Zolushka is a gay oriented — but not only accessible to gay audiences — short movie parody of the popular classic fairy tale Cinderella from director Wes Hurley. Zolushka is a comedic softcore short movie that doesn't have a single line of dialog within it. Hurley has done a great job of telling the entire story through visuals, although using such a known tale as Cinderella to base it on also helps.

The titular Zolushka (Josh Hartvigson) is a janitor working at a male strip club, who is laughed at by the patrons yet yearns for the Prince (Colby Keller). After he is shoved into a utility closet, his fairy godmother (Waxie Moon) appears and turns him into a stud – but only until the clock strikes midnight.

Zolushka is truly funny, this reviewer couldn't help but keep laughing out loud while viewing the short movie. Hurley has done a great job of bringing new — and very unexpected — life to the classic Cinderella tale truly making it his own and a unique short movie that will entertain most viewers. However, the homophobic need not apply.

Zolushka is beautifully shot at the Pony Bar, a gay bar in Seattle, Washington. Since the story within Zolushka is told entirely through the visuals that are presented to the viewer, the visual presentation of the short movie is all the more important. Happily, Vincent Pierce, the cinematographer, has done a wonderful job with Zolushka.

The cast in the movie was great. Keller is absolutely amazing in his role making this reviewer want to seek out more of his movies. Hartvigson is also wonderful with his portrayal of the Cinderella character Zolushka. Honestly, unless you are missing a funny bone, Zolushka is a must see short movie.

The edition of Zolushka screened is the streaming only version available on NakedSword. NakedSword Film Works has done a great job with their streaming only release of Zolushka. Zolushka was shot digitally and is available in 1080p. The image looks absolutely beautiful with no blemishes, flaws, or anything at all wrong. The colors in the movie are beautiful.

Zolushka is available with a Stereo audio track. There isn't any dialog within the movie so there is no fear of not understanding anything. The audio track contains music only which sounds great with no noticeable issues whatsoever.

Zolushka has been released by NakedSword through their NakedSword Film Works (NSFW) division that was launched in 2016 to exhibit gay independent movies that aren't exactly pornographic yet aren't exactly mainstream. Zolushka is a truly amusing softcore gay spoof of Cinderella that is sure to entertain all viewers. Zolushka is highly recommended. NakedSword Film Works has done an excellent job with their streaming only release of Zolushka on NakedSword with excellent video and nice sounding audio.
