I was lucky enough to interview Katrina a few years ago at AVN, and though it seemed like she was shy and nervous at times, I am glad to see that since then, she has grown as a performer. She doesn't seem as shy anymore, and this year was big for her as she was named a contract girl for Evil Angel. And what better way to showcase her, than have a few of their top directors each showcase Katrina in their own special way. I can only hope that they put out more of this kind of showcase, as when you have one director, the style is pretty much the same throughout the movie. Not the case here, as not only do we get some different visual styles, there is also some difference in themes and focus. And with the BTS footage/documentary style included in the movie, we also get a nice look on how the magic was made, and get to know a little more about Katrina and her life and thoughts, which she's not afraid to speak her mind. Dangerous, dirty, and sporting both piercings and tattoos in all of the right places, the raven-tressed Katrina Jade is one of those rare performers who immediately stands out in front of the lens. Indeed, the diminutive spinner is simultaneously both cute and devilish, dark and sweet, & toned and curved...a walking, super-sexy, pornographic conundrum, if ever there were one. In a word, she is special. It thus should come as no surprise that this lovely young lady, who seems as genuinely consumed by kink and carnality as just about anyone around, would take the adult film industry by storm, rising meteorically to its upper echelons. This is, indeed, the case...and nowhere is it better highlighted than in "I Am Katrina: A Sex Documentary", an exquisite, 2017 release from Evil Angel and a handful of its most skilled directors, including Jonni Darkko, the LeWood duo, Aiden Starr, and John "Buttman" Stagliano himself. This is easily the most artistic release I've seen in a very long time as Kayden Kross shows she is a director that is well worth keeping an eye on. Angela White, Honey Gold, Jillian Janson, Katrina Jade, and even Kayden Kross herself turn out solid sexual performances with no shortage of artistic style. The technical aspects show no an extreme amount of care, but sadly there's no real effort put into the extras. Due to the heavy artistic style I'm not sure that I can say this is one to run out and purchase, but it is one to run out and rent to see if the style works for you because if it does it's going to blow you away.
