The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and sounds great. There were about five seconds throughout the movie where I wondered if the audio was dubbed, but even then I wasn’t sure. The video is also nicely done. The lighting varies slightly throughout the movie, and it has a slightly soft feel that works very well. The slightly soft look gives the movie a bit more of an artistic feel, and is never so bad that I thought it interfered with the action.

Music: There’s a little hard rock music which rests quietly in the background during the opening of each scene. It’s nice to have such different music, but it also doesn’t fit quite right for me and often interfered with the scene for me.

Menus: The main menu nicely works a bit of the movie in with the boxcover. The chapter menu is pretty standard and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip from each scene and a scene number.

The Feature

Pat Myne gets a bit patriotic behind the camera for this feature. He keeps a red, white, and blue theme going through each scene, as well as a nice anal focus. The girls are decked out in red, white, and blue, and Pat even found red, white, and blue toys for them to work with. You don’t have to worry about any kind of plot or story to start the scenes out, but the girls do take a bit of time to talk to Pat and show off for the camera at the start of each scene.

Scene 1 - Jessica Darlin and Mark Davis

There were a couple times when I was almost a little uncomfortable seeing what she was doing, but then she’d get a little dirty smile on her face and in her eyes which showed just how into it she was. This is a great scene to end American Ass with, and reminds me why I’m so glad that Brooke is back in front of the camera again!

American Ass is another winner from Pat Myne! The girls do a great job here, and the only scene I couldn’t get into much was the opener with Jessica, and I’ll admit that Jessica doesn’t do much for me and if she did I’d probably like the movie even more. Once again, Pat shows some very nice talent behind the camera, and keeps things looking “pretty” while not sacrificing any of the heat in the scenes for it. He keeps things simple and straightforward with one of the standard gonzo formulas, but he does it well enough that I didn’t care if the movie seemed very familiar. The lack of anything really original is the closest I can come to a complaint about American Ass, and even that is a very minor complaint that I hope doesn’t stop anybody interested in it from checking it out as this is a very well done porno.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for DirRty, Fetish Whores, Ho SmASShin’, and Blowjob Fantasies 18. Instant pop shot access lets you view the cumshots for each scene either all at once, taking about five and a half minutes, or choose which one you want to see. The photo gallery lasts almost a minute and a half, and gives you about four seconds per good looking photo. There’s also phone sex ads, website information, and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts over twelve and a half minutes. In Selena Silver’s review of American Ass she states “Without a doubt, he is the MOST fun director to work for in porn today. I couldn’t help but think of that statement throughout the entire behind the scenes featurette. It’s a nice behind the scenes featurette, but it concentrates on Pat’s Wild Cherries 2 2 as much if not more than it does on American Ass. I would have much rather had most of this featurette on the Wild Cherries 2 2 DVD, but it’s fun enough that I can’t help but enjoy it anyway.

Currently, many FusXion titles can be found online for between $18 and $29 with quite a few stores offering them near the low end. FusXion continues to give you your money’s worth here! There’s decent extras, a good transfer, and plenty of hot sex. This one’s worth checking out!

Note to Metro / FusXion: This is a nice DVD, but a couple minor additions would really help it out. First, add a cast listing by scene. Not everybody knows who’s who here, and I have yet to hear of somebody who doesn’t like to find this on a DVD. You could even combine it with a Metro or FusXion filmography to let people easily find other movies from you that have performers they like. Second, add a bonus scene or two. Let people see another scene from your contract directors or performers! FusXion is still a new line, so a bonus scene from one of your other titles might help them to decide on which title they’ll pick up next and show them that the title they picked up wasn’t just a fluke.
