is hot, the technical aspects are pretty well done, and there’s even some nice effort put into the extras. This is a very nicely done DVD.
