Initial Expectations: Jim Enright normally makes a hot adult feature (even if they can be a little formulaic) and I think Devinn Lane could probably get a rise out of a dead man. The combination should make a great movie.

Initial Reaction: It’s nothing too special, but still fun and pretty good.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants a few chuckles between some good sex

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting nastier sex or a lot of plot

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is fairly clear and well balanced without any background noises, but there is a little scratchiness here and there. The video is also well done, although there’s often a small colored bar along the bottom edge. The lighting is also very well done, and there aren’t any shadows worth mentioning that interfere with the action.

Music: The music has a nice variety in styles. Some of it is a little softer in style than normal porn music, while there’s also some of the stuff you’re used to hearing. This makes a lot of it stand out nicely from some of the other stuff out there. It’s normally a bit on the loud side, but not so much that it ruins the scenes.

Menus: Not surprisingly, Wicked has put some decent effort into the menus. The main menu is unique and fun, as are the rest of the menus. The chapter menu gives you a nice clip of each scene as well as a title for each. They’re all very well done and impressive.

The Feature: Everybody’s busy on New Years Eve, so bellhop Devinn Lane is left to take care of the entire hotel. Since it’s New Years Eve, there’s quite a bit going on in the hotel. There’s a bachelorette party, bickering couples, and people experimenting, just to name a few. It’s a lot for one lone bellhop to do, especially if she’s going to get a little action in.

In The Bachelorette Party, Breena and Sabrina Love-Cox throw a part for the soon to be married Sandy Knight. Breena and Sabrina start off in fetishwear with a little kissing, but the fun doesn’t really start until Sandy arrives, also dressed for the occasion. Unfortunately, the stripper the girls hired doesn’t show up, so they convince Devinn Lane to dance for them. Afterwards Devinn’s guided to the bed where the girls do their best to thank her. The girls move things into a line next so Breena and Sabrina can fuck Devinn and Sandy with their strap-ons before they finish things up with their tongues and fingers. Unfortunately, it ends very abruptly without the action feeling like it had come to a close. To me, bringing a lesbian scene to a satisfying conclusion is the sign of a great director to me, which brings Mr. Enright down a notch for me. Despite the ending, it’s a very hot scene with great chemistry and energy.

Dee and Randy Spears try to find what they lost in the years of their marriage in 2nd Honeymoon. After bringing him away from work, Dee and Randy exchange oral favors back and forth before Dee climbs up to mount him. They go from cowgirl to missionary with the action often concentrating on the penetration from the back. It gives the scene a little different feel, and for me, brought things down a little bit. Dee takes a nice facial, that she seems to enjoy a bit since she smiles as it hits her face, and also seemed to be really into the scene since she started moaning in Spanish. You can tell that there’s great chemistry here, but unfortunately I didn’t think the camera caught the action that well once the fucking started.

Devinn Lane finds April passed out in her room in The Left Over, loading her into a laundry cart, before things switch to The Experimentors. Here, good girl Kristal Summers and bad girl Kelsey hook up with bad boys Lee Stone and Steven St. Croix. Kelsey immediately gets into it and drops down to take care of Lee’s oral needs, while Steven coaxes Kristal into it by going down on her first. Lee returns the favor tonguing Kelsey’s pussy and ass while Kristal sucks Steven’s twig and berries. The guys move on to slide in and out of the girls, switching back and forth with who gets to be on top, but never switching partners. Kelsey finally takes Lee’s dick droppings on her chest while Kristal takes Steven’s orally and swallows every drop. It’s a pretty good scene with nice chemistry between the people in the two pairs, but it falls a bit short overall otherwise. There’s talk about Kelsey and Kristal going at it before, but there’s absolutely nothing between them in the scene. This lets the scene be a little above average, but not too much.

Joel Lawrence and Gauge, who I suspect might have lost her virginity at a family reunion, star in The Young Lovers next. I’m not sure how Joel got cast in this scene with the title, since one of the prerequisites to be a porn stud seems to be not being young. Anyway, after spilling champagne on each other, Gauge reveals the lingerie she bought and then attacks his cock orally as Joel lays back on the bed. Gauge doesn’t bother having Joel lick her bald beaver, and instead lays beside him so he can spoon it. They continue through reverse cowgirl and doggie before Joel stuccos Gauge’s face. Supposedly this was the first time either of them had sex in a year, and with the size of spray Joel unleashes on Gauge it looks about right. It’s another pretty good scene, but didn’t strike me as anything overly impressive. Then again, I’ve never been that impressed with Gauge so her fans might enjoy it a lot more than me.

Finally, in Nearing Midnight, Devinn tries helping out her new “friend” April. She wheels her up to the employee shower, and end up being pulled in fully clothed. Of course this means Devinn has to strip down, but unlike your typical porno she wraps a towel around herself and takes April back to a room. They collapse on a bed and Devinn finds herself between April’s legs. April returns the favor, working Devinn over until she squirts, and then gets underneath so they can work each other over at the same time. They finish things up with a great kiss. It’s a hot scene, and one of the best in the feature.

5 Rooms is a pretty standard porno. There isn’t much of a plot, but what there is works nicely to set up the scenes with a bit of fun. Almost all credit here goes to Devinn Lane, who handles the non-sex portions of the feature with the style of Charlie Chaplin, trading the mustache and cane for a short skirt and great set of cans. The sex scenes vary a bit, but even at the worst case are pretty average. Devinn’s two girl - girl scenes are the best scenes in the movie, with her foursome with Breena, Sabrina Love-Cox, and Sandy Night being the best in the feature. The main problem with the feature is that the sex seems uninspired at times. The double couple scene shows some great potential, but doesn’t go anywhere with it and the camera work in the scene between Randy Spears and Dee held the entire scene back. 5 Rooms is a pretty decent porno, but nothing you should feel the need to rush right out and pick up.

Extras: Wicked’s standard extras are here as well as a few others. Audio bios are included for Devinn Lane, Dee, Kelsey, Kristal Summers, Breena, April, Randy Spears, Lee Stone, Joel Lawrence, and Steven St. Croix. As usual with Wicked, the format of the audio bios is done to fit the feature, and include a few stills, a bit of personal information, and a link to the star’s scene. Trailers are included for Heart & Soul, Covergirls, Knockout, and Sweet Dreams. There’s also promotional materials, the Wicked Casino, wicked web links, a listing of Wicked’s award winning and nominated features, a company profile, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coalition.

Fans of photo galleries will be pleased. The movie photo gallery lasts just over two and a quarter minutes with five seconds per nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. There’s also a seven minute featurette on the girls of 5 Rooms which acts like a moving photo gallery, focusing on one girl at a time during as their photos are being taken. The two minute box cover shoot featurette is also much the same way, although also includes a few comments from Devinn.

Devinn Lane sits solo to give a commentary for the feature. Unfortunately, the microphone seems a bit off, so Devinn’s normally lovely voice is a little scratchy. Devinn handles herself pretty well, but there are quite a few dead spots. She doesn’t explain much about what happened during the making of the movie, but does tell a few little stories about some of the stars. She also vocalizes her character’s thoughts throughout the feature. It’s an okay commentary, but not up to Wicked’s normal standard.

All Access: The Making of 5 Rooms lasts about twenty minutes and is your typical Wicked behind the scenes featurette. While “typical” can be a bad thing in many cases, with Wicked it’s a good thing. There’s plenty of interviews with the cast as well as capturing the scenes being filmed and what else is happening around the set.

Finally, there’s a few Easter Eggs. There’s Steven St. Croix surprising Jim Enright, and some fun with titties. There’s also Devinn and April comparing body ornamentations and breaking the bed. They’re some nice extras, and worth looking around for.

Overall: Most Wicked DVDs can currently be found online for between $22 and $30 with most stores offering them for around $24. This is pretty fair for what you get here. The movie’s fun but the sex, although better than average, still isn’t quite up to the normal Wicked standard. The transfer’s well done along and there’s a few nice extras.

Note to Wicked: Not all of us want to watch the Dolby and Wicked logos, as well as the other stuff before the main menu. It would be nice if you’d make it so we can skip it again on future DVDs.
