The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Amateur Angels 1 was pretty good, and there’s enough nice talent here that I have some decent hopes for this episode.

Initial Reaction: It’s okay, but has some definite problems

Who Should Watch It : Couples who don’t want to bother with the plot

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting to see how nasty some fresh talent can get.

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are fairly average. The audio is clear, but sometimes a little off balance. There’s also a few areas where the audio appears to be dubbed and a few very noticeable background noises. The video has some noticeable grain, but it’s even and the action is decently lit.

Music: None

Disc Complaints: As happened so often when Fallen Angel and Adam & Eve teamed up, there’s no time stamp. There’s also the extremely large hot shot icon which you can’t turn off. These things always ticks me off, but since I think they’ve fixed these problems in their current releases I’m not going to whine about it here.

Menus: The menus are nicely done. The main menu nicely works a few clips from the feature in while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Luc Wylder, one of the nicest guys in the adult industry, hosts Amateur Angels. Although the girls aren’t quite amateurs in most cases (there’s a lot of familiar faces in the series), they’re all relatively new. Luc interviews each of the lovely ladies, and then lets them show what they can do.

Scene 1 – Tawny Roberts and Ricky Roberts

Tawny and Ricky Roberts start things out. Of course, Tawny and Ricky talk with Luc a little before they start kissing each other passionately. Ricky helps Tawny out of her clothes, revealing a great pair of natural tits, and then makes his way down to give each of Tawny’s holes a good tonguing. She returns the favor by giving Ricky a nice slow blowjob along with some amazing eyes before letting him fuck her in a few of the common positions around the kitchen. Finally, Ricky brings things to a nicely natural finish by popping in Tawny’s nicely shaved pussy and letting her squeeze it out.

This is a hot scene with the great chemistry that you rarely get outside of a real life couple. I know I’ve been very critical of Ricky in the past, but he and Tawny really do a nice job here. They have nice chemistry, nice energy, and both look really great!

Scene 2 – Angel and Jay Ashley

Chicago girl Angel takes on Jay Ashley, one of the top suitcase pimps in the jizz biz, in the second scene. After her interview she spreads her legs to let Jay at her goodies before crouching down and giving him a cheek and throat stretching blowjob. Angel and Jay move between fucking on the desk and in a chair before Jay rips off his rubber and gives Angel a couple drops of guy goo on her stomach.

This scene didn’t do too much for me. Angel looked to be into getting fucked pretty well, but the camera work really turned me off. I think close to two thirds of it was in extreme close-up mode, and there was also quite a bit where Angel’s head was chopped off. This gave the scene a claustrophobic feel that didn’t do anything for me.

Scene 3 – Marissa and Dale DaBone

Marissa, a tall brunette who looks like she might have a bit of Italian or Latin blood in her, and Dale DaBone team up for the second scene. Marissa gives Dale a sensual hummer and kisses her way around his stomach before kissing her coochie. Dale fucks her from behind before nailing her missionary style on the couch and floor. Finally Dale gives Marissa a drink from the firehose, which she seems to enjoy cleaning up from.

This is an okay scene. Marissa looks like she’s really into it, but Dale doesn’t seem to notice at times. When they switch between the couch and floor it looks like Marissa is really getting into it and about to come, but Dale pretty much picks her up to move her. He also seems fairly fake with his reactions during the blowjob. There’s some moments with great heat, but little things like these held the scene back to being just barely above average for me.

Scene 4 – Jennifer Steele and Chris Cannon

Jennifer Steele and Chris Cannon hook up for the fourth scene. Chris leads of the oral favors exchange until the rough surface starts killing Jennifer’s knees. They move to the pool to start fucking, with Jennifer starting out in missionary and moving through a few other common positions. Finally, Chris pulls out and decorates Jennifer’s ass.

This scene seemed a little below average to me. Jennifer and Chris seem to be into each other pretty well, but I was very distracted by the audio balance. The water splashing was louder than anything else in the scene, and because of it I had an extremely hard time getting into the scene.

Scene 5 – Nefertitti and Julian St. Jox

Nefertiti and Julian St. Jox get down in the penultimate scene. Nefertiti starts off sucking Julian’s joystick before letting him tongue her twat. She takes time to give Julian some passionate kissing before he bones her beaver. They work through missionary, doggie, before finishing things up cowgirl style and Julian pulling out to pop on Nefertiti’s ass.

For some reason I didn’t go into this scene with too high of expectations, but Nefertiti really showed me up. She and Julian have great chemistry, and put some nice and believable energy into the scene. There’s nothing that’s really special about the scene, but it comes across as very nicely done.

Scene 6 – Sandra Knight and Colt Steele

Sandra Knight, a cute and playful bottle blonde who’s thankfully no relation to yours truly because I’d hate to think that I could be the butt of those Arkansas family reunion jokes, takes on Colt Steele in the final scene. She skips the interview to go right to sucking his schlong and then playfully demands that he eat her pierced pussy. She has Colt work her over missionary style before moving him so she can ride him, before they finish things up doggie style. Finally, Sandra has Colt decorate her excellent ass.

As usual, Sandra is a delight to watch. She looks like she’s having a great time and frequently smiles and vocalizes how much she’s enjoying herself. She never looks like she’s faking anything, and turns this into what’s easily one of the best scenes in the entire movie.

Amateur Angels 2 is a decent all sex couples feature. Luc works great as a host, and always appears friendly, caring, and interested in the girls. He brings them out as people, and it normally helps out the scenes. Unfortunately the scenes have some obvious weaknesses. I didn’t care for a lot of the camera work, mostly because I don’t like a lot of extreme close-ups, which this definitely has. Thankfully the fresh feeling of the stars helps it out much of the time, along with some very nice chemistry. Amateur Angels 2 is far from perfect, but still nicely enjoyable for couples who don’t want anything too heavy.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about three and a half minutes with about five seconds per decent looking snapshot or full screen photo. I’m not sure, but I think most of the photos might have come directly from the movie rather than being actual still photos. Trailers are included for Amateur Angels 1, Forbidden Lust, and Sex Across America Seventh Stop: Los Angeles. Bios are included for each of the girls, and each includes a photo and a little personal information. There’s also web links and a behind the scenes featurette.

Although listed as Bloopers, it’s actually a behind the scenes featurette with Scarlet Begonia behind the camera which lasts over a half hour. You get to see some of the stills being shot by the lovely Alexandra Silk, a little of Luc and Alex talking with the cast and their significant others (such as the lovely Mia Smiles) between shoots, and some of the scenes being shot. Tawny and Ricky get the most screen time, but you get enough of everybody to get a little better feel of them as real people. It’s a nice behind the scenes featurette that makes a great extra.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, much of the Amateur Angels series can be found online for between $13 and $22 with a few stores offering it near the low end. The low end is very fair here. The scenes are hit or miss, but do have some nice feeling to them. The technical aspects lack a little, but there’s some nice extras.

Note to Fallen Angel / Adam & Eve: A little more attention to the technical aspects would go a long way!
