Camp Beaverlake: The Movie is a great example of everything that went wrong in the video tape era. Camp Beaverlake: The Movie is an early shot on video movie that has already tossed away everything from when adult films were shot on film. There is no real plot and much of what of present appears to be improvised. The movie is poorly shot and, despite Bobby Hollander coming from when adult films were shot on film, comes across as looking very amateur. Fans of Golden Age erotica will definitely want to pick up a copy of Deep Throat as no classic collection will be complete without it. Out of the two versions available now, this is the one to pick up. The movie has been restored to it's original theatrical version and Arrow has even managed to put together some extras to go with the film. Viewers who are just interested in seeing what all the talk was about are better off renting the title first as if they are used to the films of today, they are bound to be disappointed. This 1980 New York production may be the only Gerard Damiano video I've ever seen. Typcially, "golden age" adult movies are pretty tame by today's standards. That isn't the case with this one. Right away there's an anal scene, followed shortly by a double penetration. There's also a scene where a man is penetrated by a dildo. In the original movie, there was a fisting scene and a golden shower scene, both of which have been cut from this dvd (and, unlike Arrow's DVD of "Candy Stripers" are unfortunately not hidden in an easter egg). The plot involves a futuristic society called "Alpha Blue," in which the prevailing custom is sex without commitment or attachment. Herschel Savage (early in his amazing three decades-long career) is happy with this state of affairs, but R. Bolla pines for the good old days of love and romance. Bolla decides that he will woo Satisfier 805 (Lysa Thatcher) into falling in love with him. Bottom line: this is an amazing classic feature, one of the best golden age movies not made by Henry Paris (aka Radley Metzger). [read the full review]

Year: 1974 Length: 73 minutes approximately MEMORIES WITHIN MISS AGGIE from 1974 by porn director legend Gerard Damiano is a true classic, that is given a truly terrible dvd transfer. Although advertised as available from Arrow dvd by Excalibur films, this is in fact a transfer they themselves have done of the film from an old Arrow vhs of the film. The transfer is horrible and that is the only thing that keeps me from giving this film a perfect rating. This movie is one of the best porn films I've seen, and it holds it's own as a film story wise also, which is important as this one aims to be a feature. The story behind this film is that Miss Aggie is a slightly crazy middle aged woman, who imagines the ways she met her current companion and she has flashbacks imagining herself as a young woman having sex with him as a young man. The first scene is between Eric Edwards and Kim Pope and it's pretty good, they are both very innocent in this scene. It's strange to see Eric Edwards so young looking as he was in this film. The set is convincing, and many have thought it was shot in a hospital although it was really shot on a sound stage in San Francisco. The acting is reasonably good, although the plot isn't complicated: a bunch of hospital patients who are more horny than sick, and three candy stripers willing to serve any way they can, including sexually. Many have commented that the women in classic porn are not as good looking as today's crop. Although that is generally true, Amber Hunt, for example, could hold her own even in today's porn biz. Arrow has done an outstanding job restoring sound and picture, and one of the cutest things about this movie is the song that was composed and performed for it. The fact that golden age adult films frequently had a song written specifically for them is one of the things that separates them from the current industry. [read the full review]
