Overall
Maybe it was because I was coming from a position of low expectations
that I found #4 quite pleasing, but it's a touch disappointing to find
that subsequent encounters (#5, and now #7) leave me feeling that there's
little else to see. It appears that there's no sense of progress - the
same sort of cheap and cheerful set ups, leading into straightforward
sex scenes with some quite appealing girls and a modicum of humour, take
us so far and stop. The approach is also slapdash - the scenes look like
they could fit into any similar series (e.g. Naughty College Schoolgirls)
with no problems, and feel formulaic even though they seem to have been
shot by different directors.
Andre Madness, in my admittedly limited experience, seems to churn this
stuff out in his sleep, and I wonder if that's actually Brandon, as in
Iron, who's co-credited - the movie certainly lacks the kind of edge you'd
expect from him, and I can't imagine he'd involve himself with such mundane
material as this. Momentarily diverting perhaps, but Young As They Cum
#7 is strictly generic porno fluff and does nothing to stand out from
the crowd.
DVD Comments
As I've mentioned a couple of times above, the picture quality is simply
not up to scratch in my book. Some scenes are too dark, some are way too
bright, colours are generally weak and the picture is often grainy and
lacking sharpness. I can imagine there are quite a few issues with source
footage, cameras, lighting and so on but that's hardly my concern - it
doesn't cut the mustard, whatever the reasons. As is too often the case,
the promise of those alluring box cover pics goes unfulfilled. I find
it hard to believe that directors and editors can sit there and look at
footage - and I am talking about technical quality only - like some of
the scenes here and think, "Yeah, we can use that!" and expect people
to pay good money for it. I think they should bite the bullet, take the
loss and can the scene. I really don't think the punters should pay for
a director's mistakes. Anyway, the sound is good, though again this means
overly loud music. The extras are the same old crap Digital Sin have been
padding out their discs with for far too long now. Time to do something
better - Digital Sin DVDs look like poorer value every time I see one.
