Sacrosanct is one of the most artistic adult movies I've seen in a very long time, and really shows that Kayden Kross is a director who really bears paying attention to. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who saw her fantastic Sun-Lit (which I consider one of the best movies of the year), but more so it drew my mind back to the great creative directors like Antonio Passolini and the Dark Brothers. No, there aren't guys in pig masks or anything like that, but there's a dark sexuality and creativity here that nobody seems to dare explore any more, and that makes it worth checking out to see if it works for you or not. The final scene with Kayden and Jillian teasing Manuel was easily my favorite, and probably the most straightforward in the movie. The ladies both play the tease and denial aspect extremely well, and Manuel is so restrained personally that I couldn't help but look to see if he was physically restrained to his chair (which he wasn't as far as I could see). Angela White might give the most impressive performance in the movie, and plays a great range from curiosity to complete wanton lust. I love the progression in the scene, and Angela shows some very nice acting chops to go with her fantastic sexuality. Honey and Katrina's scenes are also good, but just didn't work as well for me as the last two in the movie. The darkness and blood of Honey's scene started it off on the wrong foot for me even though she looked to have great chemistry with Mick. Katrina turns out a strong scene and I love the artistic style of it, but her ink is a big turnoff for me. Sacrosanct is not a movie that's going to be for everyone, but even when it didn't work the best for me it was so refreshing to see somebody trying something different and artistic rather than doing the same thing as everyone else because you know it's going to sell and has some hot girls in it. Sacrosanct is full of risk, but its eight nominations for this year's AVN awards shows that it's taking some of the right risks and thankfully somebody's noticing. Give this one a rental to see if its style works for you, because if it does, Sacrosanct is going to work for you in a big way.
