The Abridged Version: Vince Vouyer has long since been bestowing upon the world the magic of young, natural, ripe melons. With Anabolic/Diabolic, it was done through the Nice Rack series. (Nice Rack 6 is still one of my favorite tapes of all time) Here at Red Light, it has morphed into Young Ripe Melons. Back for a 5th edition, the series again delivers a knockout cast but that is where its general dependability falters. In the first 4 installments, we had not only hot girls (Alicia Rhodes, Caitlin, Jennifer Luv, Nevaeh Ashton, Paulina, Avy Scott) but also hot scenes. Here, every single girl is appealing and in possession of killer racks, diverse in nature as they might be. But the actual sex is, well, disappointing. In fact, I am somewhat curious as to how much of this is actually directed by Vince. He appears in only one scene as a performer and the pre-scene interviews, with the cameraman/director off-camera talking to the girl(s) on camera, are largely handled by a voice I didn’t recognize. In previous installments, he was always the one doing the interviewing but here sometimes it’s his voice and sometimes it’s not. Even if he actually is the director and I am wrong on all accounts, it isn’t up to his usual par. Then again, neither was the recent “Vouyer Vision” (2004). Similar to that one, “Young Ripe Melons 5” (2004) feels far too mechanical and features far too forced dirty talking, which is common in David Luger tapes but not Vince Vouyer ones. Perhaps the shake-up behind the scenes at Red Light has distracted Vince. I don’t know. Either way, this is not as good as it should be. Sexy, nasty girls Jessica Sweet, Katin, and Sativa team up with fresh off the bus girls Summer Lynn, Crystal, Chelsea, and Monica to take on all comers in a video directed by Vince Vouyer. Each girl, especially Jessica, Monica, and Chelsea, have unbelievable breasts and most of the male performers are dependable. Yet it all feels flat. In the “Nice Rack” scenes, Vince was adept at highlighting the breasts. In fact, before the money shot in each scene he would switch to a POV looking up at the girl, usually in cowgirl, as her breasts bounced. There’s none of those nice touches here really. This isn’t so much a big-breast oriented tape as it is a tape where girls with natural breasts get fucked while they occasionally ask the camera and thus us viewer if we like their young, ripe melons. It all looked so good in the first four installments of the series. Now, Vince just looks distracted and some of the girls (Katin, Sativa) over acting.

Scene 1: Summer Lynn (average looking blonde, naturally thick body that doesn’t look bad, great rack) w/Sean Michaels (25 minutes)

Summer is the girl with the familiar face and name. In her face and body, I think she is just Lexxus (Nice Rack 8) on a comeback. Want that in layman’s terms? The camera stays far too close to the action for a majority of this scene and that did little for my little general. Technical criticism notwithstanding, this is actually quite a hot scene. Erik is a fucking machine during sex and he really kicks it into overdrive with Chelsea, pistoning in and out of her in missionary while reaching up to slap her breasts. For my money, in spite of the weak facial and lack of anal this is the tape’s best scene or at least second best to Jessica Sweet.

The Verdict: There are two types of gonzo scenes to me: the one that is hot because of who the girl is and the one that is just plain hot. The former gets by just on the looks of the girl while the ladder is one of those beautiful moments where it all comes together. Well, I liked Crystal, Sativa, Monica, and Summer but their scenes were more appealing because of how hot they looked than the actual sex. With Jessica and Chelsea, their looks merely complimented the genuinely spirited, nasty, hot sex. And Katin phoned it in. I previously mentioned Nice Rack 6. I still watch the Taylor St. Claire and Cheyanne scenes from that. And I still watch Jennifer Luv and Paulina’s scenes from Young Ripe Melons 3. Over time, the only scenes I will probably remember from this tape are Jessica and Chelsea’s, but it is highly possible that once Chelsea’s anal scenes start coming out I won’t care about this one. As such, this is one of the most appealing overall casts I have seen in a long time. Jessica Sweet, Chelsea, Monica, and Crystal could easily become very successful and popular. It’s just too bad they all congregated in a tape that came up a bit short (no pun intended)

Rent it or Buy It: Based on the merits of the cast, this is a definite rental. If you are a big breast fan, you will love this cast, especially considering that so many of them are brand new. However, I would refer you to Brandon Iron’s Photographic Mammaries series or Dog House Digital's Natural Born Titties or earlier installments of this series or of the Nice Rack series if you’re looking for something to buy.

The DVD: The extras consist of:
Behind the Scenes (15 minutes)-Each girl is given some behind the scenes look. It ends with Monica giving the cameraman a lap dance. The notable occurrence involves Sativa. She is lying on her side as Erik has his cock lodged up her ass. Monica is merely watching. I’ve seen this before in BTS of scenes involving a first anal.
