The Short Story

Initial Expectations: With Kimi Lixx, Alexandra Silk, and Zana all in the movie I’m not expecting to be able to roll over in bed without hurting myself for quite a few nights.

Initial Reaction: As usual, Luc has put together a very good adult feature with a very friendly feel.

Who Should Watch It : Raincaoters and fans of fresh talent

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants a plot or well ridden porn stars

Audio /Video Quality: The audio and video are both very good for gonzo. The audio is very clear and well balanced, but does have a little bit of background noise in a few spots. It’s also dubbed in a brew places which is very noticeable. The video is extremely good for gonzo, and doesn’t have the shakiness that plagues so many gonzo features. It does have a few of the soft focus problems, but that’s about the only problem.

Disc Problems / Complaints: There’s no time stamp! This is one of my biggest pet peeves on DVDs. Many of us don’t watch an entire feature in one sitting and sometimes like to pick it up where we left off. If we know what that time is we can go there. Without the time stamp you have to get to the closest chapter and scan for it. It’s a pain in the ass and something that frequently turns me off about companies if they leave it off frequently. Also, the Pop Shot icon stays on through the entire feature, which is very annoying.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple, but have some fun animation and music that made me start to like the DVD almost immediately. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene.

The Feature

Amateur Angels 1 starts a new series for Luc Wylder. The title is a little deceptive since there’s quite a bit of recognizable talent here, such as Zana and Kimi Lixx, but there’s a few first timers as well. Although some of the talent is recognizable, they’re still fresh and not stars that most people have seen umpteen times already. Luc starts out each scene with a short interview and also pops in now and then during the scenes.

Scene 1 – Zana and Nick Manning

Zana and Nick Manning start things out with a little caressing and play while Luc interviews them. Zana talks a little about getting into the adult industry, her first sexual experience, and her most outrageous public sex act. Zana’s an extremely good looking blonde who looks really great in her black stockings and garter belt. Unfortunately she has some implants that are way overblown, but that’s about the only had thing about her. It’s a great start and everybody seems to be having a great time even in the interview. Although most of the cast aren’t amateurs, Amateur Angels 1 is still a winner. A lot of credit goes to Luc Wylder. His interviews seem very friendly and start most of the scenes off on a fun note. The talent, who although not amateurs, also do a great job and have a fresh feel to them rather than feeling like some of the porn stars who have been around for years. There’s a lot of heaven here in Amateur Angels 1.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts almost two and a half minutes with about four seconds per photo. It nicely mixes snapshots with full screen photos, and the photos look very nice. The bios are also set up very nice. Each girl’s photo is shown along with her name so you can easily identify them. Upon selecting the star you get a full screen with a short interview about the star that gives some personal information. . They’re well done and capture the fun in the series. Of course, there’s web info, but there’s also an option that lets you watch all the cum shots and skip the scenes.

Finally, there’s a behind the scenes featurette that lasts a whopping thirty seven minutes. It’s a kind of combination of blooper reel and behind the scenes. There’s a few bloopers, such as flubbed lines and camera accidents, but most of it shows what happened that you didn’t see in the feature. It starts out with some extra footage of Ann Marie including a little interview and what happens after the scene is done. Zana is featured next, including a short interview, a sequence on her photos being shot, and some extra footage from the scene. Violet Blue also has some photo footage as well as some of what happened in the scene that wasn’t included in the scene. Veronica Velour’s extra footage mostly deals with everybody learning to deal with Veronica’s lack of hearing, which is interesting. The best, which comes as no surprise, is Kimi Lixx’s extra footage. There’s quite a bit of screwing around and joking that’s a lot of fun. Joel Lawrence’s professionalism and care for his partner also comes across very well in the extra footage. It’s a very nice behind the scenes. Alexandra Silk is in much of it, so you get to see how much of a team she and Luc are. If you enjoyed the movie, you’ll probably find more that you like in the behind the scenes.
