Initial Expectations: Normally all black sex doesn’t do much for me, but Sula Long impressed me so much with Young & Black 3 that I’m really looking forward to this one.

Initial Reaction: It’s a bit above average, but not much.

Who Should Avoid It: Extreme raincoaters and anybody who wants to see all black sex

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, although there are a few background noises in the outdoor portions of the feature. The video is very clear and well lit. There’s very little grain to the feature, and it continues clearly to the edge of the screen.

Music: The music has a fun porno style and Some of it is balanced extremely well with the rest of the audio. It isn’t so quiet in the background that you have to consciously listen to it, nor is it so loud that it covers up the real things you want to hear. Other parts are the only audio. It’s a decent mix of styles, even if I don’t care for some of them.

Disc Problems / Complaints: There’s commercials at the start of the feature that you can’t skip, or even scan past. Luckily this is something that Hustler isn’t doing anymore, but it’s still darn annoying! There’s also no time stamp anywhere on the DVD, which always annoys the heck out of me. This is another problem that, thankfully, doesn’t seem to be an issue with Hustler’s DVDs. As much as I hate to see problems like this, I at least have to admit that it’s great to see Hustler listening to people when they complain about things like this and changing things.

Menus: The main menu is pretty simple, but has enough animation to give it a decent first impression. The chapter menu shows you a few screenshots and lets you choose a scene based on a title for each scene. After selecting a scene, you get a second menu that lets you jump to whatever position you want in the scene. It’s a nice way to do things, especially since there’s no time stamp.

The Feature: While home on winter break, Cashmere and Kiwi decide they need to get laid. They decide the best way to solve this problem is to throw a fuck party, but are worried about butler T. J. Cummins and their cousin and friend Monica and Nicole Le blowing the whistle on them. They set out to make sure everything’s going to be okay, as well as throwing one heck of a party.

Kiwi and Sky Jolie start things off taking on butler T. J. Cummins, who I think is about the only openly bisexual guy that you see in straight movies, so he won’t tell their parents about the fuck party they’re going to throw. Kiwi tempts him with Sky’s body, and lets Sky start off the cocksucking as soon as he agrees. Kiwi takes over to show Sky how it’s supposed to be done, and then gets up on the kitchen counter for T. J. to lick her gash while she sucks on Sky’s titties. Kiwi teabags T. J. while he eats Sky and then gets between them so she can get fucked while having a little lunch. Sky continues to lie on the counter for T. J. to fuck her while eating a little Kiwi. Finally, T. J. shoots a little liquid love on their faces. It’s a pretty good scene, with Kiwi looking very impressive. My biggest complaint is in the camera work. Much of it focused on the closeups, and it rarely captured both the penetration and the girl’s reaction. It’s an okay scene, but nothing outstanding.

After Cashmere challenges Monica and Nicole Le about not having sex, Monica goes over to prove that it’s not exactly a challenge with the poolboy. She sucks his cock a bit and then takes him away to have a bit more of her way with him. They move by the pool for Monica to get her smoothly shaven slit licked, and stays there for the pool boy to fuck her. She gets it missionary and doggie style before sucking and stroking him until he gives her a nice facial. It’s a pretty good scene, but is held back a little by being combined with the next scene. Monica and the pool boy have some decent chemistry, but nothing really outstanding. It’s good, but not great.

Although Cashmere is turned on watching and pulls out a dildo to prove it, Nicole Le claims that she wants her first time to be special. Seeing it as a challenge, Cashmere decides to take on Nicole. After a little caressing, Cashmere drops down and tongues Nicole’s axe wound, and even breaks out the bright orange dildo to help break her in. After being worked over slowly for a while, Nicole decides to see if it’s really better to give than to receive, and goes to work on Cashmere’s pussy with a purple dildo. They finally finish tings up with a bit of kissing. As with most lesbian scenes, there feels like there’s a bit more to go, but there’s also a little hint that suggests they might have been done. I think this was Sula Long’s first lesbian scene, and if so, she did a great job for her first time. My biggest complaint here is that this scene was put in the middle of the scene between Monica and the pool boy, which rarely works for me. Every time it started to get going I fell out of the scene because I kept worrying that it was going to cut back to Monica’s scene.

After getting wind of the party, Cashmere’s Dad sends Julian St. Jox over to check on her. Luckily for Cashmere, Julian lives by the “booty before buddy” rule, and lets Cashmere know he’s willing to deal. She lets him slide his tongue between her luscious lower lips before they move around so he can suck Julian’s cock while he tongues and fingers her holes. After a little doggie action, Cashmere lets Julian play hide-the-salami in her ass spooning it, reverse cowgirl style, and finally pile driver before popping from her ass to her face. It’s a hot scene with some nice chemistry.

Finally, the party turns into an orgy. Monica, Nicole Le, Kiwi, and Ice take on each other as well as T. J. Cummins, Jasno Zupalo, and Ekzavir Wray. While Nicole and Ice work on each other with their tongue and a dildo, Monica and Kiwi take on the three guys. There isn’t much changing back and forth between the groups, and Ice and Nicole never get close to a cock until it’s time for the seed showers, where they get down with the other girls to get some liquid love. It’s an okay orgy scene, but nothing too outstanding.

Young & Black 1 is an impressive first time effort from Sula Long. She seems to have a great idea what she wants, and with the exception of a few camera angles that I don’t like, she turns out a good movie and shows a lot of promise and potential. I’m not a big fan of this type of movie, but Sula does a great enough job that I’m drawn in. Perhaps the biggest reason is that Sula treats the people as real people rather than just a bunch of lower class hos. The plot is light but fun, and works well as a setup for the feature. It never tries to be anything other than an excuse to get some people fucking. Cashmere does a very nice job leading the cast, and Kiwi and the others do a nice job backing her up. Young & Black 1 is an excelletn debut movie and a nicely done barely legal black movie that’s enjoyable and never insulting.

Extras: Trailers are included for Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle, Barely Legal 19, Hustler XXX, Asian Fever, Hot Showers 2, and Brazilian Snake 2. There’s also an eighteen photo gallery of nice looking full screen photos and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about ten minutes. Sula gives a little background on herself, and why she’s shooting a series that’s based more around black women that are real people rather than just a bunch of ghetto hos. She comes off as extremely friendly and intelligent, and impresses me just as much here as the first interview I watched with her. She never comes off as degrading or like she things that black people have to be made into a bunch of lower class slobs to get attention, like many mainstream pictures sadly do. There’s also a few interviews with some of the other cast members, such as Nicole Le, Cashmere, and Julian St. Jox as well as a bit of the scenes being shot. It’s a nicely done behind the scenes feature that makes me all the more impressed with Sula Long.

Overall: Currently, the Young & Black series can be found online for between $19 and $23, with only one store offering it for under about $20. This is a bit high for what you get, but not completely out of line. The movie is better than average in almost every way, sexually, in technical aspects, and with extras. Sula Long shows some very nice promise here and turns out a great debut here.

Note to Hustler: After the minor problems you had on this DVD, it’s nice to see how much you’ve improved. Thank you for listening to your customers. Also, please have Sula Long shoot some more movies for you! I’ve only seen two of her movies (of which I think there’s three), but she shows a heck of a lot of potential and deserves some support!
